 I previously had a 14 inch laptop, and I would use an external display whenever possible. However, with the IdeaPad I mostly don't use an external display, as 16 inch is the perfect size imo. I do regret not getting the 120hz display.

 However, the size can be quite annoying sometimes. For example, I cannot put the laptop in a sleeve before putting it in my backpack. From what I've heard, the IdeaPad isn't that much bigger than most 15.6 inch laptops, so this might just be a problem with laptops bigger than 14 inch

I am quite happy with the IdeaPad in terms of performance. I use it for simulations in Matlab and some light gaming. It holds up well, and I think it might be a bit overkill for me. 

Review of IdeaPad 5 pro 16

 The sound quality is fantastic, among the best I've heard on a laptop, with particularly good bass, thanks to the subwoofer. The rich sound doesn't get distorted at maximum volume, and the booming audio filled the room during testing. 

 The Acer V 15 Nitro, the MSI PE70, and the Dell Inspiron 15 7559 all lagged behind on Cloud Gate. The pricier Alienware 15 ($799.99 at Dell) couldn't stack up on Cloud Gate, scoring 12,382, but did perform better on Fire Strike Extreme (3,128). The IdeaPad Y700-17's Fire Strike Extreme score was not too far ahead of the less expensive Dell Inspiron 15 7559's 1,992 points, either, which is more relevant to high-end gaming

 The exterior of the laptop is made of aluminum, while the area around the keyboard and the screen hinge is plastic. Given all the real estate on this deep and wide system, the keyboard is disproportionately small. The space between where your wrists naturally rest and the keyboard is taller than the keyboard itself, which is in a recess all the way at the back of the deck. The setup is awkward, and the keys feel small and far away from your fingers

The IdeaPad Y700-17 also performed well in the Heaven and Valley gaming tests. It scored 79fps and 84fps on Heaven and Valley, respectively, at Medium-quality settings. At Ultra quality, the laptop scored 23fps and 26fps, which is slightly under what's considered smooth (30fps). That means you'll have to lower a few settings or dial down some effects from Ultra when playing demanding games, but it's capable of playing most modern titles on high settings

0 would be for me as 3.0 seems to to be very smooth and responsive (I've tested this extensively by button mashing continuously for 5mins).

Just purchased one and it was delivered today. After a full day of typing on notepad here are my 2 cents.

Wired connection - great, no issues

Dongle connection - great, no issues... Just poor range

**Bluetooth connection is buggy as heck!** Several times there would be an infinite loop press on a  key that was just pressed. Turning off  the keyboard did not fix it. The only fix I had was to turn off my laptop (Lenovo Y700). I noticed this was only happening on Bluetooth connection. This is where things went to worse.

I assume a buggy Bluetooth firmware was to blame where it would toss out a bad infinite signal to my laptop where it was stuck reading in it in a loop. So, update the software to the keyboard right? I downloaded the appropriate rk84 software package for the SN 21\*\*\*\* keyboard and installed v1.0\_0407. No problems here.

In the settings of the software it prompts me to update both the software and firmware (for anyone who just purchased this keyboard. DO NOT DO THIS! It took me several hours of trial and error to get my keyboard back to factory settings).

After firmware and software update the RK84 was only useable through wired connection only (wired connection and keyboard on/off switch in the off position). The dongle and Bluetooth connection no longer worked. The RK84 basically turned into a **glorified RGB brick** that only worked when wired in.

**HERE IS THE SOLUTION** to return the keyboard to factory setting

reinstall the website software package. For me it was v1.0\_0407 for my SN 21\*\*\*.

go into the settings (where you first elected to update the software/firmware)

reset keyboard (only works with the original version)

reset software (only works with the original version)

on the keyboard press and hold "Fn" + "Space" until keyboard RGB light sequence is finished.

The RK84 should be back to default factory settings. Now avoid using it in Bluetooth mode and do not update the firmware!

**UPDATE 06/17/2021:** Their customer service seems to be very responsive. They released a new version of their software/firmware v20210608. I installed this firmware and performed software and firmware update. All functions seem to be performing well! Looks like they fixed the issues previously mentioned earlier! The only downfall is that I am still getting my infinite repeating keys on bluetooth 5.0 , but bluetooth 3.0, dongle, and wired connection are working just fine after the firmware update. Everything is butter smooth without any latency! I am very pleased with the results of the new firmware and keyboard! I'm not sure what the advantages would be of having bluetooth 5.0 over 3.0 would be for me as 3.0 seems to to be very smooth and responsive (I've tested this extensively by button mashing continuously for 5mins).

im going to college this year and im bored of getting hand cramps from writing in 2 degree weather so i wanna get a laptop

im looking for something thats hopefully smaller in size so it'll fit more easily in a backpack and slim. it doesnt need to be beefy at all since the most i'll have on it is a lot of files full of notes and maybe a game or two like among us. 

im not good with computers so i dont trust myself to pick out a decent one :D

what are some affordable, lightweight laptops for school?

  4) This laptop is on the heavy side. It's a little more "dense" than I would have anticipated, but at the same time it has a sturdy feel to it. If my dog kicks it off the couch or something I'm not afraid it's going to break in half.  5) The touch pad is irritating

 Certain things will turn off the back light, like when you are on battery power instead of plugged into the wall, but all you have to do is hold down the function key and tap the space bar.  7) The battery life seems to be pretty decent. Better than my last laptop. I don't have any concrete numbers or data on it, but I don't expect to be upset with the battery life

 There's more standard Windows junk than Lenovo bloat. I'm blown away with how fast it comes up.  2) I did some benchmark testing and the processor/memory are fast

I keep seeing Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 but I cannot find that in any Samsung store here in the Philippines. Can't even find it online. Mostly sold out. 

I bought the Xiaomi Pad 5 instead. 

Just gonna use it for Gaming, Browsing, Work. I'd buy the iPad Mini 6 but it's not android. The file transfer to Microsoft is horrendous. Don't want to go through that. 

Any Mini Tablets available? Amazon Fire tablets are also not available where I'm from
