**Connectivity:** The machine includes 2x USB-C ports, an ethernet passthrough port (used with the docking station), 2x USB 3 type A, 1x 4 pole headphone/microphone combo jack, a micro SD card reader, an optional smartcard reader, and gigabit ethernet. I wish there were more USB A ports but I can live with it, as this is unfortunately the direction the industry is going anyway. **Power:** This thing is *fast*.

I've been looking for a laptop that would last me at least 4 years of computer engineering school and I came across the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s. I will be configuring it with the Ryzen Pro 4750U, 8GB of RAM (I will install another 8GB myself), 512GB SSD, 3-year warranty, 300nit (touchscreen, 45% NTSC) or 400nit (non-touch, 72% NTSC) display, opinions welcome, not really sure what to go with.

Ghosting is pretty minimal and the viewing angles are OK but not great. At 14", 1080p is really just fine for me. 4K isn't an option anyway, so if you want a really high resolution display, you'll have to go elsewhere. Overall it feels like a nice, well-built system without going into the "style-over-substance" realm.

My Lenovo Thinkpad from nearly a decade ago hasn't been working too well for me lately, sometimes struggling with video calls and buffering videos. Also, it's graphics card isn't good enough to run a few games I'd like to play (Civ 6, Ori & the Blind Forest, Journey). Not sure if that's specifically something I'll have to look for or if all modern computers will be up to the task. I'm in the US, looking for something <1K.

P14s Ryzen 4750pro Cinebench tests. TDP unlocked using Ryzen controller

Recently received the Thinkpad P14s for my friend (similar to T14) with Ryzen 4750 pro. I was wondering how much its maximum performance can be. I used the Ryzen controller tool to unlock the TDP, and ran cinebench R15 and R20. The results achieved by this small machine are quite amazing.
