Lenovo ThinkPad T15g Gen 2

I can have the full MS Office suite open together with Firefox (10+ tabs), Notion, Todoist, Clockify, Zoom and also run my practice management software (Smokeball) which I found does not support Mac OS. I love Apple products and really do like my iPhone and iPad for the train. I have come to realise, however, that when it comes time to do serious work - nothing beats my ThinkPad and I love the ability to take the entire office home with me as opposed to having a desktop in the office. I really love my ThinkPad P1 Gen 2 and would highly recommend it to any other professional users.

It is a joy to work with the T15g and I enjoy carrying it around. When I do use it, everything is perfectly smooth. The lighter T460s was both much too slow after the latest CPU workaround upgrades and too flimsy as I had to replace the back cover several times because the hinges broke off (only two screws hold them together, the T15g connects them with three screws). This T15g has the highest build quality you will get from Lenovo today.

And wayyyy cheaper. If you really need “full” portability with a screen etc the P15 Gen 2, P17 Gen 2, or T15G Gen 2 would be best. The newest ones have up to 8 core CPUs (i7s and i9s) and 4 RAM slots for up to 128GB total. Watch out for some of the Xeon CPUs in these models.

I think, that Lenovo ThinkPad T15g Gen 2 would nicely fit your needs, but I am affraid that you would need to double your budget... I would skip HP ProBook, if you need a performance, as ProBook/EliteBook series devices are meant for Office use and have thermal limitations to provide long time operation.

I'd recommend a lenovo T15G, good strong computer and you can add 5 years NBD on-site support so if something breaks they will send someone to you next buisness day to fix.
