T430 running classic keyboard and double the RAM

The laptop is overall "OK" from a functionality perspective, but the quality of the refurbishment of the keyboard is unacceptable. There is some sort of coating on the keys. The coating immediately started peeling, leaving the keys sticky and unusable. I only use an external keyboard with this laptop, which is obviously ridiculous for a laptop

My Lenovo Thinkpad from nearly a decade ago hasn't been working too well for me lately, sometimes struggling with video calls and buffering videos. Also, it's graphics card isn't good enough to run a few games I'd like to play (Civ 6, Ori & the Blind Forest, Journey).

I have a budget of around $1800 usd. The thing about a macbook that attracts me the most is that there are no air intakes underneath the body. I can readily keep it on my bed, couch wherever I want and work on it without worrying about suffocating the internals. The metal body and thin profile are also major plus points. 

I game casually, so an rtx 3060 will be enough for me. I'll be needing a lot of RAM and a powerful CPU, in a thin profile and a metal chassis if possible. 

The dell xps 17 with rtx 3060 is a great example of what I'm looking for, but I cannot afford it, and i'm not sure if it'll be available in my country anytime soon. (not from the us)

I really need suggestions for a windows laptop which is gaming capable, but I don't like the aesthetics of traditional gaming laptops, because I use a macbook pro for work, and the design of the macbook has pampered me.

Acer makes some nice low-end laptops.  I just bought this one (it may be more than you want to spend) and it's lightning fast, solidly built (it's an Aspire 7, w/ an Intel dual core processor) and great for Zoom, and anything else.
