 You also get an extra port so on the left hand side for example you have your USB port USB-A two Thunderbolt 4 ports and then on the right hand side you have an extra type C port this is not Thunderbolt it's just 3.2 of course your audio jack and then your power button to turn the device on. The weight is very similar to the previous yoga it's slightly heavier because it is a technically a bigger laptop but you're not going to notice much of a difference if you're holding both in your hand. Just like the previous yoga it is a convertible of course you can open it up with one hand it flips all the way around and one design thing that I truly like about this is the way the speaker system works

 So yeah look I like this you know this is a great convertible they did a lot of things right in terms of the design they obviously the 16 by 10 display is a lot nicer than 16 by 9 the battery life is still good even though they're using a 28 watt processor and all the small little updates from the touchpad to the extra keys are an improvement from last year. Obviously if you have the previous model this is not an upgrade for you but if you're coming from an older convertible I think this is one you should put on your shortlist I will say this though about the p-series processor like this is the first one I've truly tested it's definitely a nice upgrade from last year's version but I think Intel's gonna have a tough time beating out the u-series processor from AMD because those guys are just much more efficient and they're able to push out a bit more performance like this processor inside of here reminds me of the 4000 series multi-core speeds that AMD used to put out but with much better single core clock speeds. Another big improvement is the touchpad this is the old one okay the new one is 45% bigger there's just so much more space to move your fingers around it's very accurate it's a good size and they were able to do this because they were able to extend the depth of the newer model the keyboard the way it feels and types is identical to the previous model so there's not a lot of difference in terms of actuation but they also change the buttons around on the previous model if you wanted to switch between like performance and battery saving mode you had to hit function Q that doesn't work anymore because they placed a separate key on the right hand side to do this automatically they also have like a screen privacy option which I didn't get to work for some weird reason there is a music option which lets you switch between music and gaming and different sound profiles you can switch to dark mode in Windows by simply tapping this button and of course back into light mode and instead of having the ugly fingerprint scanner over here there's a more I don't know nicer looking button on the bottom right hand side but you don't have to use a fingerprint scanner because the new webcam the 1080p webcam which looks better than the previous version also supports Windows hello but I really dig the display options you can get two versions of OLED 2880 by 1800 like I have here there's a 4k version which I don't suggest like you really don't need 4k OLED on a 14 inch display you're not gonna be able to tell the difference between this and that and there's also a full HD version I love OLED on a computer it looks so good these blacks are nice and deep it gets about 400 nits of brightness so it's bright enough and the color accuracy is impeccable and because this is a convertible and you can flip it into tablet mode the display also happens to support touch the only thing that I don't like is that it's a bit glossy you know like you can definitely see a lot of reflection if you have this by a strong light source but that comes standard with any glass panel as for performance it is using the i7 1260p which is Intel's p-series of processors so they're 28 watts which can boost up to 64 so a little bit more demanding than the traditional 15 watt CPUs we're used to seeing from the u-series and look it's a great machine right like it does get way better performance than last year's 11th gen Intel processors but it's still not as good as AMD's u-series processors it does have the advantage with single core clock speeds so if you're doing anything that can utilize that you will see the benefit using this compared to a lower wattage AMD processor but I still think AMD has the advantage in the low end if you're buying this for any sort of design work it runs great if you're using Adobe Photoshop Adobe Premiere Pro it's a little bit slower than I wanted Pugetbench did reconfigure their plug-in so all the scores are now lower it does beat out last year's model by a good amount but it's not breaking any records if you're using this to compile code it did it in 34 to 36 minutes which is not as good as what the AMD processors can do but again an improvement compared to last year's and if you're buying this for gaming don't because it's using an integrated GPU you can do it if you don't mind dropping the settings down a little bit but at the end of the day this is not a gaming laptop. As for heat management the CPU never got over 70 degrees Celsius it didn't thermal throttle but of course it power limited in order to keep the CPU cool stayed around 28 watts keyboard deck was not much of a concern it was a little higher than I'd like but it's not gonna bother you if you're typing on it it never felt super hot to the touch

2022 Lenovo Yoga 9i Review - So Much Better!

The Oatmeal color label might sound unappetizing, but the machined aluminum Yoga is more of a silver hue in real life, with shiny rounded corners that are an appealing contrast to the Spectre's gem-cut edges. The screen bezels are thin, with a smartphone-style bump on the top edge to help you open the lid.

26-pound weight is a bit much to hold in tablet mode&mdash;more than the HP's 2.95 pounds, though less than the Dell's 3.4.

The entry-level screen option, found on the $1,229.99 base model, is an IPS display with 1,920-by-1,200-pixel resolution. The highest is a 3,840-by-2,400 OLED panel. Ours is the middle choice, with the brilliant colors, coal-mine blacks, and sky-high contrast of OLED technology, but a lower 2,880-by-1,800-pixel resolution

Three benchmarks focus on the CPU, using all available cores and threads, to rate a PC's suitability for processor-intensive workloads. Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 7 Review

 We have an improved camera as well, it's now a 2 megapixel, 1080p, full HD camera that has a few tricks up its sleeve, we'll talk more about that soon, but very welcome edition indeed. The negatives that I'm seeing so far, RAM and WiFi are not used upgradeable, just like the last gen, the keyboard is a bit on the shallow side, but overall it's been pretty good, no SD card reader, there wasn't one last time either, would have been nice to have one, but the biggest negative I take away is that there's no place to store the pen, the silo is gone, but they do give you that sleeve that does have a place to store the pen, so there is a solution at the end of the day. But there's a lot to like here ladies and gentlemen, very very impressive, and I look forward to putting it through its paces for my full review, that will be coming very soon. So what do you think about this bad boy, and here it is in its sleeve, and I gotta say super impressed with it, now you do get the full size pen as we see here, that's a change over the last gen, the tradeoff of course is there's nowhere to store it in the device itself like we used to, so you'll have to store it here on the side, it also charges via USB-C, that's another change, the other pen that would store in it, the smaller one, would charge in that silo as well, so a change in the direction as far as where to store and charge the pen, now as far as the design as we talked about in the video, more rounded edges here as we saw in the video, less harsh, less sharp edges, very nice design statement they're making with this, all metal design, great construction on this, you won't have to worry about any flex or bend in the chassis, it's a really rock solid build quality, and I like the fact that it comes in this beautiful storm grey finish, but there is a new color called oatmeal as we showed in the video, now it does have the sound bar, which obviously is a carry over from the previous generations, and the benefit of course is not only does it have the spatial audio with the Dolby Atmos in terms of the sound, but you're also get great sound no matter which mode you're in, whether you're in a tent mode, presentation mode, tablet mode, or even of course laptop mode, you're gonna get the benefit of a rotating sound bar, and the sound was good as you saw in the video, they now have a bigger battery in this, 75 watt hours as opposed to the 60 watt hours you got last time, so I'm expecting better battery life, but this is an OLED display, keep that in mind, so that might be the wash in terms of the battery life, but of course I need to do my full testing to see the actual results, so stay tuned

Lenovo Yoga 9i 14 (2022): Core i7-1260P + 14" UHD+ OLED

Verdict - Lenovo offers a great high-end convertible

 Among ultra-portables without discrete graphics, it posted top-tier scores in Geekbench 5, PCMark 10, and Cinebench. However, its Intel Iris integrated GPU means that even though it posted a solid time of 37 seconds in our 4K video encoding benchmark in Handbrake, you're still going to want something a bit more substantial if you're looking to do a lot of heavy photo or video editing. Moving on to battery life. Even with its above-average performance, the Yoga 9i still turned in an excellent time on our local video rundown test

 Now I have to admit when I first unboxed the Yoga 9i, there was something about its design that just didn't look right to me. And after thinking about it for a couple of days, I realized, Lenovo's attempt to create a luxury aesthetic doesn't quite go far enough. Check it out. Most of the laptop is constructed out of matte aluminum, including its lid, deck, and bottom, while other ports like its keyboard and touchpad have been painted to match

 Moving on to battery life. Even with its above-average performance, the Yoga 9i still turned in an excellent time on our local video rundown test. It lasted 14 hours and 22 minutes, which is the second longest mark we've seen this year, only behind the Surface Laptop Go 2's time of 1443. And in the real world, I had no problems making it last throughout an entire workday on a single charge

 Now the two models that I have here today are the Storm Gray finish, but of course you could also get it in what they call oatmeal. That's a new colorway for this year in 2022. Looks pretty interesting as well. Now as far as the weight is concerned, the Full HD model comes in at 1

 So definitely a better battery life result with that Full HD IPS display. But please keep in mind that everybody's use case is a little bit different so your mileage may vary. Now if you do need to plug in the supplied 65 watt USB-C power adapter does support fast charging. Okay let's wrap it all up

 One of the biggest changes from the last model is the fact they now go with rounded edges. You don't get those sharp edges, making this a much more comfortable device to hold in your hand. That's a big win in my book. Now it's also a very nice looking device

 So it's not surprising that the IPS model outpaced the OLED model which consumes more power and also obviously burns a lot more power because it has more pixels to push with that 4K resolution. So what does this mean in real world mix usage? I think if you're going to go with that 4K OLED you're looking at anywhere from seven to eight hours whereas on the Yoga 9i with that Full HD IPS display you're looking at anywhere from nine to ten hours. So definitely a better battery life result with that Full HD IPS display. But please keep in mind that everybody's use case is a little bit different so your mileage may vary

Lenovo Yoga 9i 14 (2022) REVIEW: 4K OLED vs. FHD IPS

8K or WQUXGA. This specific model I'm reviewing is the lowest resolution version, the WUXGA version. While more people might prefer higher resolutions like me, having this lower resolution gives you better battery life and a lower price tag. There are all touchscreens as well with pen support

 On the other hand, the power adapter is so small that it doesn't take up much space or weight in your bag. Overall, I think the Lenovo Yoga 9i14 is a great option for those looking for a premium 2-in-1 Windows device. It has a touchscreen, you can use a pen, you can use it as a tablet, and the speakers are some of the best out there. The new design with the curved edges makes it very easy to handle, and I think the 14-inch display with 16 by 10 ratio hits the sweet spot for productivity and portability

 When it comes to battery, I notice about 5 hours of use when I'm unplugged, which is fine. However, I expect it to get more than that. On the other hand, the power adapter is so small that it doesn't take up much space or weight in your bag. Overall, I think the Lenovo Yoga 9i14 is a great option for those looking for a premium 2-in-1 Windows device
