 It also has an eSATA port, which is also more or less default for high-end routers these days. But it also has gigabit ethernet ports and these gigabit ethernet ports are 10 times faster than your typical fast ethernet. There's also a WPA2 and of course encryption and an SPI firewall, which basically keeps everything super safe and once again, if you tweak the settings, you can make things way more secure, especially with the lack of privacy and security these days. Finally, there is guest access

 It also has something called beamforming and this basically focus the signal to your device and basically that makes it so the performance and of course the signal is the best. Also, I don't know if you guys can see this, but it has 4 giant antennas, so you can actually position the antennas based on where the floors are in your house and of course, to give the best possible connection and best possible speed to every single spot inside your house or your office or wherever you'll be placing this. It does have a USB 3.0 port

 Now, of course, according to this, this is a tri-stream 160 with two times the bandwidth, which makes it the fastest 5 GHz band on any router out there, which is absolutely insane. This router also comes included with an application, which basically makes it so you can access it over the cloud. And of course, you can remotely access your router from wherever you please and tweak settings and mess around with maybe certain files on your NAS or media drive if you actually have one. Most POWERFUL 5GHz Router? Linksys WRT3200ACM Review!

After about three years, my Linksys WRT3200ACM gave up while I was in the middle of doing a bunch of important work. Since my internet was out and my phone service sucks, I decided to run to my local BestBuy, see what was available, and grab a router to get back online.

1" .  I've successfully configured my WLAN to use WPA2-Enterprise.  I really wish this router had an advanced mode for people with IT backgrounds, instead of being expected to reload it with less-reliable third-party firmware to have more advanced configuration options. SSH access would be nice

  The OpenVPN functionality is useful, with one edit of the OVPN file. Generate the file and edit it on a Linux system (Windows Notepad will break the file). Add this line before the line, replacing 192.168

 Additional features that would be awesome: a lightweight directory service similar to Active Directory being built in, and a RADIUS server being included. If it was straightforward to configure, and well documented, it would greatly improve network security for a lot home/small business users given the advantages of WPA2-Enterprise. This would also give them an option between WPA2-PSK and a full enterprise complex server setup.

cgi will generate show the logs that Linux administrators need.  Update: a month after purchasing, I manually installed the same firmware version that was already loaded into the router. This refresh fixed the stability issues and was widely recommended on the support forum. It still took a couple of months, but eventually Linksys/Belkin took the obvious step of incrementing the version number on the website so that all of these routers would autoreload and be fixed

Defective. Firmware update made it more stable (now pushed to everyone, and resolved). Could be so much more awesome.

 On either side of the router, you have an antenna. On the back, from left to right, is where you have the WPS button, 4 gigabit ethernet ports, and the uplink port to your modem. Next, we have the USB 3.0 port, the eSATA USB 2

 The next page is naming your network, setting your passwords, and finally, your router passwords. The last optional step is to set up smart Wi-Fi account with Linksys. The only issue I had setting up the WRT3200 ACM through the web interface was that I had to have the modem plugged in. Otherwise, the basic setup failed

Linksys Router WRT3200ACM Speeds with ExpressVPN

 Our Roku TV hasn't buffered or lost connection since. Pandora works on everyone's devices without buffering, and no one has any issues connecting on any device.  Really Linksys? To top it all off, they haven't issued any firmware updates for this router like they used to do for all their other models in the past. For over $200, you would think there might be at least a little follow-on support

Linksys really ruined their name with this one. I've used Linksys routers for as long as they have existed. This will likely be the last Linksys product I will ever purchase.  For starters, the "network map" feature, which is supposed to give you a visualization of all the devices on your network, is inconsistent, "temperamental" at best

  After suffering through this router for about a year, convinced that it must be something else with the then nearly $250 price tag router, I did some reading, and purchased a basic $44 TPlink router. About two minutes after taking it out of the box, our speeds dramatically increased. Our Roku TV hasn't buffered or lost connection since. Pandora works on everyone's devices without buffering, and no one has any issues connecting on any device

 There are numerous discussions on "matching the MTU" size with your ISP, and setting the correct ISP maximum speed. These settings don't even make sense for use on a home router, but in several forums, the "linksys experts" insist this is how you correct all the issues with it.  For reasons unexplained, and after trying all of the different speed settings suggested in the Linksys forums, this router would never deliver consistent speeds, even to a direct wired computer.  Wifi - Wifi consistency was even worse than wired for speeds

Inconsistent performance.  Better routers exist at a quarter of the price. *UPDATED*

Linksys WRT3200ACM or WRT1900ACS.  Rock solid, OpenWRT-compatible, can't go wrong.  These are basically the only routers I buy for home / small office use nowadays.

Till this moment, I always just bought some random shitty 20$ tp-link as my home router. Time has come to have something proper. I do not want anything extreme, just networking equipment that does not have celestial prices, while being considerably open (tinkerable) with a good enough hardware for openWRT and the likes. I know that lots of the routers can have it installed, but I also want to know about hardware not designed for headless end-consumers.


I am not really well-versed in networking hardware. If you know any brands or specific devices you like for whatever reason, please let me know!
