 So you open that zipper now this one is harder to pack into this little pocket than other packable backpacks and bags, but that's okay, because it fits no matter how long and how much of a struggle it is to actually get it in there. L.L.Bean Stowaway Day Pack

 It just doesn't stack up against the competition. I've used the Sea To Summit Ultra-Sil (probably this pack's direct competition), as well as slightly heavier ultralight day packs (the REI flash 18 and the Gregory integrated daypack sold with full sized packs).  In comparison to the Sea to Summit offering, this pack is nearly twice as heavy and far less comfortable. As countless other reviewers have mentioned, the straps on this are poorly designed and become very uncomfortable quickly

 This unremovable pouch adds a lot of bulk (it goes pretty overboard with velcro and stitching, though you won't have to worry about it falling apart!). The pack can already stuff into the the accessory pouch itself, so I'm dumbfounded as to why the stuff pouch exists at all.  If weight, compression, and comfort are your primary concerns (and the loss of a water bottle sleeve isn't important to you), then the Sea to Summit wins hands down. The Sea to Summit packs down to almost a quarter of the Osprey's size

Disappointing compared to the competition

 So it's a little inconvenient. Um, personally, not a huge fan of that, but it is what it is. So you unbuckle the compression straps and you got this um, ykk reverse coil zipper here that's gonna keep out moisture, which is good. Then it zips down pretty pretty far so you really get it nice and open

 [Music] All right, so let's take a look here starting with the materials. So this bag is made of a 70d recycled Polyester Rip Stop, which if you aren't familiar with Rip stop, it has these little like square grid patterns on here that will stop any rips or tears from getting larger. Um, it is only 70d so it's a bit thin which is necessary for it to be packable, but it's still very durable. This fabric is actually made of recycled pop and water bottles too

[Music] All right, so let's take a look here starting with the materials.  So it's kind of like pulling in at the sides here and personally to me just like doesn't really look that great. Especially if you look at it on the side, you can see what I've got on the inside here is sort of like bulging out the back. This part is coming forward because of the tension on the compression strap here so it's gonna kind of make it a little misshapen, so just be aware of that if you're trying to cinch it down. And then another thing about the compression straps is that they actually do block the main compartment zipper, which is a little bit of a hassle, so you can either sort of like loosen them up in order to get the bag open and then they're just kind of like loose staining dangling depending on how much you got the backpack, or you unbuckle them here like that to get them out the way so that you can actually unzip it

 2) This pack for me seems best when not loaded heavily. I put my camera, kit lens, power bank, extra battery, extra shirt and rain jacket, wallet , keys and small items, with total weight of 2.2 kg and it was ok, but heavier than that was not very comfortable while wearing on shirt. If you wear a jacket , than the straps won't dig into your shoulders as much and you can go with 3 or 4 kilos, depends on you

like it more than I thought I would

Super light & sturdy bag

 The most I carry is: my water bottle, a light sweater/jacket, sunglasses, and a hat.  If you're visiting a new city, it's perfect to carry your essentials during the day but it's not designed for heavy stuff for long periods of time.  Once again, I love this backpack and it has served me very well for some trips now. I give it 4 stars only because the straps get a little uncomfortable if you carry too much stuff

 Just beware that you don't want to carry heady loads with this back. Although the materials are very resistant and it can probably handle heavy stuff, the straps aren't designed for that (padding isn't very good, probably so it can be more compact). The most I carry is: my water bottle, a light sweater/jacket, sunglasses, and a hat.  If you're visiting a new city, it's perfect to carry your essentials during the day but it's not designed for heavy stuff for long periods of time

  Once again, I love this backpack and it has served me very well for some trips now. I give it 4 stars only because the straps get a little uncomfortable if you carry too much stuff.

Very convenient portable backpack to carry your essentials.

 Here's why:  Stowing it into its own pouch is a chore; and, results in a lump. I recommend a larger included pouch. It's easier just to throw it flat in my luggage, if I'm looking to take an extra container. The straps might better fit a child, or someone with a seriously narrow frame

Very small. Limited utility. May better suit someone tiny.

I take this little pack along while backpacking. Weighs next to nothing, but very convenient if doing day hikes out from base camp. Even while fetching water, to throw a few bottles, bladder, filter, etc. in

I purchased this over the Sea to Summit bag solely for packing my miscellaneous camping gear in and using it as a carry-on on the Amtrak. This was for a bikepacking trip on the gap and CO canal towpath. I went with his pack because you can fit two water bottles in the side pocket which is awesome it is way more comfortable than the S2S bag. It’s heavier than the S2S bag, but the flexibility and the way the bag sits on your back makes it a lot better for travel

 I would go with the Sea 2 summit bag. But for light, more use travel as a carry-on, this one has it for the win. Also the bag is Not gray, it’s more of a dark green color. Other wise, would have been 5 stars
