The finally completed setup after a year of procrastination...

So it's a fairly major stepup from the ol' Sony 5.1 surround system from the late 90's. Now to work out all the little things that can make chilling out with a good record spinning that little bit even better... Marantz pm6007, cd6007, b&w 607s2, Rel tx5, Yamaha Audiocast, Audio Technica lp120.

Upgrading 2.1 setup (with integrated amp) to 5.1.2 for Atmos

Well either you pay a ton of money for an AVR with pre-outs to use your PM6007 and experience zero benefit, or just sell it which covers the entire receiver cost. Centre channel is the most important one. So the only thing that really makes sense is another LS50 Meta for $900, or the R2C for $1300.

So either way, nearfield listening is the limit so lots of power not necessary. My budget would be about £500 (based in the UK) and I'm not looking for an incremental upgrade. Thinking next step would either be a new amp, maybe the Marantz Pm6007, or a new cart like the Ortofon Black or Rega Exact. I'm not overly worried about lots of bass.

But the PM-s low(ish) output (60watt) and the lack of usb and wireless and wired internet connection took me off. The other package deal I could find in my country (hungary) was oberon 7 with Denon DRA-800h for 1400 euro (1650 dollars), which again, would tick all the boxes but I've read the dac is a bit lackluster if I wanted to upgrade I can't do it with only the lackluster parts (the same problem I have with Marantz 7000n as well, and I also don't have a deal on that one).

Hoping this community can help make my mind up after months of research, reading Reddit posts and reviews online. I came to the conclusion that I'd like to go for the Marantz PM6007 amp due it's phono stage, digital outputs and the impressive reviews seen for that brand of amp.
