The Ace 38 is a fully featured kid's backpacking pack. This pack will continue to grow with your child with 4" of adjustability and an extendable Fit-on-the-Fly hipbelt. It’s got all the features of a full-sized pack, just scaled down for your little guy or girl. Flip It around you can see you've got 5 inches of adjustability so you can keep this pack and adjust as they grow. The Shoulder straps are nicely padded, you've got an adjustable sternum strap The waist straps

 They have a really nice cushioning to them as well, with some breathable mesh on that Flip It around we've got daisy chains for extra gear, There's also a zipper pocket down below that'll give you access to the main compartment and you have this convenient stretchy pocket on the front Now on the bottom of the bag,. This is one of my favorite features,. it has an integrated raincover so the weather starts getting nasty, you're going to be prepared. The Lid on the top is going to offer some nice storage options as well,

 I'm gonna show you where the water bladder this little clip here is to hang the water bladder on down here. There's also a little pocket that you can maybe see so that pocket is just to put your water bladder and nice and easy. Like I said I Don't use it, but if you do, that's a nice feature. I Really like this pocket here

 One of the things I really like about this backpack is that it has this giant shove it pocket right here if it's raining and you're wearing your rain jacket and then it stops raining and you can just quickly take one strap off and shove this in. This backpack has a lot of comfy padding on the arm straps and the back and the hip stretch that this allows you to be able to be hiking and not worrying about adjusting your straps to make it comfy on your hips. I Really like these pockets to put water bottles and trekking poles in. One of the things I like about it is the option to have it on the outside like this or like this one there here

We got this backpack for our 8yr old and a 4 month travel but we tested the cords and it was just to hard for him to open the bag.

 I kept checking in to make sure his back wasn't hurting but we had no issues!  ► Features: >> Pack empty weight: 2lbs 6oz (approximately, according to our scale) >> Capacity: 38L >> Materials: 210 ripstop nylon  This pack features a lot of the same things that my full-sized adult pack has - hip-belt pocket, a rain cover, room for a water bladder, mesh back (for breathability), sleep pad straps - the works!  We're definitely looking forward to getting more use out of the Ace 38 and have a few fun hiking and camping trips lined up for the Spring and Summer months! I'll update this review as time goes on but for now, we're definitely happy with the pack!

I've been slowly introducing my kids to outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and general outdoor fun. Since my kids are still quite young, ages 6 and 4, I typically carry our stuff in my hiking pack. But as they get older, this is obviously bound to change. This park offers some great elevation changes while keeping most of the trail paved and not to difficult for kids

Works great for a 6 Year Old Hiker!

After weeks of surfing the internet reading reviews and knowing what I was looking for I found it in the Ace 38, so I bought it for my 7 year old grandson to introduce him to the JOY of backpacking. The Deuter Fox 30 I purchased prior to this did not adjust to 11" as they advertise, but this one does. The Fox 30's shortest torso adjustment is 13". Nyca now has what he needs and I wanted for him in the Osprey Ace 38 and it's got 21% more capacity than the Fox 30 for the other gear I bought him
