Hi guys. 

Ideally I would like clamshell style, black/neutral colour, have an internal or hidden pocket (for backup credit cards/cash, etc), durable, low key design, and with really comfortable shoulder straps. 

I am a minimalist traveller and have an osprey kestrel 48 for 10 years, which has been so good to me, but I never have more than 5-6kg in it, so it's wayy too big for the way I travel. 

I'm looking at something around the 25L mark that is low key so that I won't stand out as a tourist, but also is comfortable enough to be wearing every day for months at a time.

Something like stratos 24 ticks a lot of boxes for me in terms of comfort, but style is too technical. I have looked at the apogee too, which seems quite good. Would prefer not to have a laptop sleeve.

I'm in australia if that helps. Looking at under 200usd. Many thanks for any suggestions.

Looking for a 20-30L non-technical backpack for long term travel

Overpriced bookbag with a laptop sleeve.

* **Good back support / comfy shoulder straps** : I already struggle with back problems scoliosis and when I travel or hike, I tend to walk a lot. So my number one priority for this bag pack is comfort and support.

* Lightweight/Not too heavy : As a continuation of comfort, it would be nice if it’s not too heavy.

* Laptop space : Even if I end up not using the bag for work, I’ll definitely bring my laptop with me wherever I go so it would be helpful to have a dedicated space.

More importantly, it’s unclear to me which one is best for good back support and comfort.

Some design flaws, but a good deal if you get at around 50$ (which you can)

The bags are similar, and both have most of the items I need, but the differences below made me undecided.

Further, the materials on the **Arcane** looks of better quality. I read some complaints about the cleanliness and durability of the **Raven** on heavy use. Since i will be using this bag every day, this is an important issue.

Looking for suggestions on a somewhat compact backpack to carry every day. 

I used a simple Vans backpack for years, which my kids have taken over. However, that wasn't great for professional use anyways - was just a singular large section and a smaller front section. 

I picked up a Samsonite backpack that I've liked for work, but it was what was available, not exactly what I wanted - has a sleeve for my Chromebook, some organizational pockets in the front, a smaller top pocket that's somewhat shelled, for glasses etc.   


I've been looking at Osprey Quasar backpacks, and just want to make sure I find something I'll like and keep for the long term.   
Smaller size, I'll bring it most everywhere, travel within a few cities range for work. National travel couple times a year.   
Needs a laptop sleeve.   
Would prefer a smaller, formed, maybe hardened pocket for glasses, etc.

BIFL Smaller Every Day Carry Backpack

Good for commuting.

 It isn’t going to match a dedicated hiking backpack with frame sheet, padded waist belt, sternum strap, etc. for carrying hugely heavy loads, but it won’t cause any suffering commuting with a laptop and daily essentials. The bag itself also feels lightweight.  I love that the laptop sleeve is suspended well above the bottom of the backpack, reducing the chances of banging your computer if you accidentally set your bag down harder than intended
