 So that's one of the main things that people really like. like it also does have a chest harness here so this it really stabilizes it to your body. Also has the whistle. whoa that was loud does have a whistle and it does come with see Osprey Almighty guarantee since 1974 if you have a backpack from 1974 up to yesterday, they will repair it or replace it

 That's very helpful to keep I Know it's not going to fall out but you do not want to lose your water. so I think Osprey could have done a better job making that mesh panel go there. So the main compartment has checked this out. It has a computer laptop for a 13-inch laptop or electronic eye iPad or some kind of electronic pad can slip in there or whatever you want put in there if you don't carry your your your iPad it does come with the zippered looped zippered handles

 see how they're cut like at this angle. That's so you can reach back and pull your water bottle out. But it turns out the water bottles have a hard time staying inside there so it does work well with like a regular water bottle like that 12 ounce water bottle. and you put the compression strap because it's small enough but you would rather have your regular water bottle when you're hiking

Osprey DAYLITE Day Pack Review/ Waterfall Hike!

 It tends to be top heavy, especially if you put anything in the front pouch. Items just don't really settle down at the bottom and everything seems to just get pulled up to the top. Also, forget ever using the side mesh for water bottles, any movement and your bottle will fall right out. I still like it for hiking because it has room for a camel pack, so I can store water there, and I can store a few misc

I really wanted to love this backpack but it does have its flaws

 a larger backpack, but it's a small daypack. 18 liters and that's a good thing to have. It does have removable, uh, waist strap on it. It's not a belt, it's really a strap, but you could remove it right here if you wanted to

 but that's a two to three liter water bot. Uh, water reservoirs will work great inside that. um, zip that up on the sides here. We do have some side compression straps on each side and those work good just to cinch your load down

 the Hike Light 18. It is a really good feel to this pack. It's really well built. It does have the Osprey guarantee, which is a lifetime guarantee any product for any reason from any error, they'll return it, replace it, and fix it and make sure you're happy if anything goes awry with it

 There's also a whistle on the sternum strap here. surprisingly loud for how small it is and that will adjust up and down somewhat limited. It's actually limited to this this space here, which is fine. You really want to keep it right across, literally across your sternum and that's why it's called a sternum strap

Osprey Hikelite 18 DAY PACK Review

I also wanted something water resistant (as it might rain on us, and we plan on going kayaking), which is what led me to settle on the Osprey Daylite after sifting through so many bags of the same size. I’m glad to have something bigger than a hip pack (but smaller than the Allpa) to use around the city, because there’s room for more than just the essentials without being too bulky or unwieldy.

Excellent quality, but bizarre fit . . .

 It didn't feel like the laptop was going to fly out at any point and then it did add a little bit of rigidity to the back as well, which is nice depending on. If you feel like this is a little bit too flexible and then you still have all that extra space to pack things on the inside, so i would add something like a water bottle, since i didn't have the hydration pack - and this was nice - because this one Here is a, i believe, a 21 ounce and it fits in there pretty nicely, and then i would have this extra room for whatever else i needed, so it it does, make it a little bit tough. Just if you don't have that hydration, because you do need to stick it on the inside, unless you have a packable one that you can hook either to this front or any of the daisy chain on the other side, so kind of up to you, depending on How you pack things out, but that's what i found worked the best for me. So when it's loose a little bit floppy when it's packed out not quite as much and then i would say for the most part i needed to open it

 This way every time because it doesn't really open if you try and force it open, which is good right, because then the bag is functioning like it's supposed to it won't open unless you want it to, but sometimes i found myself like only pulling it that far And then wanting to get something like my laptop out, which is a little bit bigger and then the cinch is just a little bit on the tighter side. So something to keep in mind. If you find yourself wanting really quick grabs that this, the nature of a cinch does just make it a little bit harder to get into a pack when you need it, so overall it was super comfortable to wear. I really enjoyed the comfort of it

 So i'm going to put that over there and then what i ended up doing a lot of the time. It'S a pull tab there for a little bit easier packing. What i ended up doing. A lot of the time was putting my laptop in here, so this is a 13-inch macbook and it fits in there pretty snug, so there's no false bottom or anything

 That'S for safety and that's if you get lost on a hike and need assistance, or you know if there's an injury or anything like that. That whistle is great and it's right on hand and quick to access for you. The sternum strap is also on a slide and it's a little bit tough to use. I would say this side more than the other side, so that's just an experience with this particular backpack

Osprey Daylite Cinch Review (2 Weeks of Use)

I was browsing the Patagonia site and saw the new Altvia pack lineup. I like that the bags come in different size options for each liter capacity (14-36L). Unfortunately, the color options aren't the best but they're still stylish. 

The 14L bag seems perfect to me. I wish it had outside mesh pockets and maybe a roll top instead of a zipper opening, but the shock cord is really nice. The super small capacity coupled with the suspended mesh back panel is really attractive to me as an every day/cycling pack. 

I love my Gossamer Gear Vagabond packable but there's no ventilation on the back panel and at 23L, sometimes it's too big. The Altvia also comes with a rain cover!

Does anyone have recommendations for similarly sized (sub-20L) packs?

 I could get around the shape of the handle which kind of presses into the back of my neck, but the area for the neck is cut so narrow it presses on either size and would definitely rub on my skin while hiking. Adjusting the chest strap makes no difference. I am an average frame, 5'6 135 pounds, normally wear womens small. Didn't think I had a big neck but it definitely doesn't fit with this bag

 The smaller pack seemed like the perfect addition for short hikes. The overall bag size is great, comfortable fit on lower back but the design of the straps and top of the bag is not comfortable at all.
