The camera is very fast to operate, has great image quality and a lot of features and especially 4k video which is still very rare on the market.  That's a bit smaller than APS-C in DSLR cameras but image quality is basically on the same level. Colors and dynamic range are superb and the camera only loses its breath at higher ISO 3200 or above that. Video recording is one of the main features on this camera. I have seen a lot noted about aperture equivalence - but even with my relatively poor eyesight this thing clearly stinks in low light and I spend a lot of time at higher ISOs as a result (BTW - it only goes down to 200 - not the 100 other reviewers note). By ISO 1600 it is already grainier than my D750 at ISO 6400. Very disappointed. - As for video - my D750 is a CLEAR winner when the video is just HD (the Nikon has unbelievable dynamic range) - but that is as good as it gets for Nikon

  So now for the good/great. - The range of lenses as well as the ability to use all of my Nikon full frame lenses with a Metabones is great. Huge benefit. Almost a necessity as safe to say I have been underwhelmed by the quality of the Panasonic and Olympus lenses I purchased originally for my GX85 (though I'll note I love the GX85 itself)

 In my opinion, this resolution is a better choice to work with than your standard HD 1920x1080 resolution, and here's why. When you zoom in, the level of detail is outstanding at 4K, and noise appears significantly reduced in 4K. The footage just looks cleaner. There are four main things that I think a camera needs to do to be considered as a serious contender as an online content, slash YouTube, slash Facebook, slash whatever new social media is currently happening that I don't know about because I'm old. Any of those, you gotta do these four things. And another, okay, last, last and least, and one last quick disclaimer, I'm not a photographer, nor am I a professional videographer, so we'll only be covering the specs and features that matter to the online content creator

 Seriously, like I said in the beginning of the video, if a camera was announced today with these video features, we'd be calling this one of the best cameras of the last six months. Like it's seriously good. I'm just, I'm really shocked at how good this is for the price you can get it right now. And that is like five years old

 And is it still worth it going into 2019? Let's find out. What's up, everyone? I'm the Everyday Dad, and if I can figure it out, you can figure it out. I'm legitimately shocked at how good the specs of this darn camera are. Seriously, did you hear what we just said? If a camera released with those specs today, it would be one of the top video cameras of the year, instead of a 5-year-old hybrid camera that has kind of fallen out of the limelight

Is the Panasonic GH4 WORTH IT in 2019?!  5 YEARS Later!

 I am just not sure if that lens exists (a tele lens with a large aperture)  Street photography - Not as small as the Fuji X100T but it is way more manageable than my Nikon. The Panasonic 20mm F/1.7 would be your lens of choice here.  Final Verdict -  If for some reason I was FORCED to only choose one camera I would choose the GH4 with one of the Panasonic Leica lenses

 Another great thing is that unlike many camcorders you can shoot fully manual video...

 Early on I used a tele 40-140mm F/4.5-5.4 that nearly caused me to sell the camera. So if you buy the Gh4 make sure that you invest in a few solid lenses

 For one, things like this on the Olympus or the Canon or the Sony, I just hit record and start talking. With the Panasonic, as you can see in that shot, it takes kind of a while to actually find focus. See, one of the most obvious problems with contrast detect autofocus is it's just slow. You know, when I film these videos, there's always that part where I hold the camera up and I'm talking about the build quality and then I pull it down and it reveals my face and I'm standing there talking

 Nowadays, you can find it used for about $450, and you can actually find it cheaper than that if you shop around. So, just what do you get with this eight-year-old camera? Well, there's a 16 megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor, 4K video at 24 and 30 frames per second, and a 3-inch 1.3 million dot, fully articulating LCD screen. Build quality of the GH4 is magnesium alloy, and it is really good

 I mean, it does have its shortcomings. There's bad autofocus and there's no in-body image stabilization. But having said that, if you're a filmmaker on a budget and you're literally looking for something under $500, I don't think you're gonna find another camera with this many video-centric features in that $450 price range. You know, you can find other cameras in that price range that have good-looking video, namely like Sony a6000 or a6300, but you're not gonna find a camera in that $450 range that has that many video-centric features

 The GH4 doesn't disappoint. You know, with the GH4, you have all the picture profiles that you would expect and you have the addition of CineLite D, CineLite V, which we're filming in currently, and V-Log. Not to mention, you've got a ton of other options with codecs and bit rates that the GH3 didn't have. And of course, the biggest change of all is where the GH3 topped out at 1080p, 60 frames per second

 Noise is also apparent on lower ISO values, but this can be cleaned without a problem. So to round things up, GH4 is a camera I would not object only myself. The thing that makes it special is simply the way all the important factors come together, like ergonomics, operation speed, autofocus speed and high image quality. Long battery life and completely silent operation are also high on my list of important features

 As you probably know, the sensor in GH4 is of the 4x3 size. 17x13mm and has 16 megapixels. That's a bit smaller than APS-C in DSLR, but image quality is basically on the same level. Colors and dynamic range are superb and the camera only loses its breath at higher ISO, 3200 and above
