If you want something cheaper than the Brother HL-L2325DW, get the Pantum P2502W. Like the Brother, this is also a print-only unit, so there isn't a scanner. Its document print quality is outstanding, and its toner cartridge yields a little over 2000 pages. It prints pretty quickly at 23 pages per minute; however, it takes a while to warm up and doesn't support automatic double-sided printing. Unfortunately, this printer tends to push printed sheets off the output tray, which can be inconvenient as you'll have to rearrange your prints into the right order. This issue can also cause misaligned prints, wasting more time and paper. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's an inconvenience nonetheless. If you want to save yourself the hassle, the Brother is a better choice. This model can get the job done; just be aware that you might run into some problems occasionally.

I bought this to be a quick and easy to use, black and white laser printer. I need a printer available, and until my office gets rearranged and the new furniture put in place, my regular printer isn't available. I set this new printer up in my bedroom and read through the manual to get it set up to be available for wifi printing. (This was an absolutely non-negotiable requirement

What are the smallest wireless printers that can print US legal sized paper? 8, 11 inch

I like that it prints fast, and was on sale for $84. I dislike that the toner that ships with it will only be good for a few hundred low-quality prints (if i had to estimate, maybe 700 pages.) That's still a better deal than most inkjets, and for the cost of equivalent ink it makes this a cheaper printer to own. The major downside is inconsistent print quality; even when doing high-quality prints from Illustrator the printer will leave "jaggies" along font curves and some vector art, other times it will print the exact same content artifact-free

 The toner's are not substantially cheaper than their competitors making the long-term cost of ownership the same, your up front cost of ownership will determine product quality and safety, though.

 For my use I ran a 20amp cable to a single-outlet circuit in the garage since I don't want this causing a fire. Since I don't print often (maybe once a month for pre-production checks) this is not a huge issue, but if you're a student or professional employee that needs to belt out hundreds of pages a day/week/month you might make sure there isn't a better printer out there, first. The toner's are not substantially cheaper than their competitors making the long-term cost of ownership the same, your up front cost of ownership will determine product quality and safety, though.
