 You had these on both sides of the bag on the other side of the bag. I just have my sunglasses: just above the water bottle, pockets are compression straps. These compression straps are good for bringing the load of the bag closer to your body so that you have a better center of gravity when you're carrying. There is also a little bit of elastic webbing to help you tidy up that strap slack, which is helpful, a little tip with these compression straps

 There is this air mesh wicking, which is on the shoulder, strap and back panel, which will provide extra comfort and breathability on your hikes on the shoulder straps. There are two accessory loops here for adding additional gear. Here we have the Patagonia p6 logo, which is a nice touch coming a bit further down on the shoulder strap there is an adjustable sternum strap that sternum strap has two points of adjustment on this strip of daisy chain webbing. Here, where you can properly align the sternum strap to where your sternum is on your body

 So you have less of a chance of that gear, falling out it's a little bit of a tip for you coming to the harness system of the bag. We have a very well padded and breathable shoulder, strap and back panel. For a normal day I usually carry around a folder, laptop, charger, 2 food containers, a steel water bottle (1liter), a sweater, books, pencil case, a big wallet, sketchbook, notebooks, a pack of tissues and sometimes additional small stuff or more food.

For a light weekend I pack 3 sets of underwear 3-4 shirts, pj-s, a sweater, 2 trousers, laptop with charger, bottle, big wallet, pencil case with sketchbook, toiletries and some tissues.

I am a petite woman and I always wear a black wool coat. I'd like the backpack to match it. I want it to be strong, because I sometimes carry around heavy things in it and all my previous backpacks got torn because of this.
I also live in central europe and don't want to pay a lot for shipping from the US.

I'm looking for a big backpack that I can use every day AND can fit 2-3 days worth of clothes for traveling.

Maybe not Worth the Price

 So this elastic cord that you have you can put it in there, strap it down, gives you a little bit of added stability. You also have some webbing up here on the front so you can clip your carabiner or any other things, and then you have a sternum strap right here across the center which you can move up and down right there that's also well done, and then from the front or the back you have this elastic cord for extra gear. It is adjustable so you can put your bike helmet on here, strap it in securely, or if you're wearing a jacket or a fleece sweater that you need to take off on a hike because it starts to warm up. You can also strap it right in here and tie it down with this bungee

 so this is a highly breathable mesh on the back panel and shoulder harness. so it's supposed to keep you comfortable all day. On the sides you have this stretch material which is done really nicely, then you just pop it out. It holds two large water bottles I've tried with a hydro flask

 For some of those bottles, they're a little bit taller. or maybe you put a tripod in here or an umbrella. So this elastic cord that you have you can put it in there, strap it down, gives you a little bit of added stability.  I put in a Macbook Pro 15 and it was fine. You also have this main compartment which zips down from the center so this main compartment is actually, uh, pretty roomy. It is also padded and you have a lined tablet sleeve so again, this part is padded. You can see the padding and you have some fleece inside to protect the screen, but on the inside notice how there's a bend right there or a fold so if you pop it out like this, it actually does add a significant amount of room

I work in the construction industry in an office position, I'm desperate need of a backpack for both work and personal use, I like tactical MOLLE bags but every one of those I've tried is meant for holding a ton of stuff and it ends up just being 80% wasted space. I need the following things all in one backpack but again I don't want something huge.

* Macbook air
* 2 calendar sized notebooks
* chargers, AirPods, small every day items like glasses cleaning wipes and pens
* 36 oz Yeti bottle. This is the other problem I have as most backpacks have too small of a water pouch, so I'm kind of stuck with MOLLE since they have larger pouches

Bonus points if I can fit my small Canon T3 in the bag too but that's not absolutely necessary. Again I'm mainly looking for a small to medium sized bag, preferably MOLLE for the water bottle pouch, but NOT something made for the damn army rangers

Can someone recommend a good backpack that isn't gigantic

This would be a 5 star review if the straps weren’t so itchy and stiff. It is impossible to wear without a jacket, it will immediately scratch your shoulders, neck, anywhere it touches. I saw that mentioned in other reviews but decided to risk it. Otherwise it is a near perfect bag

  2) My old North Face Recon had a big front mesh pocket that you could stuff a whole jacket/fleece/jeans/etc in there. The Chacabuco's front straps would not be able to do that at all and, in my opinion, are kind of useless.  Also, the zippers are indeed very small compared to my old North Face Recon. This is not a flaw as they work perfectly fine, I just thought I'd mention it because I saw someone else online say they were annoyed by how small the zippers are, and initally I was too
