The Peak Design Everyday is one of our favorites because of its combination of style and practicality. It has a massive main compartment with nifty adjustable velcro dividers that allow you to configure the storage in a variety of different ways for computers, chargers, camera equipment, and more. It also has a second slot at the back with multiple computer sleeves. What this all means is that this laptop bag can carry a lot of stuff. It looks great for the office or college classes and it has features like magnet closures and a host of smaller pockets to organize headphones, pens, and all of the miscellaneous stuff that just ends up in a bag.
There's not a whole lot for us to knock with this model. If we were forced to find a few things, we can't look away from the price. It is an expensive option. Though we think it is worth the money for heavy users, it's no doubt a limiting factor. Because of its size, we also noticed that it can look and feel quite large for people with smaller frames. With all of this in mind, we still think this is one of the best packs around for work, school, and play.

So I've spent the last 2 days researching backpack non-stop. I'm planning on doing a 3-6 months travel next summer around SEA and possibly some Eastern Europe (go away COVID). I usually travel with a Kelty Redwing 50l bag with all of my clothes/toiletry. The Kelty usually get check-in on long haul or the overhead compartment when able. 

This bag will carry my camera (A7iii), a couple of lenses, a gimbal (Weebill-s), my MBP (16in), and a hoodie with some knick-knack.

My requirements are:

1. Be small enough to be able to fit underneath the seat.
2. Be able to fit everything listed above.
3. Not too heavy.
4. decently comfortable/durable. 
5. Doesn't scream camera backpack
6. Ideally back opening to keep the straps clean, side access at the minimum.

Seems easy enough but finding one that fits all of the criteria above has been quite difficult.

1. The Wandrd Prvke 21l checked all the boxes beside the weight and possibly a bit too small ( on the upper end of how much I am willing to pay for a bag also)
2. The Incase DSLR Pro pack doesn't seems durable/comfy.
3.Vanguard VEO SELECT 49, lack of reviews/question about durability.
4. Gitzo Advantury 30L same as the Vanguard, couldn't find much reviews on it and it is heavy just like the Wandrd.
5. Get the Deuter Freerider Pro 30 and put a camera cube in it. Not sure if my MBP16 will fit in the front pocket with my laptop sleeve. 


Does anyone know of any other bag? the Wandrd Prvke 21l seems like the best choice at this point in time but I want to explore all of my options before selling my kidney for it.

<p>edit: found a sweet local deal for a 21L Wandrd Prvke 21L, bought it, and waiting on my friend to drop it off. Super excited. Will update how it is after a couple months of use.</p>

Looking for the perfect camera backpack for carry-on....

The side pockets meant for a camera stand or water bottle are very small. They added a stretchy fabric so the pocket can expand, however it's not enough. The pocket opening is way too small even with this adjustability. It would have been better if one pocket has a wider opening to allow bigger items, but instead both pockets are the same size, and small

 It was in perfect condition, no loose/extra stitching. I got used to the opening/closing mechanism very quickly. The adjusting laptop pocket is a very nice touch. I have a 13 inch laptop that I can easily grab and store

Large items that would fit fine in a normal backpack simply take up too much space in this bag. Sometimes I need to take an extra pair of shoes with me to work. If I put them in the bag, along with my water bottle that wont fit in the side pocket, I pretty much have no space left. I can't even fit my shoes and bottle in the bag without having to take out all of the dividers

Help me choose! Everyday backpack 20L vs 30L

 The flap zipper also gets snagged on the corner of the main flap when trying to zipper close the side flap with one hand so your gear won't fall out. High quality material build makes it a bit stiff. Not a plus if you are in wet conditions and wanting to quickly access your camera, shoot and then return it.

Not a fan of the front cross strap between the two shoulder straps..Difficult to secure to the other strap and then feels like a choke hold once attached and it was in a lowered position.

Bought this to carry R5 and 2 small lenses while hiking around in Iceland. Hard to use side flaps as they want to close rather than allow easy access. Zippered pockets on inside of the flaps are fine, but slide ins do not keep material secure unless bag is vertical. The outside pockets could be larger/deeper to accommodate waterbottle or travel tripod

Average Usability, but High Quality

What is your work bag?

I've had the 20L for about 8 month, and one of the main zippers broke on me, which didn't leave a good impression on how easily the zipper would fall apart.  Anyways, I decided to get the 30L instead, since it is able to carry all of my camera gears along with some other accessories. The bag itself is great. The biggest pro about it is the flexibility of compartmentalize the interior space

 One thing I did find that's bothersome is the relative thin shoulder straps. The thickness is identical to the ones on the 20L. The straps will sometimes dig into the shoulder/upper chest area when at certain angles, which is quite uncomfortable. The sternum strap helps a little with this issue, but it does happen from time to time

Best alternative?

 I'm sort of wishing I went for the 20l instead. Could turn into a bit of a painful nightmare when I pack my camera equipment too. Really disappointing that Peak Design didn't put more padding into the shoulder straps, which I can't understand. All that money spent on R&D and they cheap out on the padding
