So what I'm going to do is I'm going to bring this over here to the SUV sorry about that. We're going to unlock the SUV Open this up and this is the base that comes with the car seat over here

 Now if you take a look up here at a side impact protection over here. Okay, it's adjustable side impact protection. So I'm going to show you a really, really cool thing. if you walk around to the back of the car seat over here, let's just get the camera nice and low over here

 Now when you have it at the tallest position over here, you can also move this little guard and it clips into place just like that. So that means that you are going to get the maximum protection for the baby over head. just like that. Now it's actually really easy to install it into onto the base and I'll show you how it works

 Now, if you take a look right here, you can see that there's actually something that says stage One in here and that's because this right here will give a newborn baby, a young baby, a smaller baby some extra support. Now, as your baby grows, you can actually remove this stage One piece and that gives you the full size of the car seat. So it's really cool because the car seat grows with your baby. As you can see right here, the other piece says stage two

 The other side is perfect and has plenty of clearance so I know that if both sides were the same, there would be no issues at all. Other than that, the seat looks great.  I'm sending this one back because for $350, it should be perfect. The replacement is already on its way and I will be shipping this one back tomorrow

Nice Except for Defect

 Brave This Italian made car seat is super safe but also super stylish and has a lot of cool features that really make this feel like a luxury pick for your little one. Now my husband and I were sold just after hearing about the safety features that was the most important to us, but I was also pretty happy that it was such a good looking car seat because you know got to keep up with all the stylish Instagram moms out there. The whole car seat weighs about 10 pounds and it will hold your baby from 4 to 35 pounds or when they reach 32 inches, whichever comes first. It comes with a dual stage cushion system, which is really cool since likely you don't know how big your baby's gonna be when they're born

 The entire headrest and shell of the needle car seat are lined with energy absorbing foam for extra impact protection and the head 2includes side-impact protection. The baby is buckled in using a five-point harness system and there's an anti rebound bar on the base for the car seat. The handle on the car seat also becomes an anti rebound bar when using baseless installation. The base has a load leg up front to keep the car seat extra secure and the energy management foot at the bottom of the load leg activates during a crash by crumpling and absorbing energy away from the baby

 The neato car seat itself is 17 inches wide across at its widest point, which actually makes this a pretty narrow car seat. And that's good to know if you have more than one car seat and you're hoping to fit three across in your vehicle. Alright, now let's get to some of the safety features because I know all of us parents. That's what we are most concerned about when we are car seats shopping

FIX THE CANOPY!

 The other thing which bothers me a lot is the lack of adjustment for the headrest. The head of a normal child especially under 15 lbs will not be fully secured by the side flaps on the car seat (similar to those you have on an airplane seat). There is a picture showing those flaps being adjustable, but that's "barely" possible to the point where we have to put additional fabric around the head and neck of the child to prevent it from wobbling around. Our child was also looking very uncomfortable in this seat but because we don't have another one to compare it's hard to say

We bought this seat because it had the best crash test performance in 2016 so we naturally wanted the best for our newborn. One of the few things I didn't like were the fabric of the head cover because although it's water repellent it feels very cheap and thin, it's translucent so it does not fully block sunlight and it's the type that snags easily. The other thing which bothers me a lot is the lack of adjustment for the headrest. let me start with the reasons i purchased this seat and the things i like it: easy adjustable shoulder strap height infant cushion that cradled my 5lb baby and kept her in a safe breathing position the level on base to ensure carseat is installed at correct angle the turn know for adjusting the angle of base...no rolled towels or noodles needed under it light/cool material carseat came in black and pink  we have been using this seat for 5 weeks

Notice the handle has a purple opening on each side that you could sew the seat belt into if you are using the car seat without the base? That opening is too narrow. For the money, I wish I bought a different seat

Overall, I love the brand and am confident in the safety of the seat. I took off a star because the seat has an older manufacture date and will expire in 4 years making me need to replace it sooner than I would with a seat manufactured this year.  I also want lighter colored fabric which is why I choose the cream. The straps are easy to adjust and I LOVE that it has strap holders. Trying to get a baby into a car seat while holding the straps up so you're not sitting the child on them is impossible. Peg perego has elastic strap holders which hold them out of the way for you

5oz, 16" in length. She spent 27 days in the NICU and then we finally got to bring her home. She had reflux and needed to be in an upright position, but also well supported and not folded in half like many seats do. In this one she rests at a comfortable angle, but not stark upright

 The seat comes with 2 stages of padding for smaller infants, essential for preemies. These are great as they come with the seat from the manufacture so you con't have to worry about the safety of positioning a newborn with a rolled-up blanket. The seat features elastic shots to place the harness clips in while not in use. Although, I have only used this feature once, it seems to be a relatively new feature among high-end infant seats

 The UPPAbaby Mesa also features harness slots.  The sunshade is large and light in weight, but offer 50 UV protection, which I much prefer over covering my infant in chemical-filled sunscreen. This brings me to another point that attracted me to this particular seat. It is made in Italy! I looked long and hard for infant products made in the USA or Europe as so many are made cheaply in China and covered in harmful chemicals, not what I want to expose my little one to

 The previous generation of Peg seat had a raised rubberized handle to carry. This one does not and I often have to physically hold the sunshade over my daughter while carrying the seat which weighs a ton.
