 The Xbox One controller is pretty damn good for, well, the Xbox and PC. But if you want something a little bit more out of your controller, the Xbox One Elite probably comes to mind. But Razer, that's known for its PC peripherals, is offering its own high-end solution in the Wolverine Ultimate. And while it's a great piece of hardware, the price will have you thinking twice

 As for other features, it has that Razer Chroma RGB lighting around the home button that you can customize through Razer software. The handles have a grippy, rubberized texture, and you'll find on-the-fly mute and volume controls on the bottom row of buttons. Oh, and you can't forget the neat carrying case that comes with the controller. Razer's Wolverine Ultimate is built incredibly well and has some great features, but for 160 bucks and something that only works through a wire, it's a tough sell, especially when the Xbox One Elite controller is cheaper and works wirelessly

 In Destiny 2, I programmed jump, reload, crouch, and weapon switching to the back triggers and the extra shoulder buttons. This way, I'd never have to take my right thumb off the stick. I felt a lot more nimble and agile. I was able to react, fire back, and leap into the air or do a slide to throw off enemies in crucible matches

 However, this design has a slight flaw in that the cap can pop out if you press left or down with too much pressure. The face buttons feel just like mouse clicks. While this takes some getting used to, the distinct tactile feedback and short travel distance of A, B, X, and Y is much more responsive. Now, I played through hours and hours of Cuphead and Destiny 2 with the Wolverine Ultimate, and the controller was a joy to use

Razer's new gamepad has plenty of great features and six extra programmable buttons, but does it live up to its price tag? Is it better than the Xbox One Elite controller?

He has a wired headset with microphone. If he ends up wanting to sit far from the laptop, using the wireless controllers, then a wireless headset would be a worthy buy. Maybe this Turtle Beach headset?. Apparently it will require this adaptor to connect to my son's laptop (but the Microsoft Xbox wireless controllers don't need the adaptor, right?)

The Razer Wolverine for Xbox app is very clearly an Xbox One app quickly ported to Windows 10, because you can't control it with your mouse or keyboard. You need to use the Wolverine to navigate all menus and change all settings, which is slightly inconvenient. Customization on Windows is also much less robust than with the Astro C40 or Xbox Elite Series 2 gamepads. You can program the six buttons on the back with any input, or set any of them to Focus (reduce sensitivity on either analog stick) or Agile (increase sensitivity on either analog stick), but you can't reprogram the standard face buttons or triggers

 Curiously, the gamepad can't be directly programmed through the Razer Synapse software on PC, even though that software is used to customize nearly every other Razer peripheral you connect to your computer. This means that, while the Wolverine Ultimate's lighting is technically Razer Chroma, you can't directly sync it to your Razer headset, keyboard, or mouse through Razer Synapse, and have to manually control how its colors change.

The Razer Wolverine Ultimate is a high-end wired controller with a price to match. It has six additional programmable buttons, on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment for the analog sticks, and even customizable lighting. However, it's also $160, when for $20 more you can get the Astro C40 TR or Xbox Elite Series 2, both of which offer your choice of wired or wireless gameplay and even more programming options. The on-controller headset adjustments are a nice touch, and the Wolverine features more additional buttons than the other gamepads, but neither aspect is worth the loss of wireless connectivity, especially when the direction pad doesn't feel nearly as good

 Customization on Windows is also much less robust than with the Astro C40 or Xbox Elite Series 2 gamepads.  And what this does pretty much is think of it like a mouse, you know, like a gaming mouse with a DPI switcher. With the focus, when you actuate that and use the thumbsticks, it, like, lowers your DPI. Like I said, think of it that way, where the thumbstick now is much more precise and it doesn't move as fast. As for if you press M6, which is the agility control, that makes your thumbstick go quicker and faster, like you're increasing your DPI

 I actually do, like I said, prefer it in ergonomics over the Xbox One only controller. It's just a bummer that it's not wireless. And I do kind of prefer the the rubberized feel versus the plastic feel, but all around for the price point, it is awesome. If you want to pick it up, I highly recommend it

 But as to the remappable buttons on the backside, we actually have two additional controls that the Xbox One Elite controller does not have. So let's check this all out. So first things first, I mentioned it in the beginning, but we do have two additional thumbsticks. You get a taller concave thumbstick and a convex thumbstick

What is your favourite XBox controller?

I bought this controller after my gen 1 Xbox Elite Controller started getting unacceptable left stick drift and had broken LB twice. I wanted the gen 2 Elite, but I decided to give this a shot. My main game is Rocket League, so this isn't from the perspective of a shooter main.  I've only had it about a month so I can't speak to it's durability, but I will update the review if something becomes a problem

 The Wolverine forces you to hold the controller with less force, and as such my comfort and dexterity have increased after the switch. Along the same lines, the buttons are super clicky and tactile, feeling more like a mouse press than a button as others have said. This also encourages lighter and faster touches, as opposed to the forceful mashing that I was used to on the mushy membrane Elite buttons.  So overall it is a supremely comfortable controller to use for long gaming sessions once you have gotten used to the required grip, and it has all the features you could want for a "tournament ready" controller

 This took a lot of getting used to, but now that I am comfortable with it I actually find it encourages a much more light and deft grip on the controller. The Elite encourages you to squeeze tightly, and I had to actively fight that urge to maintain quicker and lighter presses. The Wolverine forces you to hold the controller with less force, and as such my comfort and dexterity have increased after the switch. Along the same lines, the buttons are super clicky and tactile, feeling more like a mouse press than a button as others have said

 This is available for Xbox one as well as PC and PC. You have to go to the Windows Store and I believe the F is called Razer Wolverine for Xbox. You can download the old Razer synapse app for Xbox on PC as well, but it will just direct you to download this one as soon as you plug in your controller and open up the app, because this one is a bit newer. In my opinion, the old one work better and was smoother, but the new one

 I don't even know if there are any that are considered. Pro controller is other than scuff and Microsoft. Elite series, so the razer wolverine ultimate is a wired controller, which I don't really mind. There'S no weight for a battery in here

 I say more natural to reach not natural to reach, because I don't find leaves as easy to hit as I do, the bigger buttons on the back of the term. In addition, they're not bad, you can definitely get used to them, but unfortunately, the m5 and m6 buttons are not as good. The feedback is nice. The sound is nice

 Basically, it just shows you a bunch of stuff up here. You can name your controller or something different. So let's go ahead and do that and then you can go to slot 1 or 2 or profile hit a hit edit and now you can go ahead and change the button. So if you want to assign different buttons, if you want to play with the lighting effects, as you can see, there is a few different lighting effects available

I love sports games but I got Introduced to apex and it took over. I was doing research on controllers with paddles that can help with meds, shields cells and nades because In high pressure situations I felt like the Xbox controller was not cutting it out for me. Found great reviews on the Wolverine ultimate and purchased it. Controller comes with detachable d-pad and different size thumbsticks which works great

I got the 2nd controller within a month and this time I really took care of it, after another 2 months the controller gave out again and did the same process again. Received controller within a month and I think I was being naive thinking that the controller would last  me this time (I should of just gotten the extended warranty smh) but after 4 months it finally gave out and the warranty ended. If you guys choose to buy this controller don’t make the mistake I did and buy warranty for it because it will give out on you.

 Found great reviews on the Wolverine ultimate and purchased it. Controller comes with detachable d-pad and different size thumbsticks which works great.

 At times I left the controller plugged in all day into the Xbox and I felt like I probably burned out something in the controller. I filed a case with razer and informed them what happened to the controller, It was still covered by the 1yr warranty and they sent me the return package slip.

 Razer headset keyboard mouse etc really wanted to match the controller as well. Might give the Raiju ultimate a try but seeing how the controller seems very closely built to the wolverine I'll probably pass.

- Now the biggest con for me and why i decided to return this was, the back top trigger button was causing my left middle finger to become bruise. The way the backside of the controller pops out it didn't allow my middle finger to rest comfortable on that button. To better describe it, it was as if my finger was resting over a bump to press that button. However, the right side was perfectly fine, I would assume that my left hand position is different from the right as the analog stick is higher up VS on the right side where the analog stick is on the bottom section of the controller

- 2 back buttons in one row, pretty efficient and ease of use and reach, however it is a little farther towards the center so if you have smaller size hands definitely wouldn't find the controller comfortable.

- clicky right 4 buttons, anytime you can get a mouse click type of button get it, definitely better for FPS games.

Info on the desk you have?  If  are you ever interested upgrading your controller, id recommend the wolverine ultimate by RAZER, If you are have a PS4 then Raiju Ultimate would work for both (one order is arriving today so i cant give first hand recommendation on that yet)
