Here's a nice little spot, so when I first tried my pack out a couple of days ago, I hadn't really gotten educated on how to adjust it, so I don't think I had the straps tightened in the correct spots and adjusted to size properly. but I think this time I've got everything adjusted pretty well. It's not too heavy on my shoulders and most of the weight is being carried around down my by my hips, so it feels pretty comfortable

I see much neck pain in your future with that pack. I'd return it because your $100 will be wasted if you you buy gear that doesn't work. REI's used gear site has 2 packs for around $120 that will probably fit longer torsos - REI Trailbreak 60 and The North Face Terra 65. REI has a 30 day return policy for used gear

It's critical to get a pack that fits your torso length and as others have said, this pack is way too short for your torso. Measure your torso if you haven't yet: [URL REMOVED] scour Reddit's r/GearTrade site. Some good deals there. Good luck and happy hiking!

I miss my old Recon

While Northface makes a good quality bag this bag is too narrow for use as a book bag for a high school or college student. The opening is small and my son struggles to get more than 3 books in and out of the bag. If looking to just pack your laptop, a jacket and one book for a hiking trip then this is your bag but not for a book bag for a student. I am sorry I made this purchase

Not Ideal for a book at for HighSchool or College

Purchased a few weeks ago, just took it on a 3 day backpacking trip in North Georgia and it worked perfectly, and was amazing for the price, however there are some things I’m picky about that it is missing.

 The Trailbreak pack is very well designed and is honestly the minimum I'd recommend to anyone who's looking to start backpacking. The pack is well thought out and the build quality and fit between this pack and cheaper ones is night and day. This bag has a HUGE compartment for me to fit my cheaper (larger) sleeping bag in. It has less pockets than my old pack, but is so well thought out that you really don't need extra pockets and it still has ample room to fit everything you're taking with you

It's crazy how much a properly fitting pack can change how you feel when on the trail. I previously had a different, value-brand pack and no matter what I did, it would not fit right. The Trailbreak pack is very well designed and is honestly the minimum I'd recommend to anyone who's looking to start backpacking. The pack is well thought out and the build quality and fit between this pack and cheaper ones is night and day

Night and Day Difference - Coming From a Novice

Overall, the Trailbreak 60 was a pleasure to wear, very comfortable with considerable weight (30-35 pounds), and easy to use. Comfort is paramount on the trail, and the waist straps, shoulder padding, and air flow for the mid and lower back make this backpack a pleasure for lugging gear.
