 There's like a thin layer of just like net so that I can see that the air is just going to kind of go through and hopefully relieve any of the sweat that is happening in my back area. This There is a secret little pocket up here just so you know. um where you can put any little things which is adorable so we're gonna go inside. I'm gonna open it and I'm gonna talk to you about what they kind of recommend for things to go

REI Co-Op Traverse 35 Camping Backpack Review

Friction was a problem for me in Coyote Gulch/Dry Fork as so much of it was not hiking "upright" and the shoulder straps moved around while leaning, crawling, etc.  Synching the straps enough to where they did not move was uncomfortable and made puting the pack on difficult because the arm holes were now too small.  Every 'dismount/remount' of the pack required losening straps to have enough room to get it back on.

Without this clamp holding the shoulder straps together (image), the shoulder straps pull more outward and allow the pack to move around, creaing friction on the front of the shoulders.  You also lose a guide for your hydration tube..

Rating this is difficult ~ The nyon, the whistle, the pocket for the rain cover, the day pack, etc. ~ this pack definitely is intended to be the best in its class.  But I can't wear it again the way that it is.  I am going to mark it average because perhaps casual hikers won't have this clamping issue but no, I cannot recommend it to a friend

 A lot of the problems are related to weight savings, which makes sense for a hiking like day pack.

 The water bottle spots on the sides are big and can be tightened, very nice. Even that front netting is useful sometimes.  But I don't really hike, I bought the pack as a daily driver and it's not suited. The pack just isn't robust enough, but then it's a little too tall so it flops over when you set it down

I've purchased this backpack for my TMB (Tour du Mont Blanc) trek. The first pleasant surprise when I've got it was its weight - the pack is extremely lightweight, which helps a lot to reduce overall weight one has to carry. I've used it to carry everything needed for a two-week trek (w/o a tent and a sleeping bag), overall between 7 and 10 Kg, and was very pleased how the pack fit my back and shoulders. Needless to say that the pack is strong and durable enough to survive such trek

A good backpack for day treks

I had a geology field camp for my school and I needed a pack for everything when we had to go on some vigorous hikes and this came in handy. It can fit a decent amount of stuff and not feel too heavy because elf the weight distribution. However, there are two things I noticed. I’m disappointed that the side pockets weren’t bigger for my big water bottle

 On the down side, the chest strap popped off of its attachment point twice, it is fairly easy to reattach but an annoyance. The zippers on the hip belt pockets work open as you walk, this could be serious depending on what you keep in these pockets. I had to keep an eye on them and keep them zipped closed.

I had an opportunity to test the Traverse 60 Pack (men's small) on a few winter bushwhacking hikes. The fit is good, the hip belt rides just right on me. I am on the shorter side and maxed out the height adjustments, I usually use a medium sized pack but this worked well. The top converts to a day pack easily

) There is just a bit of space, enough to let some air flow between the pack and your back.  Now to the negative. The torso straps are huge, way longer than needed. Granted I'm on the skinnier side, but I had to adjust them all the way down and now there is about a foot of extra strap hanging on both sides

I had a avid hiker take a look at my new pack, he thought it was good. Perhaps a bit on the smaller side, but it is only called a 40L. The mesh backing is nice. (If you've run a backpack blower think of the air vents running through that

Good all around

I consider this an all in one pack, it has a lot of padding to aid in the comfort. Definitely, helps when you have light loads, you can barely feel it. I'll have to come back with another review once I place a medium/heavier load. Also, it appears to withstand at least light rain
