 Okay, so overall, I think pretty good purchase, especially for a small space. I got this from my office, which i think is going to be perfect a lot of times. I ought to be using the headphones anyway, but I kept I still soft music in the background, and I think this is a pretty good unit for the cost and certainly attractive. Looking all the buttons seem to move nicely and again we have a fair amount of options on the back

Sangean WR-15 Unboxing

 great. I didn't necessarily expect it to totally "wow" me, but I can honestly say that I was expecting a bit "more". Usually it sounds pretty good, but sometimes it's just muddy and is almost always lacking in any sort of definition. It has decent low-end but everything else is just not clear enough

 I paid $88 when I ordered this, and with the non-stellar audio and imperfect cabinet I feel this was about $20 to $30 overpriced. It's a shame- if this radio held up to all of the hype of the WR-11, I would have easily bought a few more. Now I have reservations about even trying the WR-11. I wish I could have listened to this unit locally before purchasing- I probably wouldn't have if I did

Nice little radio, but audio is not clear and quality may be lacking. Bottom line: overpriced.

 I'm sure I'll get the antenna issue resolved, and I'll then change my rating to 5 stars.

Tuning Issue with External Antenna

I've had this for several years, and the sad reality is I just don't use it much. It's impressive when you first turn it on, but not so much after that.  The bass is just absurd and ruins music. It's very much like you switched on the bass boost on a walkman, except there is no bass boost switch so you can't listen in normal mode

Something which prodded me to write this review now is the Sony ICF-19 I recently bought, which is sitting on my desk right next to the rarely-used Sangean

 It has the selectivity of a typical pocket radio, which is disappointing considering it has all the room you could want inside for using an ideal set of components.  Sensitivity is not a problem, especially with an external antenna added. .  The Good I found the WR-15BK to be aesthetically pleasing and the fit and finish on my unit appears to be perfect. FM reception is selective and no drift was experienced. The controls are solid and well-designed for their functions

 I am really impressed with the sound rendition for such a small form-factor device. The highs are crisp without sounding tinny and and the lows are pretty full - remarkably so for a single 3-inch speaker.  The In-between I have not cracked the case to determine if the radio is using Superheterodyne or Digital Signal Processing, but I suspect that it is the latter. When tuning away from very strong FM stations, I can hear the unit briefly step off of the signal and reacquire

Looks & sounds great, poor AM reception

 The audio can be a bit bass-heavy, especially when listening through headphones.  Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. Listening to local radio stations is a welcome respite from navigating the endless sea of streaming content. And using the Aux cord forces me to put down my phone while I’m cooking, reading or having dinner— honestly, a good thing!

 The compact, vertical design of the WR-15 also was a better fit for its placement on my small kitchen table.  I love this tabletop radio. The audio quality is rich and can be brought up to impressive volumes. The included FM antenna allows me to get clear reception of stations broadcasting from 40+ miles away

 I’m glad I can switch seamlessly between the radio and audio content on my phone (podcasts, streaming internet radio, etc.). The compact, vertical design of the WR-15 also was a better fit for its placement on my small kitchen table.  I love this tabletop radio

Great listening experience

 Wow, what a piece of crap. Tivoli's can't seem to hold a station to save their life and the audio quality might be the worst I've ever heard - tons of overmodulation, even on classical music..

 That said, I'm convinced after two different radios from Sangean that they are the only radio out there worth your dollar. Bravo!

 That is where my compliments for Tivoli end. Shame on me for trying them out in LA when I purchased the Tivoli Audio PALBTGB PAL BT Bluetooth Portable AM/FM Radio. Wow, what a piece of crap.  Wow, Sangean still impresses. It is nearly as good looking as a Tivoli. The audio quality is so superior its laughable - beautiful, rich, clear, etc. I only wish it had the option of bluetooth

 In a bigger room it doesn't really sound that good at all. These things have all been said before I am just adding to them. Dear Sangean, Because you have not addressed the common complaints why not get rid of the AM and add a tone control? Put it right under the dial. It would look good and make it a 5+ radio
