It's really solid. It feels really solid on both of my blocks. Sometimes what a control paddle lacks, this paddle doesn't have a problem with that

But no face texture, and dead spots made this a retired paddle in my bag after getting the Amped S2. Selkriks aren't my thing.

If you're looking at Selkirk paddles, I'd recommend the Amped line (it's more power oriented than the standard Vanguard line), in the Invikta shape (which is their longer handle elongated shape, which I think will be better for you as a tennis player). Selkirk paddles all around have pretty great spin (particularly if you ever further upgrade to a Power Air or Labs paddle).

Ex college table tennis player here. Now 4.5-5.0 pickleball player. I've tested 10+ paddles and the selkirk S2 Amped is still the best. For me, it's significantly better than their two newer generations, better than every gearbox, better than every prokennex.
