 Nice and light, surprisingly light. When it comes to fit on a pair of headphones, it's as important, in my opinion, as sound. There's my phone going off. Hello? Hey, I'm in the middle of making a video, like actually recording right now

 And the challenge was to see if their Tide Pod product could actually get those stains out so I could keep wearing it and looking pretty for you here on Unbox Therapy. So go check out the video.  As far as wireless headphones go, these are some of the best that exist, as far as I know, because they use uncompressed wireless digital frequency response transmission. That sounds pretty complicated. There's no compression that's applied to the sound, like in Bluetooth, it's using its own RF frequency, so essentially the idea here is the highest quality sound without wires. It also has this really cool bass station that charges the headphones, giving them up to 18 hours of battery life

 The Bass and Surround sound buttons do weird things to the sound that, to my ears, did nothing to enhance the experience. Maybe those are good for action movies? I tested them on a news program; the headphones certainly did not improve quality of the sound nor the quality of the news.  As for comfort, I found them a bit heavy and I think they'll hurt my head after an hour or so but I think that's mostly an individual thing. I don't like wearing headphones in general and they all start to hurt after a while

 The padding is nice and they fit around the ear and not over the ear so they do a pretty good job of buffering outside noise which allows one to keep the headphone volume to a minimum and avoid eardrum damage. But in terms of quality of sound or feel or buffering of outside noise I don't find these of any higher quality or any more comfortable than less expensive headphones I've owned over the years. The one thing these have over those others -- they're wireless.  If I had to do all over again I'd probably avoid these and try a different model or maybe even a different brand

 Following the instructions, I installed the provided batteries and placed the headphones on the recharging stand for ~16 hours until the light turned green. Then I removed the headphones and started the process of testing for sound, etc. My first attempt didn't work (see cable issue above), so I turned off the TV, jiggled wires, etc. After less than 10 minutes of playing with the wires and buttons, etc (making sure I had the volume turned up and not muted), the power button turned off

Meh. Headphones acceptable; inferior accessories; not worth the $$$

 The answer is no. There's no Bluetooth in these headphones, which is really what you'd need to pair with most smartphones or tablets. There's also no physical headphone jack to connect them if you wanted to connect these hardwired to anything. No, these are dedicated to TV and video viewing

 These headphones take forever to charge up. The initial charge takes about 16 hours. You're supposed to get about 18 hours of listening on a single charge, and provided you put the headphones back on their dock here after you're done with them, in theory you should never really need to test that timing. I didn't have them long enough to test them out so that I could fully wear the battery out, so I can't say if that number is accurate

 I ended up with it awkwardly wedged beside my TV during my test period. These headphones are also quite pricey. They sell for about $379 Canadian dollars, meaning they're pretty much an investment, especially considering they're tied to your TV and your TV only. Overall, if you're looking for durable, comfortable, and reliable headphones for your television that also sound phenomenal, you're definitely going to love the Sennheiser RS175s

 And most headphones are Bluetooth and not a lot of TVs have a Bluetooth connection, though you could hook something together with a wireless Bluetooth transmitter. But I digress. I'm Erin for Best Buy Canada's blog, and the easiest way to get direct-to-your-ears audio from your TV is with a pair of headphones dedicated to this purpose. The Sennheiser RS 175 is a specialty pair of headphones that's designed to work perfectly with your TV

So I have been tasked with putting together a quality 2.1 system for a deaf friend. He can hear a bit, but uses hearing aids. He has a nice sub but needs a nice receiver to drive and a small set of bookshelfs. He is in an apartment, so doesn’t want to disturbs the neighbors.

Now this is a good friend, so I want to hook him up with a good recommendation. Even considering suggesting one of those “seat shackers?” For added low frequency experience. 

Anyone on this group have experience with a hard of hearing audience? Any recommendations in terms of components and perhaps even brand/models?

Quality 2.1 system for a deaf guy? Not a joke..

 The sound is not advanced enough to demand such a price and certainly the lack of comfort dismisses the price as well. A pose to Sennheiser: ruining a great name is easy; making money is easy. Delivering on a promise clearly makes you queasy.

 These new phones do not give that open sense without help.  Considering they are wireless phones, they have a much wider volume span than in days of yore, heading north of comfortable if need be. They also handled harder base notes with more consideration and power, which I admit was a welcome change from previous releases. Turning on the incorporated bass management however, sent them into kiddie-boom mudslinging territory during the last TRON movie and added hard hoofing to anything already booming

This will be the second poor review of the Sennheiser brand from me and I am loath to give it. Besides the name being just damn cool, Sennheiser was a company I had always been able to rely on for a sound like no other. Now they are apparently attempting a new way to deliver on the Sennheiser promise. The sound promoted from This RS 175 is nearly Sennheiser studio sound - not audiophile

 I wear a medium helmet from most brands of motorcycle helmets. My hats are medium and I adjust them down (tighten). My ears do fit within these headphones so that is a plus - I have medium ears which do not protrude from my head very far. Most brands of over ear/Circumpolar units fit around my ears

Go ahead Sennheiser - keep screwing with your sound and comfort.

 Made sure there were no other wireless devices on the same frequency. Of course, rebooted it many times. Amazon tech support was useless. They're just reading from a troubleshooting guide

 I suppose spending almost $300 isn't good enough for a quality wireless product. Currently going round and round with Sennheiser and their warranty. I'm afraid I'll be stuck with a replacement that I don't want. I sure wish I would have put the same money into a far superior wired set

 Moved the base unit around, even right next to me. Switched the batteries several times. Made sure there were no other wireless devices on the same frequency. Of course, rebooted it many times

 After study, seems if Sennheiser used 900 instead of 2.4, there wouldn't be a problem. Sure, a bit shorter range, but who needs 100 ft, line of sight?? You know how a lot of people use 2.4 and those who don't, don't shut off that spectrum on their routers? There's the issue

Wireless cuts out, don't even bother. Unless you're ok with studying wireless spectrums.

 For the price and the brand I expected to be blown away by the sound which really isn't the case. If you can only use the analogue input then save your money, it's not worth it.  Also the range Sennheiser claims for this product is absurd. While where I sit I don't experience any disconnections (about 30 feet from the base unit), I did try to walk around my apartment (one floor, not that big), and very soon you can't hear a thing

So after two months of use I'm happy with the product, however it is way overpriced as I see it. The sound quality is good but no more that (and I'm no audiophile), and ONLY if you're able to use the optical input. For the price and the brand I expected to be blown away by the sound which really isn't the case. If you can only use the analogue input then save your money, it's not worth it
