 The other filters get cleaned once a week. Bottom line, it is a pain in the kazoo to clean.  So, many of you may think I did not think this purchase through. Well, maybe not, but I do not recall anyone mentioning the amount of cleaning the vacuum would require

Good at picking up dirt and dog hair but nothing large

I’m not sure if it was a faulty one or if they just aren’t as good as they say they are but I would not buy this vacuum again. I’ve loved shark vacuums but this is a no go for me. Guess I’ll just have to dip more money into the less portable one…

Easy and convenient to use, but at the end of every vacuuming the head drops a lot of debris. So light,and battery lasts, but this cannot suck like my Kirby. Good for dust maybe

 This is what we have to stick our hand in to clean it out. I didn't buy a vacuum to touch the very stuff that I'm trying to rid my house off. Gross! If expect more from Shark. If they're going to compete with Dyson, this issue needs to be fixed

READ THIS FIRST BEFORE BUYING - canister issue

 For about 10 years, we have used a Dyson Animal upright vac, which has been amazing at getting hair and dirt out of the carpets. The Dyson is an exceptional vacuum, but it's quite large, and heavy, and it's corded. We wanted to try a cord-free vacuum, and were impressed by the features and reviews for the Shark IONFlex 2x, so we gave it a try.  There are good and bad points, when taken in consideration -

  GOOD: The Shark is much lighter, and easier to use under or around furniture. It also, by virtue of being smaller, is really well suited to use in our bathroom and kitchen (both are very narrow and tight). The Shark is cordless, and can go from room-to-room, and floor-to-floor, all over the house without looking for an electrical outlet. The battery provides decent power, and lasts for a reasonable amount of time

  THE VERDICT: Well ... while this won't "replace" the Dyson, the Shark does relegate it to strictly "the downstairs" parts of the house

 My home is a two story home, and a light weight cordless vacuum was very appealing to me.  I LOVED this vacuum when I first got it home. It was very powerful and sucked up everything I put in front of it. It didn’t have that annoying dirt drag most vacuums have, that like of dirt that collects on the floor behind the actual vacuum sucking area as you drag it backwards

 It has to be cleaned every single time and I can tell it needs replaced frequently. I think dust has already gotten into the actual mechanical area because this thing has lost more than half its power already. Also the spinning bars and wheels are poorly made to encounter hair. You can’t remove the tiny wheels, mine are so caked and matted with human and dog hair I can’t even cut it away anymore

 I could get my entire downstairs vacuumed in one charge since it sucked so well I didn’t have to go over any spots twice, so it was efficient and powerful. Awesome.  So where did it go wrong? The hepa filter on this thing is abysmal. I think that’s the first problem

 And it doesn’t come apart in any section besides at the base and handle (top and bottom)... currently I have a piece of something stuck right in the middle and the tube and hose are so narrow I can’t find anything small enough in my home to stick down there to push it out

Not suitable for large home with pets and kids

 Two rooms and still on the first battery. I wanted a battery operated unit so I could keep it handy and not have to drag out the power cord, and extension cords, which I always seem to be standing on. Great!  The noise level is, I think, quieter than my corded vacuums.  Storing in plain sight makes it easy to do a quick clean up

 It does get right up to obstacles like baseboards as advertised, better than my corded vacs.  Cons: You step on a release tap to jettison the floor section. I found it's very easy to bump that lever when vacuuming under a table and the roller part falls off. Just be aware

 I'd check the Shark web site and make sure you get the IF 200 or IF 252 with the double charger. (for $100 less.)

" However, I'm over it so let's talk about the vacuum.  After using it, I like it a lot. I have a golden retriever who sheds enough to make another dog every day. This will be my fourth vacuum, so I know something about dog hair

I got over being mad at Shark and now really like the vacuum.
