 It has the same complete seal, anti-allergen filtration system that other premium sharks have. It does really keep the tiny particles in the machine and filters them through a hepa filter, which is something i consider a must in a vacuum, and it's a feature that you don't often see with vacuums in this price range. The new rotator has some other design changes like a foot pedal that releases the canister, so you can more easily use it in lift away mode. Lift away mode is when you detach the pod from the floor nozzle and then carry it around for lightweight above floor cleaning jobs with the attachments

 So it's not like there's no maintenance for you to do, but it's certainly less maintenance. With these brushes.  Here the rotator actually scored a little bit better than the vertex, though it was close. The point is that the smaller motor size does not seem to be holding this vacuum back in the real world tests which brings us to its pickup ability. But first let's talk about the features specific to the floor head design itself. It has shark's duo-clean system, which is a soft roller in the front and a more or less standard roller in the back

The Shark Rotator Lift-Away ADV is a corded upright/handheld vacuum. It delivers superb bare-floor cleaning performance and should clear most kinds of debris on both low and high-pile carpet. This little vacuum does a pretty good job on the carpet but on hard floors it is a big failure. We've had to move our cat's litter box upstairs due to her age. Of course, when she steps out of the litter box, she tracks little pieces onto the floor. This vacuum will NOT pick up those pieces

I just purchased this vacuum (2-3 weeks ago) and chose it because of a detailed review online (I have hardwood floors and this seemed like the best choice). The vacuum works great, it’s nice that the brushes do not get tangled with hair/fur and the suction power is good. However the accessories are meh (see picture), the strip came off after using it a couple times and the body already has ton of scratches (you need to be extra careful when using it). Also not great that the cable has to be put back instead of using a button like others

I bought this vacuum because I was looking for a more quiet vacuum. My older Oreck was so shrill I had to wear earplugs when using it.  Pros - Definitely quieter than my Oreck. I would compare to a hair dryer on high speed

 Suction is amazing! I have low pile Berber and this vacuum has so much suction I can see the path in the carpet - never saw that with the Oreck. I’m shocked at what is in the dust container after only a few passes when I start using it (and we’re a two person household with a dog). Haven’t had any issues with hair getting tangled on the roller. Haven’t had any issues with the attachments falling off when using

 Shark, if you’re reading this, I would GLADLY pay good money for a proper attachment for the stairs.

Excellent suction, terrible for stairs

 The only reason I could not give it five stars is because this thing truly has a mind of its own during normal vacuuming operation. What I mean is, the unit is so powerful that it will take you for a jog if you are not careful, especially moving forward. There is a bit of effort required to control it as it wants to run when you only want to walk. I was surprised by this as the other Shark does no such thing and is much easier to control

 It is also a bit harder to pull backward since it simply wants to go forward. I might try the NV356E S2 model instead, which is both $119 less expensive and is much easier to control. I probably should have just bought two of those instead of going for the higher end model but one thing is for certain, I will only buy Shark vacuums from now on. They do not disappoint

 The second one (this one) was bought to replace a 4 year old Kirby Avelir 2. The reason I replaced the Kirby was simply because it is way too heavy and takes way too much work to change over to accessory mode. This model Shark does everything it says it does and then some. The lift away feature is beyond cool, the suction is awesome and it has been designed to be extremely user friendly

 I probably should have just bought two of those instead of going for the higher end model but one thing is for certain, I will only buy Shark vacuums from now on. They do not disappoint.

It has a mind of its own.

 It sucked it up and by the time I could get it shut off, I could smell burning from the power cord! Please remember, I'm in a wheelchair and I just had major back surgery so I'm a little weaker than most people. It probably may not be a huge issue for others but for me, it was a big deal and I was lucky that all I lost was the fan and that it didn't hurt the vacuum cleaner that I just spent $300 bucks for. ;-) Other than those 2 things, it's an excellent vacuum! The only other drawback is that it's unfortunately from China.

 The reason I'm giving this vacuum 4 stars is for 2 drawbacks. One is that the suction is SO GOOD that the vacuum tends to take off a little bit by itself when you first turn it on and it pulls kind of hard. If you let go, it keeps going. I'm disabled and in a wheelchair so there have been a few times where I lost control of it and it pulled out of my hand, so I have to be really careful

  Likes: good for cleaning tile and hardwood floors (first time I've ever regularly and successfully used a vacuum cleaner for those surfaces), good for cleaning carpet and rugs, rotator feature is good for all surfaces except stairs, air-driven power brush hose attachment is very powerful and cleans well, good combination of features/price, no tangled hairs yet on either main brush or hose attachment power brush, not heavy.  Dislikes: small dust bin capacity, rotator feature is bad for stairs if using main brush head, foam filter getting dirty faster than expected and will require more frequent cleaning, cord clip won't keep hold of cord when vacuuming, cord placement is awkward for right-handed use, loose fit of some plastic parts causes some annoying squeaks during use, extension hose doesn't stretch easily so vacuum falls over even with relativity short distances.

After using this for a couple months, my feedback is that it does a pretty good job overall and I would buy it again.  The brand new, unopened, unit that I received had older style attachments than listed in the description and shown in the pictures. I received an Upholstery Brush instead of a Pet Multi Tool (with detachable bristle brush) and the older Pet Power Brush instead of the Self-Cleaning Pet Power Brush (with PowerFins). I spent some time on the phone with Shark support and they shipped out the correct attachments free of charge
