Let’s start with what we see before moving on to what we can’t see. Visually this air purifier is round with some visible vents and that’s it. And it’s great. It’s simple design doesn’t try to compete with your home decor

 Connecting this device to your smart home network is also impossible. A great appliance that lacks modern day features. I recommend this appliance for what it is and nothing more.

 Only at its highest fan speed does it start to make TOO much noise. It has an automatic feature as well as a night time feature that serves as a quiet option. It will light up green, orange and red to indicate good, poor and bad air conditions respectively. I would like to believe my home has constant good quality air so I’m not able to test how well it detects poor air quality

Air Quality Purified

This seems like a well made purifier but it hasn't convinced me that it is really working. I put it in a room with very old (50+ years) dusty carpet and it continually says the air is perfect, which is a little hard to believe.

  Now repaired, I can appreciate the responsive touch control panel, the simple filter replacement, and the overall esthetic design. The electronically controlled motor is very efficient, using only 2 watts on the lowest speed and only 32 watts on the highest setting of “6” where it moves a LOT of air. Had the unit functioned as received, I would have rated it much higher. Replacement filters are reasonably priced and well made, and easy to change

 Despite my low rating, I believe that my experience is an exception to the norm and that this is an effective, compact, and handsome air purifier worth your consideration.

 It is somewhat noisier at speed level “6” (highest) than I expected, but in its defense, it is moving a lot of air at that point. I measured a 13MPH (19 feet per second) breeze at 1 foot from the top of the unit on that high setting.  On the lowest two speeds, it is virtually silent, and what air noise it does make blends into the background household noises completely. What should be an excellent air purifier was hampered by what looks to me to be less than optimal quality control

 In short, it now worked as designed.  I have now run this air purifier for many hours and at various settings and find that it ostensibly cleans volumes of air as it circulates the air in the room. It is somewhat noisier at speed level “6” (highest) than I expected, but in its defense, it is moving a lot of air at that point. Dead On Arrival – BUT,  Please Read To The End

 I didn’t help any with the odor of cooking fish.  I initially used the automatic setting that is supposed to automatically adjust the speed of the purifier, but this didn’t work either. No matter the amount of activity in the room or odors, the purifier always ran on the lowest setting.  The other major issue I had is the price of the replacement filters

 I checked the price of the filters before I got this purifier and they were around $30, which is actually a good price and one I was willing to pay. The filters are now $69, triple the price. That’s a price I’m not willing to pay, particularly for an air purifier that doesn’t seem to be doing much.  The controls are easy to use and you dim the lights for night time use

 I still have some congestion on some days, but it's much less than before. I think my daughter would benefit from a purifier!

 So when I saw this, I was curious to give it a try and see if it helped. Set up was easy. The unit is larger than I expected, but the HEPA filter is pretty big. I have not priced replacement filters yet, so I can't comment on long term affordability

 The unit has different settings. My husband has is set on automatic so it comes on when needed. When it is running, it's usually pretty quiet and if there is any noise, it's really like white noise and I can tune it out easily. We've been using it for about a week now and it seems to be helping with my allergies

  Since I have younger kids walking around I really appreciate that the fan sits really low from the top so they can't really stick their hands inside and get hurt  Design wise it's one of the better looking air purifier out there, it's massive but you will get to have it around  since it's a HEPA based filter take in mind that, depends on the usage, you will need to account for the extra cost to replace the filter and it's a hefty $60 price tag

It gives me peace of mind knowing that the air I’m breathing is free of dust and pollen, and my nose is no longer all stuffed up when I wake up in the morning. The visual air quality indicator is a bonus. I’d recommend this air purifier to anyone

This Sharper Image air purifier is very low profile and doesn’t take up much space. It’s super quiet, and I can barely tell that it’s on.  I can already notice a difference in the house’s air quality, and there are noticeably fewer dust particles even now that the furnace has started to kick in with forced air heat.  I love the night mode as other purifiers I’ve owned have had all manner of lights and other displays that would prevent the bedroom from being completely dark

The Best Air Purifier I’ve owned

This is a nice air purifier. It is extremely easy to set up. The controls are on top - they are both easy to access and easy to use. There are six fan speeds and an Auto mode

The Purify 9 Air Purifier is a strong machine that does have a lot of power and has the ability to clean the air quickly. Along with the 6 different fan speed settings, it does have an auto mode which makes using it easy. The top also looks like a jet engine, which fits the machine well because on the highest fan setting it does sound like a jet engine. The circular design also prevents it from being set flush to a wall, so it does sit out in the open a bit
