 Hey everyone out there, I'm going to do a quick review of this PSLX300 USB Sony turntable that allows you to convert your albums to MP3s or some other format. This turntable right here, it's pretty lightweight, you have a couple of settings in the back, you have a phono and line, if you have a phono connection on your receiver you can use that connection, if you don't you use line, you use the phono when you are trying to, when you are converting your albums or 45s to your computer for MP3s. Of course power cord, USB, this is how you connect to the computer, the inside, this only plays 45s and 33 speed albums, it doesn't play 78s. It has the adapter for your 45 speed records and then you need to change your speed and your size

AT-LP60X or Sony PS-LX300USB?

 Thank God mine works. The second problem is the very poor software that comes with it and the lack of support from Sony and the Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio LE division.  In Summary.  A good automatic turntable at very good cost,  But it comes with a very poor software package and NO vendor support

Great Turntable, Unusable Software

 Then the only step that's left is to put that mat back on and you're ready to play some more records. One other thing to note that this is not the original stylus, the original was white and it had a little guard that would flip down in front to protect that needle. And there's a reason for that, a very good one, and it's one of the things I don't like as much about this turntable, and that's if you look carefully at this little bridge that holds the tone arm, you'll note there's no lock mechanism. So when you transport this, you have to be very careful because there's no way to lock the tone arm down into place

 Not bad at all. Very minimal rumble from this turntable. It is a belt drive turntable which definitely makes a good sound. It's got a nice sound

 I think it's a good sounding turntable and definitely a pretty good one to begin with. But there's plenty of room for improvement. You could definitely get a much better turntable. The only other thing I would say is that I don't know that you can really replace the cartridge

 Aside from putting your center spindle in, which center spindle does come with the record player, you'll want to make sure that you set it to 45 RPM and 7 inch and then all you have to do is press start as it is a fully automatic turntable. And the sound that you're going to hear here is directly out of the line out of the turntable so it's pretty much exactly what the turntable sounds like. As you can hear, pretty nice bass response. It is a styrene 45 and I think it sounds pretty good

\~2008 **Sony PS-LX300USB** or contemporary model bought from Best Buy in the late-aughts when it was the only turntable you'd ever find in a physical store to play some of my dad's old records. It sounded better than either of us expected and got me buying records. Back then I'd buy whole stacks of used records from PREX for $20 and the occasional new/fancy one for $10-20 and maybe a MoFi for $30 new.

Be interesting to know the start of your turntable journey. I am new to this, my TT is a Project Debut III that I bought used from Ebay, came with a ortofon OM10.

What was your first turntable?

It works with a Mac, but not out of the box

 It simply sounded better to hear it on vinyl in a way that M3 never could. But there was another reason. Vinyl avoided the volume wars. On digital, you can make a track sound louder than it would naturally

 It is a belt drive operation with two speeds, 33 and 45 RPM and there is an adaptor for playing 45 RPM. It has a built-in phono preamp. Tone arm and platter. There is a straight arm static balance tone arm that is made from aluminum and there are no anti-skate controls

 And of course, price. Let's have a look at one such turntable in our comprehensive Sony PSLX300USB stereo turntable review. But first just in case you have arrived from another galaxy, a brief word about. One overview

 There are sockets for RC Fono and a USB output for connecting up to a laptop. We shall discuss the connection a little later. The design. Sony's design of this turntable might be considered a bit logy, but they have ensured that the important features work well

It Works, But !!

 If you are a professional or you have a professional sound system, I would recommend the level above this. If you've had previous record players that are of lower quality, a Cosley for example, or an all-in-one with speakers built in, this would be the next step up that you would then hook up to a dedicated sound system. In the case here, as I don't have a sound system in this room, I have hooked it up to the Sony wireless speaker that I'll also link in the review as well. This provides a good coverage and is hooked up via an RCA cable

 The USB option included in this turntable allows you to connect the turntable to a computer and record the albums that are coming through. As of right now, the software that allows you to record is PC only. If you do have a Mac or run on Linux or any other operating systems, you would have to emulate or run a Windows software inside of yours and be able to run the program. For Macs, popular programs would be Crossover or you could dual boot your system
