 I still personally prefer the Crusher Wireless because I have more control and if I want to I can have really really skull rattling bass which I honestly don't think that this hits. So for $250 I think that these should be priced more at $200 and I think a lot of the times they're going to go on sale for that in fact that's what I bought these for. And that again puts it more in a market that I think is affordable for a pair of bass headphones that is also noise cancelling headphones. These also do have the aptX coding technology so as far as Bluetooth goes you're going to get the best quality sound that you can get out of Bluetooth and again Sony packed a ton of features in this that I think overall it's a really nice pair of headphones not the best noise cancelling headphones and not the best bass headphones but really falling in the middle

 So for $250 you kind of have to figure out if that's what it is you're looking for because the Crusher Wireless has a lot better more bass that you're going to feel but it doesn't have noise canceling. And then you have noise cancelling headphones that have better noise cancelling but don't have the bass that these do so I think Sony came out with these to just hit right in the middle of that market.  These are just really fun headphones to listen to. Mids and treble are actually really to me better this time around. Even the bass boost feature you're not losing it all immediately just by hitting the button. You're still having an overall great sound

 You're able to see your battery life inside the app as well. That's good if you have an Android device because most of them don't tell you where your headphone battery level is at. As far as overall sound again I still prefer these by not using the bass boost button because without the bass boost button there's still tons of bass but a more balanced sound. Like mids and treble do not really fall back in these if you're not using the bass boost

WORTH THE UPGRADE? : Sony Extra Bass MDR-XB950N1 REVIEW!

Great Sound, Absolute Crap craftmanship

 Now to alleviate these headphones from being too niche, I guess you can say, those who only want the bass heavy feature occasionally and not permanently, Sony allows the ability to adjust bass levels with their headphone app, available on Apple and Android. Now regardless, with extra bass on or whichever setting that you have it at, the mid-range still comes off as being pronounced, having vocals stand out and not recessed. The high notes do have a good bit of roll-off, so cymbal crashes and those snare drums wasn't as sharp and pronounced as much as I would have liked. As for audio separation, Sony does good with left and right audio channels, but soundstage is lacking

 The removable earpads are gargantuan as well, but as stated earlier, everything is indeed functional. With these earpads, the 950N1 offers commendable passive noise isolation, and with my ears, they fit perfectly inside. They're wearing these at the studio with temperatures around 70 to 73 degrees. After 30 minutes of wearing, my ears do warm up, but I never had nasty ear sweat

 However, it does make the headphones feel lightweight. Not more of my comfort test quite shortly here. Moving down, the headband does graciously fold in, which is always a plus, and they're able to collapse into a smaller profile for traveling. Oddly with my review unit, the carrying pouch was not in the retail packaging

0 to Bluetooth 4.1 for improved range and performance. But before I get really deep into this, let's look at the price. These retail for $250 at the time of this video

 The frequency controls are horrid, and the bass is overpowering without the bass effect option on. I do not need another option to drain the track's mix down. This function can be good if there are too many people in the area to make the cancelling more effective. I wish there was more balance in the bright and low sounds

Sony's 950N1 Headphones is only good for the style.

 I wouldn't say the active noise cancellation is the best here, but it's very good and should satisfy everyone. The deep clean bass is really the strength of these and it doesn't disappoint. And now that Sony has an app for you to control the amount of bass, these sound good for pretty much any genre. I found that when playing music, even very quietly, I wasn't able to hear any of that though. If you're buying these mostly for the noise cancellation, I would recommend trying them first and compare them to the Bose QC35 to see if they'll be good enough, but I think the noise cancellation is going to please most people. The 950N1s have 40mm drivers that do a great job with bass, even with the bass effect turned off

 When it comes to active noise cancellation, it's pretty good, but it's not what you'll find on the Sony MDR-1000X or the Bose QC35. Having it on makes a noticeable improvement, eliminating most background noise, but as the manual states, it's primarily blocking the low frequencies. So with no music playing, noise like a fan, air conditioner, or the hum of a refrigerator are totally eliminated, but you can still hear voices pretty clearly. I found that when playing music, even very quietly, I wasn't able to hear any of that though

 The ear cushions are very soft and deep, so they feel roomy over my ears. They're replaceable too. They do get a little warm, but the ear pads make a nice seal over your ears, so even when you're using them without the active noise cancellation, they still block a lot of outside noise, and they don't leak much noise either. I find these extremely comfortable to wear

 I have not been anywhere to really test the active noise cancellation (i.e. plane), but if they improve at all over the passive sound cancellation I would think that it would be acceptable.  Battery Life - Headphones came with a 70% charge, two hours later they still show 70%

  Mic - I would not buy these if you plan to take a lot of phone calls with them. Multiple tests had the other end saying that I sounded more like "I was on speakerphone in the bathroom". These were done with me in a living room so it could only get worse if in a noisy environment.  Neutral:  I wish the skip track directions buttons were reversed

 Songs like Kendrick Lamar's "DNA" will merit turning that feature on though, and you will really appreciate that it's there. It's comparable to having a 10" subwoofer in your car and then being able to switch it to a 12" with a push of a button.  Sound Isolation - The complete seal around the ears already makes a big difference in terms of background noise. With music playing they already block a good amount of sound in the environment

 I would compare them to most closed back WIRED headphones in the $50-$70 price category in terms of sound. So it's up to you if the the Bluetooth, 22hr battery life, and NFC pairing are worth the added price. I mainly use these for Hip Hop, Podcasts, and streaming video. I would NOT recommend them if you want a neutral sound profile

Good Overall Headphones

 I think they sound great and I'm not going to ramble on that's just the long and the short of it guys. If you have any questions leave them in the comments section until next time your boy Tecmo, I'm out, peace.

 If you're looking for these headphones to charge within an hour and a half to two hours it's not going to happen. Now I used one of my wall chargers that came with one of my old Galaxy Note phones that is supposed to charge your devices quicker and it still took me about 6 hours to get them to 100%. Now that may or may not be a big deal to you. Maybe the charging time is not that big of a deal

 And this is what I'll say. If you have the 950 BTs and they're in good condition and you're happy with how they sound I really don't think that these are worth the upgrade but if you're looking for the features that these have such as the foldable design, the two more hours of battery life, the upgraded audio quality and the noise cancellation then I mean these might be worth the upgrade for you. Again if you have the BTs and they're in good condition it's going to come down to you justifying whether you need to spend another $250 to get the N1s for the features that they have. So other than that guys like I said I'm very pleased with these headphones I don't have any issues with them

 I did get the 22 hours. I didn't get anything less than that. So the claims in terms of the battery life are spot on. Now they do take a long time to charge

1 Week Analysis of the Sony XB950N1 Extra Bass Headphones! Still Worth It?

 They feel great to the touch, with a kind of matte material and some metal (headband, and folding mechanism). The earcups feel like leather (or something very convincing) but aren't as comfortable as the XB950/B that I had originally and are replacing with this pair.  Sound Quality: I can hear High, Mids, Lows, and Bass clearly. Though on some genres the Lows can start to creep on the mids

 We're a long way away from audiophile DACs that you plug into but these go a long way to help the quality of your music. Please note that the APTX-HD codec is from Qualcomm which makes CPU's for most mid range and high end Androids and that is the only way you will be able to take advantage of it. (also your phone needs to be updated to at least Android O 8.0)

 Turning on Bass effect on an already bass heavy track destroys mids and highs. Some people like that but I am very careful to only turn on the Bass Effect on tracks that just need a little more umph! I really love how they sound especially since I can take advantage of the APTX-HD codec making a lot music I listen to really pop. they only reason I did not give this product 5 stars is because the sound stage (how wide and encompassing the music sounds) is kind of closed in. Other than that I love these Headphones and I definitely recommend  Features: I don't fly a lot so I cannot say how well the NC (noise cancelling) works on airplane engines, but they do a great job when walking around a city (I live near Washington DC)

Great Headphones, with great HD music potential

 The best thing about these earphones is that you can actually control the amount of bass from your smart phone app. Personally I like a little more bass so I've raised mine to 7. The app also lets you change the surround effect for your earphones, but after playing with it I'm just gonna keep that one off, it really just distorts the sound for me. I also wore these earphones on a plane a few days ago and found the noise cancellation to be very good

 They sound better, their noise cancellation is very decent, they have a 22 hour battery life and being able to control the bass level is a very welcome feature. A few critiques I need to point out are the buttons on these earphones. Since they're flush with the surface it can be a little hard to know what you're pressing. I would also like to see some type of quick charging feature on these earphones

 You really just get a bag that doesn't do much of anything. Overall the Sony XB950N1 is a big improvement over the XB950B1. They sound better, their noise cancellation is very decent, they have a 22 hour battery life and being able to control the bass level is a very welcome feature. A few critiques I need to point out are the buttons on these earphones

 Everything from the airplane cabin noise to traffic and even just people in terminals was filtered out nicely. I also noticed that the noise cancellation on the XB950N1 didn't give me any kind of headache after a while like the Bose QC35 do. I have asked other people if they get headaches from wearing the QC35 and for the most part they said no. So I guess I'm just a special special snowflake

Sony XB950N1 Review Its All About That Bass! THEY"RE ON SALE

So these have been the best headphones I’ve owned so far. The sound is nice and crisp at normal bass but can be slightly muddy when the bass boost is on. The UI on the headphones is ok with my one gripe being the on and bass boost button not have recesses to better feel where they are. I’ve seen some reviews saying that the female voice when turning the power on, bass boost on, or noise canceling on is annoy but to that I say you really only hear it when once or twice and if you have to turn on and the headphones that often being that they are bluetooth headphones I think you’re just doing it wrong even by my standards

 The material used for the ear muffs are great rivaling the Bose we 35. I can wear these for hours on end without any much discomfort as I did with my old on ear headphones and Razer Kreaken V2. The noise canceling is OK for what you are getting with it getting rid of constant noises such as rain fall or plane engine noises. (As a traveling college student I can confirm that these will get rid of the constant engine sputter in a plane) However the noise canceling will not cancel our sudden noises such as hammering, dropping of items to the ground, or people in conversations but will significantly dumped the noise that you hear

 In classical music these headphones do fall short in my opinion due to the sounds not being as crisp as I’d like and feels a little flat. Great headphones and are still using them! I got the for $120 on sale which is what I feel is a great deal if you can find it for this price. My one big con with this headset iss that after a while the inside of the bass can rub aginst your ears even if you have small ears.
