Second, don't get a Soundboks. It's not worth the money since it got heavy compression in upper and lower frequencies and doesn't play as loud as promised.

Soundboks 2 is the winner hands down and the Big Blue X 120watt speaker deserves a honorable mention. Just don't leave your home or go to sleep when Charging they were recalled for a fire hazard which is very rare I removed the battery in mine but there is a safe replacement out of China. The Bose s1, JBL, Harmon Kardon, Awia, Big Blue, Riva, Marshall, etc are better than Braven spend $599 and get the Soundboks 2 and your set for 5 years with music. I have 4 Soundboks and no speaker has been able to overcome the quality and ease of setup with a powerful battery that Soundboks has in it's speakers.

There's no speaker that can compete with the Soundboks 2 for this job. You have a 50 hour battery at 75% volume your looking at 12hours but if you want to be safe buy a extra battery they slide in and out very easily. Once your party is over you can keep the battery(s) or sell them they sell really fast. There Is no battery operated speaker that is going to do the job of Soundboks.

Well if you buy the Soundboks 2 you won't wear that out it's the one for $699 I've had it for 2 years I'm a performer. I have it at 80% volume with outside mode on for 17 hours non-stop never ran out of juice and sets up easy everytime.

I have the Soundboks 2 (and 3) and to me it actually sounds better indoors than the Soundboks 3 (more clarity, the SB3 is too boomy for indoors even with its indoor setting). However you lose all the fancy tech like wireless linking to other Soundboks and the Pro panel (though I don't think a lot of people will utilize all its features). What uses do you plan on using it for? The Partyboxes can be a nice option as well, but the swappable batteries for the Soundboks is pretty unique and useful if you're in situations where recharging might be difficult (like if you're camping).
