Varmilo VA87M

Hi - I posted last week about issues with a varmilo va87m. It ended up the keyboard I received was a dud with certain keys not registering at all.

It’s amazing how different and how much better the Varmilo felt compared to the G710+ despite both using the same Cherry Brown switches. And yes, I did remove the rubber stoppers in the G710+ keycaps which made the keyboard feel a lot less mushy (Logitech had used these to make the keyboard quieter which was a terrible idea because it made the keyboard feel more like a cheap scissors switch keyboard rather than a mechanical one). Just last week, I got the Logitech G915 TKL because I needed a wireless keyboard for my work from home setup. It’s a great combination of features (wireless, TKL, media keys) but the typing feel is nowhere close to the Varmilo.

Every key I press comes with a tinny metallic noise. I paid 200 bucks for this and I'm incredibly disappointed.

wirecutter is saying the varmillo va87m is their favorite mechanical keyboard. does anyone have any experience with this board, switching out keycaps, favorite switches, etc? i want a mechanical keyboard but don’t even know where to start on making my own/don’t want to spend too much money on this, but still want a great board that i can switch out keycaps with artisans!.

First of all need 60-75% keyboard with wireless connection. Really fell in love with the varmilo va87m, but afraid of mini usb.
