This is reasonably mobile for a laptop with a 15.6-inch screen, short of featherweight ultraportables that weigh between two and three pounds, but practical for throwing in a bag or backpack for a commute or school. Those more-mobile options are better if portability is your primary concern, but for a laptop with a 15.6-inch screen that’s easier to work on, this is a good size

35 kg, and the Honor MagicBook Pro 16 is 1.7 kg. So there's room for making it lighter.

I intend to use the laptop for programming, netflix, maybe some light machine learning, and for taking notes during class, so I'd like a decent battery life too if possible. Here are my choices:. * Acer Aspire 5 (R7 4700U) - this is kind of a favorite of mine at the moment, it has the biggest battery of the bunch at 48Wh and the port selection is very solid too.

Now, battery life depends on load and hardware. My MacBook Air M1 gets insane battery life. Modded with a thermal pad and on my old school aluminum brick laptop cooler (someone tell cooler master to crank these out again) it holds it own against the R7 4700U in performance and the screen is wonderful. But, the 4700U at least in the Honor Magicbook 14, still gets upward of 9 hours, and allows me a choice of OS’s
