 Has 4 rubber bumpers placed in the upper and lower corners next to keyboard to protect monitor and keyboard when closed. Durability of these types of pads on past laptops has been iffy, 2 of them fell off the 2018 Dell Latitude I'm replacing, hoping for these to hold up better.  Old laptop would lose my wi-fi connection at least once a day, this one hasn't dropped once. As far as connection speed, speed tests show it's consistently 20-25% faster than 2018 laptop.)  Active Stylus: This is housed in a built in charger "garage" so should never lose it and it will stay charged. Acer claims a 15 second charge in the charger garage will give it 1 hour charge

 0 port  Battery: Don't know how long it will go on battery only, I've used it for up to 4 hours with no issues, but typically I may use it battery only for a couple hours a couple times a week. I have a power inverter in my vehicle so when I'm working there, It's on the cord.  I've had it a week and really like it, so far it's my all time favorite laptop, hard to believe how light this is at just over 2.65 pounds

Loving it so far - 1 week Update - 20 months lost 2 stars (really should be 2.5)

3" screen laptop's in this price range that has a FHD screen again with a decent discount.

 The speaker's located above the keyboard are also surprisingly loud. Battery life is also solid. It consistently lasted me a full workday and in streaming video testing it lasted over eight and a half hours. The Acer Spin 5 is reasonably priced for everything it offers

 The screen size might not appeal to all. But it does show a paper easily on screen. Very helpful when displaying paper in tablet mode. Some reviewers may not like having thickened black bars when viewing

Only giving it 4 for now, as it's new- this could change if i note any issues later- The reason for the 4 is not because of the product so much, but for the Acer Website and support- No email capabilities, so you have to talk live with a person on phone, or use chat- but chat can take some time- especially when all you need is a quick answer to an issue like say whether or not other pens can be used. I chatted about that, but the person in the chat didn't know for sure what other pens could be used- The one that comes with this tablet is too thin- and needs recharging- I'd prefer one with batteries that can be replaced, and would like a pen i can change he nib when it wears out- anyways- they couldn't tell me what if any other pens could be used- so deducting a point for the website support, no email support- as those tie in with the machine and people's consideration of purchase I'm sure- The product itself is very nice- I only wish there was a way to fold it to the tablet form and protect the keys and also to allow the hot air to escape better- you'll be holding it on a table or couch with the air vents down in order to work on it, and it does get hot- The surface is nice to draw on- very responsive- but does have a glass feel to it- of course- but you can buy a paper-like see through protector, so that can help- the trackpad is pretty good- no issues with it- so far- the picture is really nice- was wanting Oled- but can't have everything :), colors are nice, clear, crisp looking- and it's nice painting digitally on this device as a result- The pen is very thin- too thin really for drawing and painting- it does dock n the machine and recharge very quickly if it goes down in charge, which seems to be kinda quickly- but it does recharge very very quick for another few hours of work - which is super nice- something like 15 seconds of charging- i tried it- it works great- Pen part 2: No nibs with this- and when the nib wears out- not sure what to do- they don't seem to sell the pen on their website- and although i asked their chat personnel if any pens could be substituted- the person didn't really know- I'm much rather have a pen that uses disposable batteries, as i guess the batteries last a long time in them, but i don't know which pens would work with this particular model- it shouldn't be this confusing just to buy a pen for this model Speed is pretty good- and memory is fairly sufficient- but it will lag if I'm Drawing on a large file, and use the largest brushes and have over say 15 layers active- then it will lag a bit but not severely- Everything opens snappily- the finish is slippery- not crazy about it- but it's ok- certainly not a deal breaker for sure- ports- plenty of ports and they have the latest greatest thunderbolt ports- so that's cool- also an older USB which is good- HDMI if you wanna connect to larger screen which is cool- plus a slot for Micro SD card which can expand your storage- Storage- wish they had had a 1 Terabyte option, or even 2 Terabyte- had to get the 500 GB instead- I can use a micro SD to expand storage, but that's not ideal, and perhaps slower for transferring large files I believe? So far I'm kind of loving this purchase- did a lot of tech comparisons and price comparisons before purchasing, and went with this one because of the options available verses the competition- but like i said- the pen is a bit of an issue, other brands can use off brand pens, but i can't find any info on this Acer for using off brand pens to replace the skinny one that came with it- information regarding this is very scarce it seems- and apparent even the support chat doesn't know? Not sure what I'm gonna do when the nib wears out on this pen? Anyways- still a great laptop 2-1, glad i bought it so far

 At that price, we're more sympathetic toward the Spin 5. It's not like we couldn't afford to lose a few ounces ourselves.

When making a decision on the Acer Spin 5, you'll have to decide whether its capable performance and solid battery life outweigh its, well, weight and bulk. We think the system's best bet is to play the value card, but we don't see it challenging the Lenovo Yoga 720 for Editors' Choice honors, considering the latter's world-class keyboard, Thunderbolt 3, and much greater comfort when held in Tablet mode.

The Enter key is SO soft and mushy and I've noticed many of the keys, like the pair of Space bars, are also soft and don't register contact multiple times. VERY frustrating as I can type around 50 wpm and I'm having to Backspace WAY too much! GRR!. I want to send this POS back and try another brand, but I've found no other alternatives in my searches.

Having 2 classes in row will mean you're looking to sit near a plug in class to keep it charged. You can dim the screen down but that's not always possible when you're in a bright classroom

 My old model, with a card slot, I routinely swapped out cards depending on my usage. I was hoping the battery life was some improved. It might be marginally but use it for a couple hours and it's going to need a charge. I wouldn't recommend this for students

Good but with some disappointments.

We did not open the shrink wrap as there was no indication of a keyboard. Be aware of false depictions of keyboard included even in the video. Otherwise, the product should be ok if you want a tablet, not a PC.
