Anker Soundcore Motion+ vs JBL Xtreme 3

Brought the anker soundcore motion+ based on reviews to replace my ancient bose soundlink mini that died. The sound, even though newer bluetooth standard is no way near the rich attractive sound of the bose and I'm now sending it back. Im just shocked that the reviews were misleading or that after all these years the soundlink still sounds so good and size so compact.

I have Flip 5 and Xtreme 3 and I have to say that PartBoost is not good solution. It's range is very bad and even if I have both speakers close to each other it losts connection. The worst part is that speakers don't reconnect automatically so I have to retry whole procedure. Power off, power on, and enable PB again

I will turn on the speaker and be listening to music, but my wife will unintentionally cut-in from elsewhere in the house because her phone and pc are also connected. There is no way to clear the Bluetooth connections without resetting to factory (and like I said, can't really do that since the app won't connect). A shame that JBL couldn't figure out the simple things for what would otherwise be a five star speaker.

This Soundcore Motion Plus has an even more solid bass and clear treble and is a perfect size for our small living room. The bass boost is solid and with 30W of power should fill most spaces with thundering volume. Two devices can be linked for a true stereo effect, but for a small room the sound experience with a single unit is excellent The device is water and splash resistant for outdoor use, but gives piece of mind for use in my living room where spills from cats and grandkids are possible or if I wanted to take it to the kitchen. It would also be perfect for use at your cabin or on your deck or patio

Back in my 20s would have returned that speaker the same day I got it. (Bottom line for bass heads. You will never be fully satisfied at loud volume by a small speaker. The physics of producing bass demand size and hollowness

Anker Soundcore Motion Boom for best bang for your buck. It's quite amazing the deep bass they get from this little speaker.

put the saved money towards more music or whatever (or a second speaker to pair together). I think that if the sound produced by either of those is great to you then it probably isn't enough better sound quality to justify getting the Xtreme 3 for the price difference. Without playing them side to side (like may videos), you probably wouldn't hear enough difference to justify the cost. Maybe there was an issue with the Xtreme 3 I received so take this all as my opinion and possibly a defective product (all manufacturers have occasional bad ones)

My question is, is there any firmware, software or hardware hack which would allow us to override the auto power-down feature and have the speaker "on" and waiting for bluetooth connections until and unless we *physically* turn it off with the power switch, in our own time? Has any workaround to this been released or discovered?

you read that right but only when cranked to uncomfortable levels and bass heavy music. There are a couple possible reasons for this. I could be asking for the passive radiators to do too much (I have two EQs, after all)

Otherwise they're just very nice bluetooth headphones with good audio and sound. Plus for USB-C charging and a long battery life. It has a sound passthrough to let you hear your surroundings, but i haven't really tried that out yet, but i guess it's nice to have. I think i paid somewhere around 700NOK (80usd) for them and i think they're worth it

Afraid that this junction may fail at some point due to a wrong connection! This is a very weak point in my estimation for this speaker, being that it has to be charged often. Comparing the iPhone charging port to this? The Soundcore, is inferior. Could of done better in design, especially for people who wear glasses?

Fills the ambient air (around her!), purchased for wife and she likes the camo design. Sounds really good, feels good and heavy, not like lightweight junk. Seems like all the good stuff is heavier.

With the default EQ setting, these were absolutely horrible sounding. By cutting some mids, I was able to get a decent sound (posted a picture of my settings) but still a bit boxy. The problem is, in stereo mode, only the master speaker changes with the EQ. This led to a lot of fiddling with connecting and disconnecting the individual speakers to try to get each one EQ’d the same as the other

The Sony looks better but I don't need lights that drain battery. But I am happy with it. Wish it was cheaper.

This new 30 watt Soundcore+ is plenty loud even when climbing up a 6% grade with 40,000 pounds cargo and the huge engine is screaming and the giant fan is blasting like a turboprop at takeoff. I mistakenly bought an Oontz unit with 24 watts and it does not connect easily nor provide adequate clarity or volume, the Anker Soundcore connects effortlessly. Easy automatic reconnect even after my audio book is interrupted by a phone call. I've left the speaker on all night while I sleep and there's plenty of juice left for NPR news with coffee at 4 AM without plugging in the USB

That being said, I'd probably save up a bit more for something with a little more volume and punch for a party, like the Partybox line from JBL.
