 	 	 	Even apart from the charging stand, Black & Decker's 36V Stick can stand on its own and looks like a simple, mini-upright. The grey color palate plays well to this simplicity. It's relatively light at 8 pounds (3.6kg) and the vacuum head attaches to the body with a small hose bookended by two pivoting plates to allow a wide range of maneuverability as you use it

 	 	 	To test our vacuums, we task them with picking up pet hair to see how readily the brushroll gets tangled. Then, we use fruity cheerios to see if the vacs can handle large particles without clogging. Finally, we use sand as a stress test to gauge their ability to deep clean fine particles. We do each test three times on low and mid pile carpets as well as hardwood floors

 That's what I started with and that's what the chart shows. Without the brushroll, it didn't have the suction to grab anything. 	 	 	With the brushroll on, the Black & Decker ORA got 100 percent of the Cheerios on hardwood.  Deep cleaning was also a pro: it scored, 84 % on the embedded sand and the carpet test, beating both the Hoover and the shark by a fair amount. The battery life is a pro Black & Decker says it gets sixty minutes of battery life and that's true, but only on low power with the brush roll off, which is far too low to be effective, but on medium power we tested it at 31 minutes and 13 seconds and 16 minutes and 22 seconds on high power, which is really good, especially when compared to the shark or the Hoover. My personal recommendation would be to use it on medium power with the brush roll on, which will give you more than enough airflow. While getting optimal battery life, it's slightly heavier than the others, we've tested at 8 pounds and 8 ounces, but when you compare that to more traditional cordless vacuums like with most of the weight on the handle or upright vacuums for that matter, it's pretty much a meaningless Difference since compared to those it's like vacuuming with a feather, I also like the different type of swivel on the cleaner head, which gives you a lot more control and maneuverability than the others we've tested so far

 It'S packed with features including a kind of trash compactor for pushing debris down to get more vacuuming time before emptying the bin. It also has an LED light and a lot of power options. Besides being able to shut the brushroll off for hard floor cleaning, it has a low, medium and high power setting. You can also easily remove the brush roll for easy cleaning, which is nice

Black and Decker Powerseries Pro Cordless Vacuum REVIEW + TESTS - Anti Allergen

 Overall it's not a bad choice for simple chores but don't expect a high-powered pet vacuum. Its very convenient when I dont want to pull out my corded vacuum. I would recommend if you want something to use when touching up.

 Charging it fully does take awhile. Suction for the attachments is not the greatest but does the job for cobwebs, upholstery, and curtains. Overall it's not a bad choice for simple chores but don't expect a high-powered pet vacuum. Its very convenient when I dont want to pull out my corded vacuum

Good for basic use

 I am a bit disappointed in the durability of the front wheels in the power head. They only lasted a couple of months and now are clogged with hair and thus immobile. Attempts to clean them out by a mechanically-minded person have repeatedly failed and it just grates along the surface now causing a scraping noise and obvious wear to the plastic on the bottom but it still works. The internals are also a bit flimsy and brittle

 CONS: the waste container is only lightly latched on so is ridiculously easy to accidentally knock off while in use, the waste container hatch is spring-loaded so when the container gets knocked off and hits the floor the hatch springs open spewing everything you just vacuumed (REALLY BAD DESIGN THERE), a standard B&D 20V battery does not last very long when using the motorized attachment (definitely need to use one of the larger 3rd-party batteries), the motorized rug attachment does a poor job on bare wood floors -- I made my own attachment from an old Hoover canister vac (see photos). CONCLUSION: will use this as our main household vacuum, but I still have to figure out a workaround for the absurd waste container latch. For the high price point, I shouldn't have to do that. UPDATE: I used a slice of an old bicycle inner tube as tie-around security for the tumbling waste container

Cordless freedom in B&D's 20V family but with one serious design flaw

 It'll pick up very light material on a smooth surface if it's directly below the suction area. You know when you're using a standard corded vacuum and you get close to something on the floor and the vacuum pulls it in and sucks it up? Or when there's a tuft of hair against a wall and you can push the vacuum against the wall to pull it in? Or when you're vacuuming on a textured floor or floor mat that has crevices about 1/4 inch deep and the vacuum pulls the dirt up and out of the crevices? This vacuum won't do any of that. It's low suction even at the highest setting. For smooth floors, or very low pile mats and throw rugs on hard floors, you'll more often be using the med power

0Ah 100Wh. It's great for this vacuum and also powers my Black-and-Decker drill and other 20vMax tools. The included battery is small, doesn't last long, and you're done when the battery dies. A second battery gets you more time at a higher power, which you're going to need

I don’t think it improves suction at all. The battery lasts pretty long but I can’t say how long because I’ve never used it until it died. All in all, I would say this is good if you need to clean up in a hurry, but definitely not for every day

 The dirt container is a weak design compare to others I have had. The dirt container is difficult to place back on. Stuff gets stuck in the dirt container and it is difficult to clean. It is difficult to use on some carpets and not very smooth

I only bought because I have many 20V BD batteries

Very easy to use, store and recharge.  We have multiple Black and Decker tools in our home so no shortage of extra batteries! The only downfall is the filter clogs quickly and collects a bit of dust, it's been washed a few times but we are desperately looking for a replacement filter as we have two rescue animals that shed - A LOT! PLEASE MAKE REPLACEMENT FILTERS MORE AVAILABLE!

 While cleaning lint out of the dryer and vents, this thing gobbled up lint without hesitation until the canister was stuffed solid all the way to the canister inlet. When cleaning up pine needles, the power head occasionally would get blocked at the narrow point between the head and the tube - but I suspect that this will depend heavily on the species of tree you are cleaning up after. For ordinary cleaning, it does a good job. The power head seems to work equally well on carpet and on hard floors, and it does a good job picking up pet hair

 Nothing terrible, just a little bit annoying to line up. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Price. I try not to deduct points for price, since I can see that up front and can choose to make or not make the purchase, but in this case I made an exception. I'm not sure that I would have bought it at this price if I weren't already heavily invested in the B&D 20V Max battery system

If you're looking for a cordless stick vacuum that's lightweight and easy to carry around, the Dyson Omni-Glide is worth a look. It has a uniquely-designed floorhead with twin rotating soft rollers and four caster wheels, allowing you to easily pivot the vacuum in tight corners and maneuver it around in tight spaces. It weighs considerably less than many other cordless stick vacuums, even other Dyson models like the Dyson V8 Animal. It does a great job dealing with small debris and pet hair on bare floors, though bulky debris tends to get trapped at its suction inlet. It also isn't designed for use on carpeted floors. Its battery life isn't especially long either, as you can only expect a maximum of 30 minutes of runtime in its least-powerful suction mode.

If you're looking for a cordless stick vacuum that can be used on all surfaces and has a longer runtime, you could also look at the Simplicity S65S, though this model is notably heavier than the Omni-glide. Conversely, if you're looking for something even more lightweight, the Dyson Micro 1.5kg is one of the lightest cordless vacuums we've tested, though it's currently quite hard to find.

If you're looking for a cordless stick vacuum that's lightweight and easy to carry around, the Dyson Omni-glide is worth a look. Unlike traditional stick vacuums like the Tineco PURE ONE S11, it's only meant for relatively short cleaning sessions due to its tiny dirt compartment and short maximum battery life of a little under half an hour. Furthermore, its twin soft-roller floorhead is only meant for cleaning bare floors. However, it's exceedingly lightweight, and its uniquely-designed floorhead makes it easy to maneuver it in tight spaces.

While you can't use it on carpets or rugs, this vacuum does a great job dealing with small debris and pet hair on bare floors and is reasonably effective when sealing in fine allergens. Be careful when cleaning up bulky debris, which can get trapped at its suction inlet.

 It'S a genuinely good innovation. That'S well executed design wise, but there are some downsides. The first thing i'll mention is that the battery life wasn't great. I like that the battery was removable and that you could buy extras if you needed to - and i understand that it was critical for them to keep the handle weight down by using a smaller battery

 They do two things that traditional floor heads don't do very well, which is pick up large debris, while maintaining a good seal on floors, as well as picking up super fine debris. Basically, dusting hard floors again something traditional vacuums. Don'T do well with the articulating neck and 360 degree casters on the bottom, make it incredibly maneuverable and able to do things and go places. Regular vacuums can't i'll have a lot to say about this aspect of the omni glide later, but first, let's hit some of the specs and test results

 But i would have liked to see a bit more than 20 minutes on standard power and about four minutes on max power. I should mention that i didn't need to use the max power mode in the pickup tests, except for the glitter test, because glitter has a way of sticking to the floors. All that to say that 20 minutes on standard power is probably what you can actually expect in real world use. Another negative is that, while hair didn't get caught in the roller per se, it did get caught in the axles of the roller, and it's something i think would be easy for someone to overlook and have problems with if they didn't remove it regularly
