Cherry MX Brown vs Kailh BOX Switches

Perhaps unsurprisingly, both Cherry MX and Gateron browns came out at the bottom of the ranking by this measure. On top of that, some experiments I did with swapping in more tactile stems confirm that the brown switches also have relatively weak tactile leaf springs.

Myself I have a Blackwidow X and Elite, as well as a Huntsman Mini but the decision to get Durgod Hades was one of the best spending decision of my typing life. Their CS is terrible, I heard, but the build quality and selection of switches may be worth it. (Though in retrospect I would have went with a Ducky who have much better CS, just in case I would need it for whatever reason.) I always thought that Razer mech and optical switches were nice but not until I tried some Kailh Box Jades with proper non-rattling lubed stabilizers -- my mind was blown

\- layout / form in mind: MS Natural Keyboard is too bulky - I never use silver keys or the small keys around the num pad nor navigation keys. Prefer quiet keys - currently I am using a classic mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches and my girfried is complaining that I am too loud. \- use case: software development / scientific writing every day , occasional computer games. \- budget and/or location, if applicable: around 150$ , Montreal, Canada

i used Kailh Box Navys at work (loud lab) and moved to a open work space, within 3 days i got complaints that i was ruining conference calls. I had new parts on the way to replace it, i thought i could get by a couple weeks while i waited for them.

00 I bought it for just because it had browns in it this is a bad keyboard. Believe it or not, $80 doesn't necessarily guarantee you a good keyboard. ...

PBT key caps ISO - budget, ideally calm aesthetic look. Not transparent, I will turn off the RGB in GMMK.

Right now I am looking into the Gateron yellows and reds. I currently have an old Corsair K70 with Cherry MX Brown switches and, having heard sound tests with other switches, think that it is time for a change. So far I have been looking into the GMMK compact and HyperX pudding keycaps for a setup with RGB that is prominent but not too overwhelming.

2 - Replace keycaps with PBT (Keychron keycaps are ABS and not very good ABS either!! They start to get that ABS shine within a week)

Keyboard feels really cheap. I love the PBT keycaps, the beautiful RGB, but the typing experience feels very cheap. I got the Cherry MX Brown switches (bought from mechnicalkeyboards.com, so I'm hoping it's not like a counterfeit that I happened to get), and my god it really feels like typing on a $30 knock off keyboard

BOX Whites are an excellent switch at their price point, and are pretty close to being the best clicky switch available, given how uncompetitive the segment is. The main competition is Cherry's MX Blue and other BOX clickies which use more or less the same design. MX Blues sound cheap and rattly and feel very scratchy. BOX White's click bar design allows it to sound a lot better, while the BOX housing eliminates a lot of the rattle that MX Blues are known for
