  This is a personal preference, but I do also like that it isn't too strappy. Don't get me wrong, a hiking bag is great but when you're running around the store, office, airport, wherever, all those straps become flails that hit everyone, or catch on everything. The only thing this bag has is a chest strap, which is just about perfect for an everyday bag.  The cons:  This bag is big

  Deep water bottle pockets. They actually fit a hydroflask bottle and once everything settles, it holds everything in well enough that you can set the bag down without it ejecting your bottle.  This is a personal preference, but I do also like that it isn't too strappy.  But still.  The straps could be a little longer. When I put this on wearing a big coat or my motorcycle jacket, I tend to run out of strap to let out before I put the backpack on and tighten it up again.  The rigidity may not be for you if you carry big poofy things like sweaters

 The only thing this bag has is a chest strap, which is just about perfect for an everyday bag.  The cons:  This bag is big. Not just in capacity, but footprint. I have a large frame, so it fits me well but if you're on the slender side you're going to look like a little kid on their first day of kindergarten

 Just to help keep your back uh, nice and dry, and not so sweaty. Now. One interesting thing is the shoulder straps, where they're attached they're just kind of attached with this uh nylon here, which actually gives it a little more flex. So you can throw this bag on and off a little bit easier gives it a little more pivoting on top, which is a nice touch, and then you just have a little loop on top

  Pockets, storage, zippers etc. are thoughtful and hit that sweet spot of 'just enough'..

  Solid straps (durable and comfortable).  I got the black bag, and would have no problem taking it into a meeting if necessary - I wouldn't say it's the most professional bag, but it's definitely not unprofessional/high-schoolish.

Ideal Personal Item

 I am NOT gentle with my bags, and this thing is still in great shape! It has a couple of minuscule marks from paint that it's picked up as a result of me scraping it along walls, but it's easily cleaned with a damp paper towel/rag. All of the hardware is still in great shape. Ideal Personal Item - Less Durable than Expected

 The backpack feels like a quality item.  There is an internal sleeve for a laptop, and pockets on the outside of the bag. The integrated laptop sleeve is made from a soft, synthetic fabric and will hold a 15" laptop. The outside pocket is covered with a flap secured with velcro, and inside is a zippered pocket

Nice Looking Backpack

 (small compartment on the back you can stash credit cards, passports or anything else that's kind of out of the way)  On the front of the bag you have a spot to stash documents that this bag is designed to keep safe even in bad weather conditions. You have spots on the left and right where you can store a water bottle to keep things safe and ready to go.  All in all this is a solid top zip bag that can handle whatever you throw at it. I love the look, I feel confident with this bag when I am out and about, it's a touch expensive, but what you're paying for is the military grade construction

Great travel backpack

 Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it.  -comfortable carry-on bag that is designed as a minimal backpack. Can be incognito from budget airlines and can blend into a crowd of people in a city without looking like a tourist

 Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes. Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it

I was torn between this and the Osprey Farpoint 40L. After trying both of them out, the Tortuga won. Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes

Best Travel Backpack

 Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag. If you don’t have inserts of your own you might want to buy them to help maintain shape structure but overall highly recommended.

I took the 45L bag from the US to Rio and back as a carry-on bag. No issues from the airlines and I had the bag full to max weight with equipment and clothing. Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag
