Clever Dripper vs KALITA Wave Dripper

I preferred the pour over every time. The best way I can explain it is the pour over always emphasized a little more of the coffee's intrinsic "brightness", while the Clever tended to greatly lack this by comparison and slightly overemphasize oily flavors. A B+ at best to the Hario's solid A. The Clever may be better for entertaining a large group due to its convenience for brewing larger batches

Just right for my taste buds. Cleanup is a breeze compared to the French press. I use approximately 27 g of coffee to 425 g of water. The device won't hold much more liquid than that

The Kalita standardizes the flow rate, so you just vary the temperature of the water & grind size to get the taste of coffee you want. I use the settings below and it's so good I don't feel like experimenting anymore. No time for that. In my opinion, it surpasses the Aeropress, too, with a much easier cleanup, less complicated brew process, and better taste

- I normally do a "deep clean" of the CCD by just pouring in nothing but boiling water after every few days. I'd just let it sit inside and let the hot water remove some of the leftover coffee smell. - Try to clean the CCD with hot water as much as possible if you have to rinse it right after a brew. Rinsing it with cold water might wrap the plastic

Sorry if you don't live near an Asian neighborhood. I already have a Zojirushi water boiler to keep my water at either 195 or 208 F. 195F for darker roasts and fine grinds (Japanese style) or 208F for American style since the the pour over pot will cool down the water.
