My old Hoover did not pick up as good as this one does, but it never shut down when I hit a rug's edge. It might stop turning until I get it off the edge but it would start up again. This flaw is absolutely infuriating. I have talked with Hoover and they say that's the way it is designed so not to tangle up on a loose thread, but good God almighty, I spend as much time shutting it down and turning it back on as I do actually vacuuming

There’s one really good option the Hoover T-Series/Tempo UH30301 $150. It’s a plain traditional upright but it does just about everything and has Hepa bags for good filtration. It’s not the best handling on hard floors but the brushroll shutoff won’t scatter or scratch. Parts are cheap and plentiful but use the Hoover Hepa bags because they filter best and will extend the life of the vacuum

This little baby will stay charged for me to hit the highlights every other day or so for a week in a 2000 sq ft house that's mostly hard wood. The canister is easy to dump and I don't have to touch any of the gross stuff. Emptying the canister is super easy, and if you don't let it get too full, it can easily be emptied indoors into your kitchen trash without making a mess. The vacuum is not good at getting close to walls so the hose attachments are a must for finishing the edges of the room, and the hose itself is very short meaning you really have to work in close quarters to the vacuum body when using it. However, all in all I love it! I'm never been one to enjoy vacuuming but this Hoover makes it a breeze! I was super excited for this cordless vacuum. It does however work great on my tiles and wood floors! Easy to empty and clean.

It easily detaches and you can dump it right into your garbage with a little shake. It's nice that the HEPA filter is rinse-able, too, and shouldn't have to be replaced. How much are you saving on bags? Tons! The retractable cord was great engineering, as well. My not having to hold the cord while I vacuum is HUGE

I have a German Shepherd, this vacuum didn't even last one cleaning before the tube was clogged full of hair. It's poorly designed with too small of a tube from the head to the canister. Would not recommend if your pet sheds.

The motor has become VERY loud! Not cool! I have dropped my rating from 4 stars to 3 now. For a unit being used for normal household vacuuming it should last at least five years. A replacement motor is 52 bucks plus shipping an installation cost. Is it worth it? I am obviously not a happy camper now

It looks exactly like the old one, but unfortunately it's louder (and unconfidently moans when it runs), feels much cheaper, and most importantly FAR LESS POWERFUL. Why would Hoover mess with success?? My advice is to stay away from the BH50020PC. Very disappointed loyal Hoover buyer here.
