 Reading the rulebook, why don't more games do this throughout the rulebook when ever comes to a new section, there's always a little section of the rules that explains the history of the real world, history of rebuilding Lisbon and the personalities involved, and why the rules work. Hi everybody final thoughts, I'm for lisboa, here's, a big game - I mean you know, never buy the fact. This is a gigantic box. Look at it bigger than my head. I get so huge, but on the game itself is just phenomenal in its scope, the scope of its simulation - and I guess that's not surprising because you know design reveal - is harder

 You can pull on and it's up to you to decide what is best Jen and I, when we're playing a big heavy monster of an economic simulation like this, we generally find out. Us put us in a corner, give us a really tough problem to solve, and then we set out to do it

The Galerist I could see being higher than escape plan but I only played it once and not with my normal group so it may just have been that play.

On Mars for me, while very complex, a lot of the complexity makes sense and is consistent across systems and you can often find yourself having these big combo turns that feel great. 

Having played The Galerist, On Mars, Lisboa, and Escape plan (I have Kanban EV but have yet to play it), I'd rank them On Mars, Escape Plan, The Galerist, and then much lower, Lisboa. From going through he rules I'm guessing Kanban will be on either side of the Galerist or possibly above On Mars.

Lisboa I found incredibly convoluted in a way where it wasn't clear to me what I needed to do to score points. 

I'm a pretty big Lacerda fanboy, and with Kanban EV finally in and a couple of plays, I find myself reflecting on how much I love his games. I own and have played: Lisboa, Vinhos, Gallerist, Kanban EV and Escape Plan. The only one that was kind of a miss for me was Escape Plan but I need to play again to form a solid opinion.

My favorite so far has been Lisboa, with Kanban taking second. I love his games and how intuitive the games play once you get past the learning hump. And of course the beautiful productions by Eagle Gryphon make the games even more enjoyable.

I didn't back On Mars, but I'm kind of wishing I did at this point given my love of his other games. I think the theme turned me off a little, and the rules seemed more fiddly than his usual.

What are your thoughts on Lacerda? Any favorites? Did I make a mistake not getting On Mars? Is Escape Plan worth more chances?

What Did You Play This Week? - (August 23, 2021)

I really want to like Kanban more, as it is really such an elegant design.  But, playing it, I always feel like I'm forced to play a certain way by the game and not really able to pursue what I want.  And if I try to deviate from this, I lose horribly.  I'm always left feeling a bit frustrated by the experience at the end

I finally decided to pick up a Lacerda game, since ppl say his games are really thematic and complex, and that sounds awesome.
After watching some videos about all of his games, Kanban EV and The Gallerist are the two that looks the most appealing.
Which one should I get? 
In fact, how they rank among your favourite Lacerdas?

Bower's Game Corner

 With a board game that requires parental oversight to be usable, it's either too guided to learn by trial-and-error, or it becomes frustrating quickly and the kids give up.  I hate that this review sounds so harsh since I truly love what this game is trying to do but I just don't see it working well because of how much parental oversight it requires. Note: I had my daughters try out web-based computer teaching games and they took to it much quicker and could solve problems they struggled with on the board game.

Good if you have the time to work with your kids on it, not so much for self-play

 But anyway getting off on a tangent those are the real cons I have not going to be for big strategy gamers or gaming groups or anything like that this is purely for kids. Moving on to the pros though Robot Turtles I saw it on Kickstarter which it absolutely tore up Kickstarter and they instantly appealed to my heart I'm a preschool teacher they said this is for ages 3 and up and I was like I'm getting a copy of this game I got it I brought it in my classroom and let me tell you this game went over like gangbusters they loved it they went crazy for this game it got to the point where I said alright I'm not bringing it in for a week because I'm sick of playing it with you guys because they wanted to play it so much. They're all aged from 3 to 5 and you can definitely see one thing I loved about this game was you can make it more or less complex based on how advanced the children are but a lot of the times I would have 3 year olds playing and I would have 5 year olds playing and I could set up the 5 year old side of the board to be more tricky and I could set up the 3 year old side of the board to be pretty clear and it really adds a nice deal of customization there so you can really play this with children anywhere from I'd say ages 3 to 6, 7 and you're kind of pushing it. They're going to have a lot of fun with this game

 Next, you are going to have stone walls and you are going to have ice walls. Now the stone walls, once you set them there, they are an obstacle. You slap and you say bug and that means that you get to redo your maneuver so let's pretend you turn this way you get to redo that so you move it back and then you can take the yellow card and move that. But any who you are going to try and get to your gem and once everyone has got to their gem you can all have a big old hug and say hooray Billy you got your turtle to your gem because turtles need gems

 Today I'm checking out Robot Turtles from ThinkFun.

 Ages three and up, it'll take about five to fifteen minutes to play, and in Robot Turtles

 players will be steering around turtles, shooting lasers, melting ice, trying to get the jewels.

 Alright then, we're going to take a look at what you're going to get inside of Robot Turtles.

 First and foremost we've got our handy dandy rule booklet, which what, it doesn't have

 When I opened this up I was excited to get it, and this really soured me at first.

 The other thing that kind of bugged me was that half of this rule booklet is literally

 just thanking backers, but they got so many backers I guess that's kind of necessary since
