The Enter key is SO soft and mushy and I've noticed many of the keys, like the pair of Space bars, are also soft and don't register contact multiple times. VERY frustrating as I can type around 50 wpm and I'm having to Backspace WAY too much! GRR!. I want to send this POS back and try another brand, but I've found no other alternatives in my searches.

 It might be marginally but use it for a couple hours and it's going to need a charge. I wouldn't recommend this for students. Having 2 classes in row will mean you're looking to sit near a plug in class to keep it charged. You can dim the screen down but that's not always possible when you're in a bright classroom

 My old model, with a card slot, I routinely swapped out cards depending on my usage. I was hoping the battery life was some improved. It might be marginally but use it for a couple hours and it's going to need a charge. I wouldn't recommend this for students

Good but with some disappointments.

We did not open the shrink wrap as there was no indication of a keyboard. Be aware of false depictions of keyboard included even in the video. Otherwise, the product should be ok if you want a tablet, not a PC.

Battery life is enough to get through a whole day of use without having to recharge (with everything set to max and shitting on all energy saving options). I really like the pre-installed Samsung apps for productivity and they make maintaining the notebook fairly easy. I almost bought a Microsoft Surface 3 but that was a little too expensive for me so I went for the Samsung one, to propose another device.

I know the majority of people on here, like myself, are mostly interested in desktops but hopefuly someone out there can give me some laptop recomendations. ive done a lot of research and its hard to pick. 

So i want to buy a laptop for school because A) I cant bring my desktop to class and B) it would be nice to have a computer i could bring to study groups and what not. 

My desktop is a pretty buff gaming rig so im looking for a laptop that makes a really good moble workstation. Im a poly sci student so it doesnt need to be able to run enginering software or test code or anything like that; just a smoth user experience with enough memory for heavy browser usage. 

from doing my research, im leaning toward an M1 macbook air but im cautious because id realy rather stick with windows to make file sharing with my desktop easy. the price for what you get with the mac though is hard to beat. 

things I consider musts in a laptop are:

ssd boot drive (256 gb is fine. you can always buy external ssd)

preferebly windows OS (do not suggest chrome OS, that is a phone in a laptops body)

excellent batery life

thin and light. not looking to carry around a literal brick. 

nice feel, not super cheap and plasticy. frame and keyboard should feel sturdy.

A nice display. 1080p res is fine but it should at least be ips with decent colour accuracy. higher than 60 hz refresh would be nice but not necessary.

cpu and memory dont need to be anything crazy, but i want to be able to boot up get stuff done quickly. it should be able to burn through chrome and microsoft office no probem. onboard grapics is fine considering i wont be rendering or anything. 

budget is well... kinda whatever fits what im looking for. obviously i dont need a 2500 dollar workbook but i dont want to spend 500 dollars on a bottom of the line notebook that becomes obsolete after 5 months of use. the mac air really does fit everything im looking for, but id prefer windows.

Any suggestions?

College laptop recomendations

so after a month of owning this laptop i have noticed that it is faster than my overpriced mac desktop in every way. update and restart in 22 seconds. i have not noticed any jitters or connection issues like others have stated.

This laptop is seriously worth the price.

 I gave up a separate number keypad to have a smaller and lighter laptop. If I was dealing with a lot of numbers I would look at a different machine or buy a sperate keypad for those times.
