They were itchy on my shoulders and just felt bulky. Just FYI, I have a pretty small frame. I’m 5’2 and 120 pounds. While this backpack is very well made and has all the bells and whistles, it just isn’t a good fit for me

Plus, our last trip, my daughter took an older model Half Dome pack that was not a perfect fit but a great size capacity for her gear. This one was too small for that same amount of weight/gear. Maybe we just need to get her smaller gear tho.

A lot of the problems are related to weight savings, which makes sense for a hiking like day pack.

You know it's in the middle of the bag, so you don't have to worry about padding in the front or back of it, because you have a full pocket and frame ...

It has plenty of pockets and storage. The main pocket is large and has a place to hand a water bladder. There are plenty of little storage places around the pack to put all the gear I would need for most outings. I like the way it fit and it was easy to adjust to fit my shoulders and waist

Additionally, the backpack strap material is quite abrasive to bare skin which means you can't wear anything without sleeves. And the metal frame means that you can't just fold it or tuck it away -- but it will stop your laptops or papers from being crushed. At 34L, the backpack promises a lot of storage space but between the separate compartments for the laptop and other accessories, there really isn't a lot of room for stuff. Overall, this backpack is better suited for overnight stays and perhaps even weekend trips, definitely not every day commuting to work

This pack allowed her to comfortably carry the ten essentials, her down sleeping bag, a cut-down pad, her clothes, and a stuffed cat she sleeps with (in the outside pocket so Kitty could take in the views). The pack is very well made and comfortable. It’s a “real” pack that’s scaled down where many kids packs are frankly junk. I’m impressed by the design features, materials and build quality

The compression straps in the 2019 model cover the outside pocket zipper, so the straps have to be undone if you need to get to any of the pockets except the top mini scratch-free pocket. I suggest putting the compression strap behind the front pocket, like in the 2018 model. 3. Adjustable straps are flying everywhere! This is a bit of a hassle for me because the zipper runs down almost halfway down the bag. I've order some "instant zipper sliders" to solve this issue myself. 2. The compression straps cover the single zipper pocket mentioned above, so in order to unzip that pocket, I'd have to first undo both compression straps
