Unfortunately, their in-ear fit can be fatiguing over time. The buds can also fall out of your ear with moderate head shakes, which is a little disappointing if you want to wear them during a run in the park. Luckily, they come with several differently-sized pairs of ear tips to help you get the best fit.

They have a long, roughly 17.5-hour battery life, meaning you can take them from work to the gym without any recharging. Their sound lacks low bass, but otherwise, it's well-balanced, so vocals and lead instruments are clear and detailed. They also have a comfortable, stable fit, and although they don't have ANC, they block out a decent amount of mid-range ambient noise like background conversations

Out of the box, these well-built and decently comfortable earbuds have a warm and dark sound profile well-suited for vocal-centric genres like podcasts. However, if you prefer a different sound, their companion app offers a graphic EQ and presets so that you can tweak them to suit your tastes. Their continuous battery life of over eight hours is fairly solid, and they have a standby mode that can help you save battery life when you're not actively using them.

According to Sony's website these headphones only support SBC & AAC bluetooth codecs (no aptx), so in theory they should sound bettery on devices that support bluetooth AAC but at this sound performance category it will likely not be a perceivable difference The main issue with these headphones is the collar. It is a rigid material so if it does not happen to fit the size of your neck it will feel like you are wearing a shirt that is too tight around the neck.

Their ANC feature also does a very good job of isolating you from a range of background noise, from the low rumble of bus and plane engines to ambient conversations. They also support NFC for easier pairing and can connect simultaneously with two devices.

You get a small amount of passive noise cancellation from just having these in, as it forms a seal in your ear, good enough for light office noise, probably won't help much on an airplane for instance. The buttons are a nice feature, though I feel the volume up and down are reversed from how I would have intuitively laid them out. Watching videos over bluetooth has a noticeable delay/sync issue. I have a fairly older phone though (note5) so it might not have the latest BT version, I've heard improvements have been made there

These headphones last 8.6 hours continuously and have a standby mode to help conserve battery life when you're not using them.

I should have let it run down so I could say how long it lasts, but tbh it’s never died on me yet and sometimes I’ve had them connected all day. I put them on to charge about 20-30 minutes a day out of habit and they probably don’t even have to be charged that much. I thought the little thin wires that go from the neck piece to the earbuds would be too fragile, but so far they’ve done fine. In the past, some earbuds had ear pieces that were too wide and hurt my ears, but these do not

The Sony WI-1000XM2 are the newest model of the WI-1000X line. Improving on design more than hardware, their silicone neckband and carrying case look sleek and refined. Unfortunately, these headphones have a decreased battery life when compared to their predecessor, even if they charge slightly quicker. Their sound profile is also darker and lacks bass

The Good: Battery life is exceptional. Sound quality is adequate for this price range. They fit comfortably on the neck and in the ears. The Bad: There is some humming sound from the earbuds when the phone they are connected to is in use even when no sound should be coming through

They will not start put, and while I have them on they are uncomfortable regardless of what squishies I try or how I turn them. They constantly fall out. I couldn't share a review of the sound quality simply because I can't wear them. For that they get a thumbs down from me, dawg

the only up side to these is they are comfortable. really disappointed in the quality if the sound, normally Sony is much better. also the headset feature doesn't work well.

Who thought 2 is enough these days? * Worse, switching devices is a pain, you have to disable Bluetooth on the device you are connected to in order to connect to the other. Contrast that to Bose where you tap and hear the headphones cycle through devices, stop to connect. I never realized how well Bose does this until discovering how poorly Sony does (and apparently this is true of most headphones other than Bose). * But at least you can plug in the audio cable to connect to your laptop and use a wired connection

The Sony WI-C400 are average-at-best wireless in-ears with an easy-to-use control scheme and a long battery life. They're stable enough for sports use and have a decently comfortable fit, but they have a treble-heavy sound that may be a bit too piercing for some. They also lack a lot of bass. They won't be the best headphones for watching a lot of video content either and take a considerable amount of time to charge, but on the upside, they do not leak much even at high volumes
