 It's just ant plus So we've disabled that jump back to the wasp utility And we can see now that the power meter for 1733 is gone and the speed and cadence sensor for 1733 is gone However, FEC is still there because that's really all we need Okay test number two Same setup as last time so over here to Zwift again and exactly the same settings and you can see there quite a few of the Profiles have now dropped off because it's no longer broadcasting what we don't need FEC controllable trainer FEC on the power meter 1733 yep, and the cadence sensor Which only has one listed which is a lot cleaner and neater than having the three that were there before All righty cool cool and it's time for Veronica to ride another five kilometers over ten minutes same course Everything else remains the same Before we jump in and have a look at the log files to see if this has made any difference now to review the log file from ride number two with only FEC from the taxneo2 and We will scroll down To the analysis and then we can see 9.33 percent so not a total Removal of all RX fails there or failures, but a significant decrease from around 16 percent So switching between the two so 16.25 there and you can see the red line is pretty jagged Over here, which is looking a lot better with 9.33

 There's three cadence sensors coming from the unit, which we really don't need We're going FEC all the way today for all these tests. So that's selected here Okay, trifecta in place FEC all around using ant plus and Let's jump in for the ride. And yes, I will admit Veronica.25 now this is with both ant plus signals taking place or ant plus signals broadcasting But only one use I'm only using FEC So the other one is unused and is getting in the way now any excuse to pull up a terminal window Let's have a look at the exact amount of the word fail in that log file We have 610 instances of the word fail over just 10 minutes on Zwift Okay into the toolbox and something pretty cool now This is the NPE wasp which will pick up all the signals in the llama lab here and tell me what's what so we can See an ant plus cadence sensor here on the bike We can see 1733 power, which is the taxneo2 1733 speed and cadence which again is the taxneo2 and we can also see there the FEC 1733 so the fitness equipment control so We can see from here the FEC which is really all we need But there's also that legacy speed and cadence sensor and power meter from 1733 Which are the two things we want to disable So to disable those we jump over to the tax utility app

TACX Neo 2 Smart Trainer // Better ANT+ Signal How To

Less than 5,000 kilometers and two problems with grinding noise / fried bearings requiring tech support on my 2T. It is mind boggling that it takes more than a week to reach resolution thanks to more than 24 hours delay EVERY TIME they respond. To be clear, there is no hassle over the problem itself, just an incredible slow walk with regard to resolution. Chat vs email would be an enormous improvement

  I couldn't get a response from Tacx (now Garmin) customer service, but Wiggle customer service were very good and although inconvenient for me to arrange the return this was managed and I was kept informed.  I would have liked some sort of correspondence from Tacx as my 30 day app free trial was fast disappearing and I wanted to talk to them about a replacement.  As it was the team at Wiggle could not discuss the training app and I  received a refund.  Now I am going to order a Wahoo unit as a replacement and go onto Trainer Road instead

  I started on a training programme and was very happy with it for one whole week when, on the fourth use, after about 5 minutes I started to smell burning/hot metal and then all of the resistance fell away.  Having let it cool down and tried again the same thing happened. Broke on fourth use

 Now I tried this and it worked flawlessly. Connecting to Zwift with Bluetooth worked straight away and the trainer didn't drop signal even when I stopped pedaling for around 10 seconds or so. The road feel was working as normal I thought that wouldn't work when there was no power in but it did and it was it was working well. The downhill assist doesn't work though but that's a minor point to be honest

 I honestly think they're great, I love the features, what they allow you to do, the ride quality and even the style of the damn thing but you won't pick one up for less than a thousand pounds, twelve hundred dollars. So is it worth purchasing one? Yes if you have the money otherwise would you be better off going for something like the Wahoo Kickr Core which is basically half the price at around £600, £650. Now the ride quality is great, you can ride it without powering it on. There is downhill assist, it does mimic road feel, there is no calibration, the list of features go on

 A chain whip will be used to grip the cassette and provide opposite tension. A cassette tool that fits your specific cassette and a wrench preferably a torque wrench but if you don't have a torque wrench an adjustable wrench will do. Grip the cassette with the chain whip, install the cassette tool into the lock ring of the cassette and then tighten it by applying pressure in one direction with the chain whip and the other direction with the wrench. It's hard to know when you don't have something to compare it to that you know is 100% accurate but what I look for is consistency and making sure there are no highs and lows in the power data that is transmitted

 So is it worth buying? That is the big question. I'm always a little conflicted when reviewing these products. I honestly think they're great, I love the features, what they allow you to do, the ride quality and even the style of the damn thing but you won't pick one up for less than a thousand pounds, twelve hundred dollars.  The Tacx Neo 2T Smart Turbo Trainer is one of the best turbo trainers on the market right now and it is packed full of features which we will cover extensively in this video. For the pricey sum of around £1,100 or $1,276 you get a QR skewer, various adapters to fit different bike types which we'll try later in this video, you'll also get some washers and spacers as well as some documents and of course the power cable. So if you're looking at using Apple TV with its limitation of two Bluetooth devices, you can use a tax Neo for all that data and one heart rate monitor and you've got the whole range of data you need for your indoor workouts

 So if you're on a simulated downhill gradient, the freewheel will actually spin for you. It doesn't make you go any faster in game. That relies on your watts, but it will spin over and tick just like you're riding outside. Road surface simulation

 The Neo 2 adopts all the technologies and feature sets from the Tacx Neo 1 and adds a few small refinements for a better experience. Here is the list right here that everyone has been asking for.  It's fascinating stuff And here's a close-up of the flywheels with the magnets offset for the Neo 2T Not straight up and down anymore a little bit offset Onto the unit specifications and on paper not a lot different between the Neo 1 and the Neo 2 they were ahead of their time So we have a direct drive, interactive smart trainer, ERG mode, SIM mode and more We have isotonic, isokinetic modes with the Neos. They can do some pretty funky things. By compatibility We have quick release 130, 135 and now 142 and 148 native through axle support That's a good thing. Shimano compatible free hub does not come with a cassette, wireless protocols, ANT+, ANT+, FEC, Bluetooth Smart, Bluetooth FTMS, the data transmission, speed, cadence, power and trainer control Which means if you're on Apple TV, you get the trifecta

 That's easy You just pack it straight back up and send it back and that has occurred recently This one is just out a little bit So I was searching and searching and searching but at the end of the day Unboxing this and getting on the pedals wasn't what I expected It wasn't up to the standard of the NEO-1 and the NEO-2 at this point in time with the current firmware Look, and this is why I've entitled this video the initial review because we're not quite done yet So it's clear the NEO-2T does need some refinements and hopefully we'll see those ones rolled out very very soon because I'm looking at retiring That NEO-1 that workhorse is now tired. But after my experience with the 2T, I'm now tired as well Okay in summary and wrapping this one up for today Tacx have addressed a few of the issues We've raised with the NEO-1 and the 2 that is the thru-axle support It's now native thru-axle and the on-bike ride experience, especially in regard to that virtual tire slip has been virtually eliminated. That is excellent There's just a bit of a question around the power accuracy and getting that in line with the previous models Okay, leaving it there for today.  Introduced today at Eurobike 2019, an update from Tacx to their flagship direct drive smart trainer, the Neo 2T This is the second update we've seen to the original Neo unit in the last 12 months with the Neo 2 being announced in October November last year. Cutting straight to the details on this one Here are the updates that come today with the Neo 2T. First up, native thru-axle support So no longer do we need a quick release adapter. You can use your thru-axle from your bike to mount on the Neo 2T There's a more powerful resistance unit which addresses the virtual tire slip So more power, more resistance at lower flywheel speeds Even quieter operation with the internal neodymium magnets That's where the word Neo comes from, being aligned a little differently to quieten things down And finally the pedaling analysis on the Neo 2T supports open standards So it's compatible with your head units and other software One of the key updates mentioned there with the 2T is the ability of the unit to apply more Resistance at a lower flywheel speed so you don't get that virtual tire slip That was one of the things on the Neo 1 and 2 that really got to me This appears to be virtually eliminated

 Thing to know about this is that it's $1,399 US, whereas the top of the line kicker trainer is $1,199. These are the two that are compared the most. What do you get with the kicker? Well, what I've always said with the kicker is that if you want compatibility with the climb where the front end goes up and down, then you have to get the kicker. It doesn't work with other trainers

 Now there are already some really good reviews out there that go into the nitty gritty details of testing exactly how accurate this is, like to the millisecond of how responsive it is. Those reviews are great, but in my experience, that isn't how most people use it. Most people aren't going to take weeks and weeks to go through every last little bit of a trainer. They wanna be able to pull a trainer out of the box, have it work really quickly and have it feel really good without a whole lot of fussing around

 All you have to do is go to either your old trainer or to your rear bike tire. And once you've got the tools to do it, you need a cassette nut, I think that's what that's called. Pop it in, get a big crescent wrench, just a normal one that most people would have. Tighten that up, and then here's the specific tool that you need, you need a chain whip to hold that in place

 One, two, three, four, now that's on, we're ready to put it together, and we're at 10, 17, 15 minutes. So the footprint of this, as far as the room that it takes up around the trainer, is pretty big. I would say maybe 30, 40% larger than a Kicker or a Hammer. So if you're tight on space, that's a consideration

Direct drives are quiet heavy so you can’t pack it up and take it on a flight but they do tuck away nicely at home/in a car.

I picked up a used Tacx NEO 2T Smart Trainer a few months ago and love it — have put ~1,000 miles on it with no issues. Not sure of the exact number but it can handle like 20% simulated inclinces which is high for indoor trainers. If you can find one for a good deal, I highly recommend

Indoor Bike Trainer Recs?

 It'S fab, it's nice, because it's in three sections! You do get that tiny little bit of rest and period between each kind of section of intervals, which obviously you really need, and by the end, as you can probably see from the footage i i am hanging out. I am yeah struggling at the end um, but it's completely manageable. It'S not too much of a task, and i think when you can complete a workout in in its entirety and when you can complete a workout and know that you've hit every interval and given it full beams at every interval, it makes you feel it makes. You feel amazing, it gives you dolphins, it gives you those endorphins um, and it just yeah makes you really incredible

 I am a lazy girl, like i just love riding my bike. I just want to enjoy it, whereas in there, in my pain, cave um, when i'm using my wahoo kicker core, i am pushed to my limit. I pushed harder than i would push myself normally so yeah, oh core and zwift is a really really good tool. If you want to improve, i really hope you've enjoyed my little tour de zwift or tour
