Astro Gaming A10 (Gen 2) Review

I’m coming from an Astro A10 headset. Given the huge price disparity, I was thinking the g pro x’s would be a pretty decent upgrade but it appears the mic quality is not nearly as good. I saw some old posts (10 months to a year) from people complaining about it but they were saying it was because of a ghub update. A lot of people said their mic worked great and had great quality and then they sounded like they were in a trash can after an update

 Wouldn't recommend these to anyone since I expected much higher quality for this headset it can easily improve in the following, comfort (headband like pushes down on head and starts hurting from pressure after very short amount of time.) Sound quality, I feel it's kind of quiet compared to so many other headsets on the market, and the rolling volume changer to me feels ghetto and would've been much classier with a small display screen and +/- buttons and even better would be to have adjustments to bass/treble etc using same buttons/screen just using a settings or menu button to navigate to other settings, and pretty sure that would've only added maybe 5 bucks tops to the cost which would've been worth paying IF the comfort factor was there which is isn't. I like the cloth kinda (picks up pet hair super easily which is annoying but better than leather on the ears in my opinion) and lastly the mic seems to be of good enough quality from what friends said after speaking to them using it.

It is a pain unlike ahy other headche i am familiar with, something stingy, which keeps lasting for up to 1 hour after i put them off. There are very few exceptions from that, and i havent found the common denominator between them. Some cheap open over-ear headsets do not cause that. 
So, currently i am using in-ears, but i would love to own some high quality over-ears which would not cause this painful sensation. 

So i am not too specific about any technical requirements, but am hoping that i am not the only one suffering from that phenomenon and someone else has found their solution for that.

Any headphone not giving a headache

I stupidly fell in love with the aesthetic of the headset, and decided why the heck not. However, I had trouble with the audio on my microphone from the get go.  First problem, the aux to mic-headset splitter, always made a horrible buzzing noise, so using my mic made others peoples ears bleed. It only got worse the more I used it, I changed ports, even tried aux to USB, but that didn't help

  There is isn't much else to complain about. But mic is not it.  Audio quality was actually unexpectedly good, I like having physical control of the volume but the little dial is a pain to find and roll. I like that this is a durable headset, that was one of the main reasons I bought it, and unlike other headsets I've owned, the cable connection to the headset didn't deteriorate since it just unplugged instead of having the wiring bend and break

I'd say I have a wide head and the headset never hurt my ears because the cups were big enough to cover them. I really like how adjustable it was

1st Gen Way Better

Hey there, 
I am **deciding between the HiFiMAN Sundara and the Sennheiser HD650**.

I have no experience in high end audio, so idk waht sound signature I like.

My plan is to also buy a suitable dac/amp and use my phone (Spotify) as a source.

I own the Sony WF1000MX3, which are great for commuting, but I just want something to sit back and really enjoy music, not produce or analyse it.

I mostly lsiten to Rock-related music, but also some rap and electro. Pretty much anything but pop.

All help deciding is greatly appreciated

I am a headphone beginner but plan in the near future to purchase a Hifiman Ananda and a Grado RS 2e. I want to purchase an amplifier/dac and can’t decide between the Schiit Asgard 3 (Good sound/not portable) or the iFi hip dac (portable). Is the Asgard 3 sufficiently better in terms of sound to forgo the (minor) convenience of portability? Will these two particular sets of headphones sound better paired with either of those amplifiers? Thanks.

**Will you be using these Headphones in Public?** No. (Actually I might be willing to depending on what I get, but I'm buying solely for home use, anything extra is a fringe benefit)

**Preferred Type of Headphone** \- Over ear, I'm looking to block out ambient noise

**Preferred tonal balance** \- Since they're for movies, something generally balanced would likely be okay.

**Past headphones** \- I haven't had any past headphones for this use case before

**Preferred Music** \- These are for movie/TV watching.

I would love a pair of noise cancelling headphones, but everything I've seen getting recommended is mostly bluetooth, and from what I hear there's very likely to be a delay that becomes annoying enough I wouldn't want to use them with a TV. I have read that something that uses the aptx codec might be able to fix that if I get a separate bluetooth receiver to plug into the TV? For that reason I've been looking at the Sony WH-1000XM3, because it looks like they removed aptx support in the XM4?

Hey everybody! I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro and I think they are good. I think they are good but I don't really have any other "good" headphones to compare them to. Because I only have earbuds like the Sennheiser MX 365 and so I'm not really sure what exactly i like about the DT 770s. So I'd like to get another pair of headphones. Just to compare to and to have some Variety in my music listening experience. I was thinking i could get a pair of open back headphones in the 100-150$ range that are kind of on the opposite end of the spectrum to the DT 770.
