What choice should Kojima make?

 I've noticed that nearly every one-star review is complaining the headset broke within just a couple of months. I take great care of my headsets and this thing has lasted me this long with zero problems. TLDR; Sound quality and mic are on par with price, it's lasted me two years with zero issues.

 The sound quality certainly isn't on par with anything such as Bose but it's heaps better than some shitty 40-dollar headset. The mic is clear however, I would suggest purchasing something to help with suppression. Of the ones I’ve heard? The Abyss AB-1266, Audeze LCD-4, and Focal Utopia were really close to each other to be indistinguishable in terms of detail. I haven’t heard the Orpheus though and some people might mention Stax but I think low end detail counts too.

Upon initial testing, I was struck by how much muddier these headphones sounded compared to the set of corsairs they replaced. Music seemed to be too bass-boosted to the point where the high end was getting drowned out by the low frequencies.  However, after fiddling with my audio drivers, I ended up custom EQ-ing the sound to my liking - namely boosting the highs and upper mids, as well as the lower lows. I like headphones that are lightweight and open back so i can hear the room around me, I really love music but do enjoy having a mic for when im gaming.  So if you are in a corner trying to find a decent headset with a big head look no further. These are for you.

The sound that comes from these is bass heavy and a little more tinny than the same offerings from Corsair. This can be tuned out with an eq settings adjustment but will still not sound as good as a set of good Corsair headphones. The only thing these Krakens have going for them is the huge head sizing.  Stiff metal. It's a bit heavy, and I wish that the earcups swiveled because it pushes in front of my ears more than it does behind my ears. But the sound quality is great and the mic quality is good and i love how it retracts. The software key they sent activated easily for the surround sound

Trying to buy budget headphones for gaming

 This fixed the issue but I dont think it solves the problem. I have listened to myself on video and I sound quieter than my previous headset and not as clear. I would probably not purchase again, but I don't regret the purchase.
