 Now, I really can't give you guys a comprehensive test on its coverage since again, Lea and I live in about a 50 square meter apartment where one of these routers will actually do the trick, but what I can show you guys is kind of a range test plus a couple of speed tests comparing it to my stock router. Now, like I said guys, I did speed tests on both our stock router versus the ZenWi-Fi, and you can already see a difference between the 2.4 GHz network over the 5 GHz network of the stock and ZenWi-Fi, which shouldn't be too much of an issue. The big difference here is where I try the connection from one house away or about 20 meters

 You can choose what kind of traffic to prioritize, whether it be for work, studying, gaming, or streaming. You can control the access of your kids' gadgets in case it's time for lights out, or they need to do some chores, or maybe if they're grounded, and this is where you add other nodes in case you need more of them to cover your crib in case, you know, you live in a mansion.  If the node needs to be that close what's the point in having the note at all?  If I could return this, I would. If you want a really robust router go away from home routers and find a commercial router.  I've sent it logs and records all kinds of technical reports, and I'm getting so tired of this circular loop of tech support that I expect the warranty will expire before ever solve the problem.  I think Asus a good brand overall, but but at a $400 price tag, this router is way too unreliable

  Despite the semi-efficient family controls (things like domain or keyword blocking do help), the biggest issue we've had is the node losing its connection or it's full wifi strength regularly. On a regular basis we have to disconnect it and reconnect it to the main router. Oftentimes it requires that we remove it completely via the app, and re-add it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't

When it's working, this is a good router. The signal is strong and has a pretty good reach, extending well beyond the walls of our 2,700, 2-story home. We keep the main router upstairs and the node downstairs.  We bought this $400 router because 3 video game playing kids, we wanted good family controls over wifi and MAC addresses

 So if this can jalan, it's pretty impressive already. Almost a hundred megs, man, for download and upload. Even faster. As you can see with performance like that, I can safely say that the Zen Wi-Fi XT8 is a very good system and a very good investment for a mansion like mine

First things first, you need to set up the first unit which will be called the AI Mesh Router by plugging it directly into the modem and then plugging in the DC cable into the power cable and then turn it on okay. Asus ZenWifi XT8 Review for 25,000sqft Mansion

I just implemented Asus ZenWifi XT8's for this reason - you don't have to use the cloud to manage them and they actually come with a lifetime license for Trend Micro AiProtection which is built-in (don't need an Internet connection to access and control it). Asus recommends plugging directly into an ISP router, but I have mine behind a firewall instead. Works fantasticly, supports WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and is AX6600 (lots of throughput)

I've come close to buying a couple mesh systems, but reading their "Privacy Policy" has stopped me. They are asking the user to give them incredible amounts of information. Is there a system which doesn't require agreeing to give up one's privacy? Or can they be thwarted by something like Pi-Hole?

Mesh without giving up privacy ?

Excitement turned to disappointment! Not suited for WFH

 But 1080p seems to work fine. Now if you're trying, you know, to pretty much hook up your Chromecast to this to access this and play it on the VLC player or the Plex player or whatever on the Chromecast, in theory you could do that, especially with VLC. But I don't know if it's perfect for that. But it might work fine again with 1080p files, it might work fine

 And at the end, I'm going to try to answer the question, is it worth its $449 price tag? Now that is on the expensive side, however, for that price, you're actually getting really good specs. You're getting a speed rating of AX6600. And that's thanks to its tri-band system. Now you may have seen tri-band and dual band

 Now that additional band or that additional frequency is used as a dedicated wireless backhaul. Now what does that mean? That means when you hook these up to each other wirelessly, they're operating on that frequency, which is not being shared with any other devices. Now as a result, there's pretty much less traffic and that equates to faster speeds. So that's basically the longer answer

I could not decide between these 3, please help?

 Recently I’ve read on forums that this issue has plagued others as well. I feel this product has not lived of to the expectation of providing a reliable connection consistently. I have had another ASUS router from a few years ago and had a very consistent connection which prompted me to “upgrade” to these. Let’s say it’s been a big let down

 If you depend on a stable connection for work this is particularly frustrating and disappointing to say the least. I have had this router for many months now and have continued to update the firmware and app but the experience has not improved at all. Recently I’ve read on forums that this issue has plagued others as well. I feel this product has not lived of to the expectation of providing a reliable connection consistently

Disconnects and rests frequently

 So that's a tip for me because during this review, I had to test out these two routers and I had to replace with my current one. And eventually I found out that if you don't put out the exact SSID or the network name, you'll have to reconnect with all of your machines or clients. But in the end, I have around 35. So definitely want to make sure that you have the same name

 And because this is a mesh network, we can actually see whatever is connected to this specific unit or this one, which is the main one. You can see the signal strengths just on watching the homepage of the router. And you have a lot of other options like parental controls, obviously, which is a thing you'll see on most routers these days, but you get a lot more. You get a firewall and you get the option to actually see and diagnose whatever is going on on your network right now via the mobile phone app or via the web browser

 And when I'm saying improved, I mean that usually I get 150 megabits per second when I'm connected to the ethernet port on my router via cable. Now with these on Wi-Fi, I'm getting on almost all of my mobile clients around 140 megabits per second and the lowest latency I ever seen, which is around 60, just about anywhere. And I am talking about a range that is around 120 meters. Now these two with this setup can provide you up to 500 square meters of great Wi-Fi range
