 Hello and welcome. So today we are taking a look at the Bang & Olufsen Biolite 20 Portable Speaker. This is going to be a successor to the Biolite 17. So luckily for me, I'm able to get one here in the studio today

 You've got your buttons here. You have your power button, Bluetooth connect button, play and pause, and then you have your volume rockers. And then at the back here, you've got USB-C charging as you can see, which is really good. And then you've got your auxiliary port for wired listening

 Something else. Yeah, I guess I had my bad things, but it doesn't mean I lost my sound. Where are you? Where are you? Getting one for Christmas and will probably snag it on a Black Friday or like a cyber Monday so I’m willing to have pricier suggestions because things will probably go on sale! Also don’t want to shrink the budget down to much because I do a lot of outdoor workouts/activities and some parties so I’d rather spend a little extra and get a good one. Not very knowledgeable in this category though so any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Best Portable speaker out doors (under 350)

It sounds great in a room, however when I took the speaker outside it was NOT loud enough. There wasn't much base and it sound down right cheap compared to my cousins Harman Kardon Studio 6. Long story short I sent it back and got a Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 6.

Very excited to get it. Then disappointed.

 It's a simple process and covered on the Bang & Olufsen website but all the tuning for this speaker is covered within the app both for wired and wireless Bluetooth connections. So this is the key to getting the sound of the speaker right. When you open up the app you'll see that the tone controls, the regular bass and treble adjustments that you'd make on a normal audio system have been changed somewhat. They're replaced by a tone wheel which Bang & Olufsen refer to as Biosonic

 But for the best quality please use the 3.5mm stereo mini jack input on the back of the speaker and cable the speaker to your music source. You've got no risk of the sound dropping out and you get the best sound quality.  Now what this does is it allows you to move a dot around a circle and either raise or lower the bass and treble of the speaker accordingly. So I'm going to give you two suggested settings, one for music, one for movies, that I feel, to my ears at least, give a better representation of the sound than the default setting which is referred to as optimum in the app. Now don't get me wrong, the optimum setting is great. It doesn't embellish the music, it doesn't subtract from it but I don't think it really shows the full potential of these speakers

 So we're going to look through three simple ways to improve the sound of these speakers. First of all I'm going to suggest that you go to your regular app store on your phone or tablet download the Bang & Olufsen app which is free of charge on Apple and Android and configure your Beolit speaker on there. It's a simple process and covered on the Bang & Olufsen website but all the tuning for this speaker is covered within the app both for wired and wireless Bluetooth connections. So this is the key to getting the sound of the speaker right

You will be able to purchase it for less than half the price on Amazon in about 6 months.... Or so is the trend for HK Onyx Speakers of the past..... Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7

Bought this item For a beach trip. The sound quality is great but the battery quickly dies and the sound is reduced to 1/4. Please contact me, so I can return it.

Bang and Olufsen Beolit 20 High End Bluetooth Speaker - Full Review, Unboxing Speaker & Sound Test!

i got 2 for a stereo experience. the user experience of the app, the setup, and the actual outcome of them working together is sub par. for $1100 in bluetooth speakers, i expected more. if things don't turn around quickly such they work together in stereo reliably, they are going back

 the sound quality is awesome, but the product execution is complete garbage. and the app is even worse. these will likely go back as well, but amazon says i have until august 27th. do they do any testing at all?

 these speakers sound great, but getting them to work is a pita. the app is useless. if i thought i could find anything that sounds as good and actually worked reliably, these would be gone. i'd pay more if they'd just work

absolutely the worst thing i've purchased on amazon. don't torture yourself

 So you can adjust the volume and you can adjust the equalisation, so the amount of bass and treble that you're getting, and that's actually really helpful. I often use this on a cabled input, but it's great to be able to use the phone that's in the pocket to adjust the sound whilst the line input's playing. And the third point that I found out by accident that's actually really helpful is that as long as the speaker is connected to mains power via the USB socket on the back, it will stay enabled and it will store its volume and input settings. That's really handy if you either want to use this as part of a larger multi-room B&O system, or if for example you want to use your phone as an alarm clock but connected to the speaker for better sound, then keep the power connected to the speaker and then the speaker will always be ready to play any sound from the phone at any point

 But I'm also a brand ambassador for B&O, so I'm keen to help B&O owners get the very best from their B&O products. We're going to start with some simple things to help you with your enjoyment of these Beelitz portable Bluetooth speakers. And then we're going to go into the hidden menu option at the end of the video, so please stay with me. First of all, I've got three simple pointers for you that you can use to help you get better experiences with the music and functionality of the speakers

 So from a single point you get a sound that encompasses both the left and right channels of the stereo signal. So it's great as a point source speaker and you can actually make it part of a multi-room system as well. So how do you enable the hidden retail mode? Well first of all you need a piece of software that is official Bang & Olufsen software and it's available on the B&O website. So at the time of making this video, February 2021, the link that's in this video description is correct and it's on the Bang & Olufsen support website

 Now, if you've got a B&O Sound CD player or music system, then all you need is a simple cable. This is a PowerLink to Minijack cable. For a single room music system, say you've got a B&O Sound 9000 CD player for example, you connect into the line input, go onto the PowerLink output of the CD player and this speaker will act as your main speaker. Although it's a single channel speaker, what it does is it takes in left and right stereo inputs and combines them
