I got this razor to avoid razor bumps and in grown hairs. However I quickly realized that with any acne or uneven skin of any kind and you’ll be covered in knicks bleeding everywhere. What I mean by this is it gives an insanely close shave and is overall amazing for what it can do, however even with an extremely steady and patient hand it won’t matter bc it so easily slices right through any imperfections on your face and leaves you with an open wound every time and often in many places seeing as we’re humans and not inherently perfect. No amount of prep will help you avoid being cut every time you use this product unless you can truly say you have the most flawless skin under the hair your shaving

You need perfectly smooth skin or this doesn’t work at all

 Overall, I enjoyed this shaving experience as it was definitely more nostalgic with the razor blades and the different products for my face both pre-and post shave. I really liked the weight of the razor itself as I found that it was very easy to get a very smooth shave. What I wasn't a fan of was how slick the razor got when it ( my hands) got wet. Am thinking as much as the smooth and sleek silver design is very cool, it was very slippery and perhaps some type of contoured handle would be in order

Nostalgic Shaving System

 I dont want to give up on it, but I would recommend that you watch tutorials before attempting to shave with this. I am a little disappointed but hopefully with more practice this will be a better experience.

Just got my Bevel Razor today and tried it out. YIKES! I cut myself in 3 different places, the first time, I have had this many cuts since I started shaving as a teenager. This razor will take some getting use to. I went on Youtube and watched a tutorial, but I still found difficulty in using this

 It comes with 5 starter blades, which give a good shave. Unfortunately, I don't think it's well-designed. To add "grip" to the polished handle, they added a *very* light brushed/etched/sandblasted texture to it. The texture is so light that it doesn't really add much grip at all, and the razor felt slippery in my grip when wet and soapy

As a woman, this shaver doesn't deliver the close shave or speed I'm used to when shaving my underarms and bikini area. I have to go much slower with this design. I can see how taking your time would be beneficial for men shaving their face, but for body hair, it isn't ideal. I wish this hadn't been recommended for women

Not Good For Women/Body hair

 This has been my default shaving method for most of my adult life. Also this is a review of the Bevel razor, not their blades, brushes, cream, or system. I thought the razor was marketing hype and that all safety razors are essentially the same. I've been using an Edwin Jagger DE89 for over a decade

 The Bevel blades are mediocre and dull quickly, I'm using Gillette Blues in it instead. The Bevel brand DE blades are overpriced for what they are, just regular DE blades, nothing special. I think a lot of the positive reviews here are from people moving from cartridge shaving to wet shaving with a DE safety razor, and it is superior. There isn't anything special about Bevel compared to other DE safety razors

 I took the razor blade from my current Jagger and put it in the Bevel. I immediately noticed that the shave was closer, and yet there was more skin left on my face (less razor burn). I was amazed that it was noticeably more precise and comfortable. I needed fewer passes to shave myself

 Most safety razors have squared off sides with a bit of the unsharpened blade edge exposed, so it's easier to pick up and change the blade. The handle is also skinny and slick. Once again, very easy to drop, hard to keep a grip. For something that will always be held with wet soapy hands, this is a terrible design

Almost Perfect, Flaws Are Very Serious Though

 I definitely cut up my chin and jaw line the first few times using this razor. However, as I continued to use it more and adjusted to the various holding angles for the different parts of my face, the shave got much easier and the results are noticable (after about 8 months of use):  - Shave is much closer, so my face is much smoother - Initial instances of using this razor I did get a couple of razor bumps, but now that I'm accustomed, I get none! - Shave lasts about 2 days longer than when I use a Gillette razor - Razor and blades are very finely weighted and crafted so once you understand the different angles, you can maneuver around your face with ease  Lastly, while I liked the additional parts of the full Bevel system (Priming oil, shaving cream, After shave balm, etc.) I've found Tend Skin's products to work a little better for me. However, definitely worth trying the full system to see what works best for you!

 However, of course Gillette is more of a one-size-fits-all razor brand and doesn't account for some of the nuances some men have to deal with when shaving, I looked for a razor blade that would assist in minimizing razor bumps and ingrown hairs, and that's where Bevel comes in. As an African American man, I've always been more susceptible to razor bumps and ingrown hairs due to curlier hair. Gillette was my go-to for shaving because it did better with sensitive skin and were good for shaving quickly. However, of course Gillette is more of a one-size-fits-all razor brand and doesn't account for some of the nuances some men have to deal with when shaving, I looked for a razor blade that would assist in minimizing razor bumps and ingrown hairs, and that's where Bevel comes in.  Firstly, I'm very happy to support a black-owned brand that addresses some of the unique grooming issues of black men, so cheers to that!  The double edge blades make it a lot less expensive ($0.30 or less per blade) to use a new sharp blade every time I shave. The handle is longer than some less expensive models making it easier to hold and shave with. The style and design is quite soffisticated and contemporary for a safety razor

 The Bevel safety razor is heavy and does the work for you. The design of the head keeps the razor's edge at consistent angle making it more comfortable to shave with. The double edge blades make it a lot less expensive ($0.30 or less per blade) to use a new sharp blade every time I shave

I do not need to use the other products included in the shave system. While I am disappointed that in my youth I threw away the safety razors that had been given to me for the twin blade dosposables; I am a new fan of safety razors. I shave both my head and face, so a sharp edge is important to me. The cheaper butterfly head safety razor I bought at the drug store would frequently loosen while shaving; changing the angle of the blade and cause irritation and sometimes knicks

Nice Safety Razor

This razor is well weighted, nice design. Unfortunately for me I continue to get ingrown hairs. It could be my technique, as I've only been wet shaving for about 6 months. I also use a different safety​ razor that has a smaller handle and the head is a little more curved, I don't tend to get ingrown hairs from that one

 I have a Merkur 34c and an Edwin Jagger DE89L, this particular razor is slightly more aggressive then the two. With the Bevel though I usually get a damn good shave in one pass! The only two blades that seem to work for me is the Bevel razor blades and Feather blades. So.

As I lather up I kept reminding myself that I had to keep the razor at a 30 degree angle to my face as to not cut myself and get a good shave. How did it go, lets say I am going to need more practice but all and all I am pretty satisfied with the razor

I have most recently gotten back into wet shaving and was using my multi-blade razor and thought it was time to get a DE razor. The last time I used a DE razor was when I was in the military back in the late '60s. I wanted a middle aggressive razor and decided on the Bevel razor. The razor arrived early thanks to Amazon Prime

 So if you are just starting out in wet shaving and looking for a DE fixed blade razor I would recommend this razor to you.
