 These generally hover right around the $180 mark, but if you watch Amazon, they go on sale all the time down to like $145. These are a passive headphone that do a pretty solid job of isolation, and they've got a pretty forgiving clamping force, something I'm really sensitive to personally, definitely less than like a Sennheiser frame out of the box. It can get a little confusing shopping for these two because the DT770 Pro has been the basis for a lot of other headphones from Beyerdynamic and has been available in both a Pro and a limited designation and available in as many as four different impedance levels. Without getting too technical here, the lower impedance version, the 32 ohm is going to be suitable for situations where you don't need a discrete amp, so it's going to be ideal for mobile or console controllers

 With the 250 ohm version, it started to feel a little flat, a little sterile for me. And speaking of Zeos, he said recently in a review that these are the best close back headphones under $200. The reason why this gaming headset can even be mentioned in the same breadth as the other two headphones we've looked at today is because these are a rework of the Tacstar Pro 82 headphones. If the first two cans we looked at today are out of your price range, the CM751 can be had for like $80, which is an incredible deal

 I used to give that title to the Sennheiser GSP-300, but I keep coming back to the CM-751 and finding little nuances that edge out to Sennheiser. Plus, that GSP-300 is dog-ass ugly. So if you can't tolerate the attached cable, you really like that punched up sound signature with lots of emphasis on the lows and lots of emphasis on the highs, and you want a product that's going to stand the test of time with you, be seriously durable, and can be repaired by you in-house, the DT-770 Pro is an excellent choice. DT 770 Pro 80ohm Review: STILL my Favorite Closed Back Under $200

Orchestral tracks, like the opening scene in John Adams' The Gospel According to the Other Mary, sound phenomenal through the DT 770 Studio. The lower register instrumentation has such beautiful richness and depth, without ever sounding like it is boosted or threatening the dominance of the higher register brass, strings, and vocals, which maintain their prominent role in the spotlight. It's a bright, detailed sound that allows the brass stabs to shine, but in the occasional moments when there is a little sub-bass in the mix, you hear it all.

The black and gray DT 770 Studio is a bulky, circumaural pair that is quite comfortable in spite of a large frame. A closed design is ideal for tracking, as sound leakage is kept to a minimum. Gray velour earpads are generously cushioned, as is the removable, replaceable, snap-shut headband cushion. Inside the earcups, dynamic drivers deliver an estimated frequency response of 5Hz-35kHz

 Through the DT 770 Studio, the drums sounds fantastic&mdash;crisp definition, but also a round, full bass depth that is accurate, clear, and not at all weak. Callahan's baritone vocals also have a wonderful low-mid richness to them that is matched by high-mid treble edge and clarity. The attack of the acoustic guitar strums is bright and beautiful, and more so than usual, we get a solid sense of the dynamics on this track and the space it was recorded in.

For testing, we connected the DT 770 Studio to an Apogee Symphony I/O. On tracks with intense sub-bass content, like The Knife's "Silent Shout," the headphones deliver thumping, powerful bass depth, but don't invent bass where it doesn't exist. This track has heavy lows, and the headphones have the ability to go deep and reproduce them, but there's just as much clarity in the high-mids and highs.

 Now before we get started, I just want to clarify that the DT770 Pro that I'm filming with today is an 80 ohm version. Now I have tried the 215 ohm version of the DT770 Pro, but honestly, there was like almost no audio differences that I could notice, at least on the source equipment that I was using. And the other thing is that the one I have with me is actually a newer one. So this is not like the one that I owned like years ago, that one I gave to a friend

 But anyways, now to wrap up this review on the DT1770 Pro. You know, it's a headphone that even after all these years, I find to be really impressive, especially when you take into consideration its price point. I know that the V-shaped tuning won't be for everybody, but the way that it's executed on the DT1770 Pro, I find to be quite tasteful and very enjoyable. And the technical performance here, I really feel rivals headphones that are in, you know, twice its price range

 Now the reason why I make this video is because recently, due to other content that I've been working on, I've actually been listening a lot to the DT770 Pro and I realized that I never actually like covered it or reviewed it and you know, looking back on my like audio experience, it's probably the headphone, like the hi-fi headphone that I've been listening to for the longest. So some of you might know that my first review or at least my first video review was of the 2020 LCD2, so the phaser version, not the razor, the phaser version of the LCD2. And a year, like the year before that, what I had been using as my daily driver was a DT770 Pro. And the reason for that, as hopefully you'll understand by the end of the video, is that it had a lot of qualities that suited both my audio needs and preferences

 Now if there's a few things that I have to flaw about the build, the first one and the more prominent one is the cable. So the cable is non-detachable and this is really the only element on the headphone that I can see as being like a common source of failure. Everything else I've never run into issues with. So like on all the DT 770 Pros that I've had or tried, no issues with the hinges or loosening up or anything like that

The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro are well-built, durable and great-sounding closed-back headphones. They're a bit more versatile and have a slightly better Bass than the DT 990 PRO or DT 880 thanks to their closed-back design. However, they still leak a bit too much for quieter environments, and they're somewhat cumbersome to carry on you if you don't have a bag.

com this is a steal for 159 bucks. Now if you want to get the 32 ohm which is a little better for mobile devices or the 250 ohm because you're going to be working with them in a studio then they're going to run you honestly like five or ten dollars more they're all right about that same $160 ballpark. So these DT 770s very nice plug it into an amp on the way sounds even better and with that I think speaking of which I'm going to plug it into my amp and I I'm going to catch you in my next video.

 This time I'm looking at headphones. These are the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro Studio Headphones 80 ohm. Now you're like 80 ohm, what does that mean? So that's impedance and generally if you're getting headphones for mobile devices like a smartphone or a tablet or even a computer you probably want to get something around 32 ohms. But the higher the impedance the better the sound

 They just they have a nice sound to them but they're expecting that you're going to be sitting there and mixing and let's do just a little more on this cymbal and let's bring down that background vocal things like that. Now they are studio and stage ready and the connection on it is gold plated and it's both the gold plated on the 3.5 millimeter as shown and of course there's a quarter inch adapter that comes in the box. While we're talking about the box it also comes with a little um holder envelope whatever you want to call it

 The headphones are a closed design which means they are well-suited to their original audio monitoring purpose, but also offer decent isolation for on-the-go. That is if you can find somewhere to stow the three-meter (10ft), non-removable cable.I used the headphones for a number of weeks as my main headphone and thoroughly enjoyed them. Whether I plugged them into an iFi iDac or Cowon Plenue 1 player the DT 770s always gave a balanced performance

 That 32-ohm model also has different ear pads.  They are fairly comfortable with my big head, don't make my ears hot and don't leak sound.

I was looking for something that was comfortable with no sound leakage that I could drive directly from a laptop and not need an amp. The main purpose was just to listen to speaking videos with the above requirements. However, after reading the reviews it sounded like they would be good for music as well with an amp - which I do have (Mojo). So, unless I was wanting to listen to true audiophile music, I thought maybe this would save me from having to switch back and forth between headphones when I took a break from speaking videos to listen to some music At least that Is what I had hoped

 But for music, if I have to spend more to make it sound good enough for my preference that is what I will do. One positive for music with the DT770 is the vocals don't sound recessed like they can be on the Meze 99 Classics, but neither do they on my TP5. Unfortunately for music, the DT 770 just doesn't cut it for me.  For music, I will still have to use the Meze 99 Classics when I am in the mood for tons of bass, knowing that it will drown out other frequencies and some clarity

I actually thought my set was defective but a friend has the same set and his are exactly the same.  Bass is decent at low volumes. I can run my Sennheiser 650s or hifiman 400is so loud i can hear them throughout my whole house (1500sqr ft villa). These things will be full distortion at that kind of volume or even close to it honestly. Maybe I just listen to my music too loud?  With that said, I tested the performance of the DT 770 Pro while playing Call Of Duty Black Ops 4. The best map, which showcases the performance of the best is the “Occupation” map, which is a close-quarters. I could hear what was going on and direction, where the action was taking place on the map, whether it was dialogue, gunshots or explosions. Of course, footsteps could be heard, as well

 If that makes sense. Not to mention, the bass is somewhat reserved, so it does not overpower the sounds and vocals. Out of curiosity, I tested the performance of the DT 770 Pro while playing various shooters on PS4 Pro. The first test was done while playing Call Of Duty WWIII played

 Well, the DT 770 Pro, picks up footsteps in games VERY well.  LOWS/MIDS: The lows and mids are great, as they pick up subtle sounds with no effort, thanks to the headphones lows. I am hearing sounds, which I could barely hear with other headphones, such as the breaking of glass from afar, breakage of pottery, or bullet casings hitting the floor. Then, there are detailed sounds, such as the unbelievable sound of crunching, as my character was trampling through the deep snow, cracking of the ice or sounds of moving water, while swimming on the Icebreaker map

 Considering, these are closed-back headphones, they have a decent soundstage. Possibly, the best of most closed-back headphones or headsets. Of course, the result is not comparable to open-back headphones, which has a greater, more open soundstage by default. Of course, I am sure, some are wondering about footsteps

 When done this way, you can achieve a highly accurate and complete correction of the colorization (see photo). Do note that if you do this, to not apply as much correction as you get closer to the high end because of the way the headphones behave with volume changes - you will want to only correct about 2/3 to 1/2 as much to give some room for these changes.  If you bother to do this - it will drastically improve the sound profile of these headphones. It will feel like you added 100's of dollars of value to them because frankly - it's quite difficult to manufacture headphones to sound uncolored by themselves - the physics behind it will always introduce some colorized sound

 I'm not concerned with the way they look. They aren't displeasing to me - but I'm also not thinking these are the coolest looking phones, but I don't care about that.

  As for the build quality - pretty sure these will last a lifetime with care. There's nothing particular cheaply made that I noticed about these phones. I'm not concerned with the way they look.
