 So there it is, this thing's a beast, yeah, so I got these back tire speakers sitting up a little higher on one, you know, a little step stool and the mount one over there sitting on a little box until I can get something else for them to sit up on, because if I sit it all the way on the floor, half of the speakers will be, half of the sound will be blocked by the couch right there, so anyways, it's a little rigged, but hey, it gets the job done. Anyways, so this thing is a beast, it's pretty heavy, right now I have it hooked up with, I'm not sure if you can see it, I'm taking this with my phone too, alright. So I got it set up with just a single subwoofer cable I got from Best Buy, this is a 24 foot cable. I would advise y'all if you're going to go this route to get the longest cable possible, you may have to pay, you'll have to pay a little bit extra as opposed to getting like a 6 foot cable or an 8 foot cable, but you want to allow yourself to have as much room as possible to move this thing around, because with subs, placement is everything

 They say the instructions say to leave it at 80Hz if you have a THX certified receiver, which I do, but at 80Hz it sounds alright, I've been toying around with it, trying to dial it in here recently, so yeah, anyways, it's got a power switch, it has an auto setting as well, so it'll automatically turn off, and then once it detects a signal, it'll turn on, I just have it on right now, I don't really care to bother with that setting, but anyways, it's pretty nice. You can also hook it up, I guess the old way or whatever, take your wires from your front tower speakers, run them through here, and then run the wires from here to the tower speaker channel on your receiver, and it's just a mess of wires, and I've done that before my old subwoofer, and it's alright, but it's a lot of wires running around, so I just went and spent a little extra money to get this little cable here, Rockfish I think from Best Buy, subwoofer cable, single RCA type jack, but keep in mind though, not all receivers have the setting to where you can hook up a sub cable, so before you pull the plug on one of these, make sure your receiver can accept this type of cable on the back, if not, you're going to have to go this route, which is fine too, but you'll need a lot more wires, especially if you want to move your sub around or whatever. Anyways, yeah, let me take this grill off here, this is the front of it, yeah, pretty massive, there's the heart of the beast right there, pretty nice, it's not completely broken in yet, I really haven't been playing around with it as much, but yeah, it does do some movement but not a whole lot, but I don't think just because, you know, I don't think you should judge a sub on the fact of how much movement it produces, because this thing sounds amazing, and it does move a little bit, but it's not like monstrous, so, but anyway, it's pretty nice, I'm super happy with it, my other sub, anyways, my other sub that I had was a Yamaha 10 inch, so pretty basic, but I had it for the longest time, and when I moved, I set it up, and it was blown somehow, I don't know how, but I'm not worried about it, it sounded good, I thought, but I noticed when I had that, when I cranked it up, it would distort, this, yeah, does not do that, and I've cranked this up quite a bit, and it just sounds crisp, depending on how you have it set, you can feel the bass, I mean, feel it, I've watched, I watched one movie a couple days ago, The Avengers, Age of Ultron, sounded pretty badass, man, it was hitting, nice, you can definitely feel the presence in the room, so, I bought the sub for 270 bucks, I think, off Amazon, yeah, I don't, yeah, it's a pretty nice purchase, and I was originally gonna go with a Klips RS 112, RS 112, yeah, sub, the reference series, 12 inch, simply because I do like the way Klips speakers sound, they're very crisp, and there were, there were good reviews for that one as well, I mean, as well as the Formula 12, F12, but the price point was like 400 something dollars cheaper, and I'm like, well, I'm not as well, you know, just see what it's all about, and so far I couldn't be happier, so, like I was saying before, my whole goal is to do Klips all the way around, not just because, you know, it's Klips, but I do feel that they sound amazing, super crisp, all kinds of details that you can hear, especially with my front tower speakers, that I couldn't hear before when I had my Sonys as my front towers, like, they sound pretty, pretty good, and they all have good reviews, but as far as the sub is concerned, you know, this thing's a keeper, so, I don't really care about it, but anyways, that is my review, hope y'all found it pretty helpful, yeah, post in the comments, I guess, see ya, thanks for watching.

BIC America F-12 subwoofer review

 A 12" subwoofer should also be able to go lower, it falls on its face below 25 Hz. You aren't going to get any subsonic bass out of this one, it just can't do it.  I have my eye on an SVS PB-2000 Pro now, which should be in another league for power and clarity.  The BIC is NOT a bad sub, again there's nothing else that can hang with this for less than $400-500, but it's always true that you get what you pay for

 You're not going to get a top-of-the-line sub for $200, just a good one. If you just want to feel some heavy bass and don't care about the sound quality being the best, look no further than the F-12. This thing's loud and your neighbors will hate you, no doubt about it.

 It sounds muddy. It's pretty good at home theater, but kind of sucks for music. A 12" subwoofer should also be able to go lower, it falls on its face below 25 Hz. You aren't going to get any subsonic bass out of this one, it just can't do it

It delivers loud, crushing bass, but it's not accurate and a 12" should go deeper.

 I would just say if your budget is 200, save up some more and look at something from hsu or sorry shoe or from svs, because those are going to give you more home, theater performance. And this brings me to the frugality grade of this subwoofer and for stereo music. I am going to give it a b plus. I really believe this is the area in which this sub excels, especially for the price

 All right so we'll put you back there, and this has a 150 watt, rms 475 watt peak amplifier, which i think is one of the highest rated amplifiers in its class. Some competition with this would definitely be the klipsch r12 and r120 subwoofers they're about the same size around about the same price. Maybe a few dollars more uh, 30 40 bucks more, but you can get those on sale for you know around about the same price, but they're both amplifiers are only rated up to 400 watts, so this guy's got a little bit bigger amplifier. I don't know if it's that much of a difference, but it's rated a little bit higher and the frequency response is rated down to 25 hertz in room

 That'S not low enough in my opinion, especially if you're just going to use one. I would maybe look at something different, although if your budget is 200, i don't really know anything better. I would just say if your budget is 200, save up some more and look at something from hsu or sorry shoe or from svs, because those are going to give you more home, theater performance. And this brings me to the frugality grade of this subwoofer and for stereo music

 You don't care about. The looks get this guy for home theater. I am going to give it a b minus for me. It just doesn't quite kick low enough to be considered a real option for home theater

BIC America F12 Subwoofer Review!

Recently upgraded my gear from all Fluance speakers and an SMSL SA300. Absolutely blown away by how much better the new setup sounds.

 The driver itself is of very high quality and seems very, very sturdy. I imagine the woofer will outlast the rest of it. Note, the surrounds on this woofer are very tight. So tight, in fact, you might not achieve good bass right out of the box as it may take some hours of play time with a bass heavy soundtrack to break it in

 Because of the F-12's rear port, you can't place it close to a wall (the air coming from the port needs space to move freely) if you want to achieve maximum bass. For this design flaw, I deducted a star.  All that said, this is an incredible sub for the price. Really think about it

 I am here to dispel that as complete and utter nonsense. The F-12 is a high end performer, provided you set it up correctly. It is capable of hitting the earth shattering lows that you feel more than you hear. In fact, a lot of negative comments I've seen on this sub complain the sub cannot replicate bass frequencies in the low 20hz range and below

..volume cranked to face melt setting. The key to getting this type of performance is room placement (google sub crawl or sub walk) and tuning with the receiver the sub is connected to (you need to go into the settings after audio calibration and really tweak things

Some of the listed cons are untrue

 Ok guys, I don't know how good this camera picked up that bass but I'm on a subwoofer now and that causes the bass to be a little bit less and this whole place is just shaking. Bic American f12 review and demonstration

Fluance isn't as good but does have conveniently packaged systems that are decent quality. You'll want a halfway decent subwoofer like the BIC F12 at least. Buying a brand-matched subwoofer is usually a bad idea, unless you're shopping with SVS, PSA, HSU, or Rythmik.

Would someone be willing to confirm or critique my in-progress home theater build?

 20. the polk hit 92db SPL, the F12 86 db  at vol 30. the polk hit 103 db and F12 98 db (sitting slightly to the left of test done at vol 32 above).  Songs to test: "respect" by Notorious BIG (should here a low to high rumble on each bass hit)  "Murdergram" LL cool J  "Eat-em Up L" LL cool J  "phone numbers" Whiz Khalifa - this song has some fast low bass hits that the F12 got each one clearer than the Polk

 to a cannon (PSW505). Both will do damage but the PSW505 does the most. Also with the PSW the bass is "thick enough" to where the M16 shots in Inception kinda scares me, with the F12 no.  F12 is good tho' but the Polk, you can play that thing and your walls will submit before the sub

  The PSW505 is powerful enough to overpower my BIC LRC (Left right center)Formula speakers. The F12 couldn't do that without going to 3/4 volume and shaking the grill and sounding like it was working 2 hard. The PSW505 at about 5/8 volume shakes my entire north wall, the window, the ceiling and the south wall about 35 feet away from the sub.  F12 did sound a bit better for punch deep bass songs like "murder gram" by LL Cool J, and "eat em up L"

4.5 stars and comparison to PSW505....

 Some subwoofers, when you play them, and if they're not quality subwoofer, you're going to hear it. It feels like it's hitting your eardrums, it doesn't feel good, it feels kind of annoying, at least to me, to my listening liking. I don't really like those. But this on the other hand, the way it's pushing the air, and the way it's emitting the sound, you feel it on your chest on certain sequences

 I picked it up at $240, I didn't feel like waiting for any sales to come up, I think that was a sale. I probably could have gotten a bigger sub, but this is justifiable to me. I think it's on Amazon for like $10 cheaper, but I picked it up from online just so I can have the mental satisfaction of returning it if I didn't like it. There have been talks about this thing has hazmat material

 To say a little more about it, the subwoofer is really good. It gives you clean sub, clean bass, really good response on the sound and whether you throw music, movies, whatever you want, it plays it well. I tried some songs with heavy bass, some from Kanye West, some from Eminem and oh man this thing is like, it pumps, you can feel the bass, you can hear the difference between this one and the 10 inch Klipsch subwoofer that I had. So it goes without to say the reputation on the Bic F12, it sticks out

 So some of the movies that I tried on this thing is, I did Lord of the Rings, Transformers, Pacific Rim, Tropic Thunder, The Dark Knight, and of course last but not least, some of The Matrix. And overall, all those movies, they perform really well. And one thing I've noticed, depending on how the movie was recorded, that's how you might hear the bass coming out of this thing. Some of you was probably recorded with a little bit of higher bass than the other, so you may not hear it, but you know what, overall, this thing rumbles
