I tend to rate products on a cost-driven curve, so keep that in mind when reading. I went with three stars simply due to what I view as the relatively low price paid for the product.

In short, this blade will take a great amount of work finish if you plan to do anything more than slash at the hedges or dead branches. It's fun to swing around, and will make for a decent conversation piece, maybe a solid addition to a costume, but at the end of the day, a ~ $30 sword is a $30 sword and nothing more.This was my third and final attempt at purchasing a decent product from this manufacturer. There won't be another

It'S a nice good good size handle for for one hand, and if you got bigger hands than me, you definitely got some room there and got a little uh lanyard hole on the bottom there

I would be curious if anyone else has received a blade in this condition, I assume the quality control person at the factory was hung over and or drunk that day. It happens to the best of us.

 For many folks this would be a defective item which would need to be returned. Fortunately I dabble in bladesmithing and blacksmithing, so I have the capability to correct this. Well this is an interesting situation. This blade seems to have made it out of manufacturing unfinished. The primary grind is not complete at the point, and has uneven spots at the “corner” on the point angle. The entire blade that has a primary grind is also NOT SHARPENED with the black coating all the way to the spoon dull edge

A bad day for quality control

I understood I was purchasing a tool, not a display piece and for a very reasonable price given the quality of metal used. Here is why it received only three stars: the grinding for the edges was sloppy, there are spots where the finish is still showing and the edge is obviously grinded over in some places, the tip is not even remotely sharp on the one that I received, and the biggest reason for the moderate review, the sticker on the blade..

A good tool with a few flaws

 It would give the option for buyers that don't have the tools or the ability to grind and sharpen the blade to a sharp and uniform edge to look elsewhere for a finished product. Luckily I have the tools to complete the task. Now at the core of the problem from the Cold Steel factory to let that many products escape quality control is really saddening to see and hopefully not a wake up call for what is to come in the future.

 I also purchased the same blade from another big outdoor store for an even lower price and received the same unfinished machete. Which would be fine if they advertised it as being an unfinished product for a lower price. It would give the option for buyers that don't have the tools or the ability to grind and sharpen the blade to a sharp and uniform edge to look elsewhere for a finished product. Luckily I have the tools to complete the task

Bad Finish To A Great Product

 It worked acceptably, but it's heavy. The tip didn't prove fragile but I wasn't deliberately abusing it. I wasn't babying it either. It hit the dirt several times with no damage

Cool machete, not an efficient tool

NIce fun cheap sword!

 Handle is okay, and very traditional, could use some padding. As a machete, it works, but I bought it more for personal home defense. Over all, its okay. Just be careful, it does take a very sharp edge, if you know what your doing
